During a recent episode of the "Hold My Banner" podcast, hosts Adam Pellerin and Ountae Campbell discussed the trade proposal and whether they would make that trade if they were running the Celtics organization. The duo also shared some of the online fan reactions to the proposed deal, showing how split opinion was on the potential to add Sabonis to a core of Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, and, upon his return, Jayson Tatum.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Nick Pivetta gave up one hit and one run in seven innings, Jackson Merrill drove in two runs, and the San Diego Padres won their sixth game in a row, 4-1 over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night. Cardinals starter Matthew Liberatore (6-9) pitched 4 1/3 innings, giving up four hits and four runs (one earned). Key moment Padres reliever Mason Miller, acquired at the trade deadline on Thursday from the Athletics, trotted in from the bullpen in the eighth inning to roaring applause from the soldout Petco Park crowd for his first appearance with San Diego. Miller got Yohel Pozo to ground into a double play with one out and runners at the corners to get out of the inning unscathed. Key stat The Cardinals have lost five of their last six games. Former Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman La'el Collins is signing with the Dallas Cowboys after a workout with the team, according to Tommy Yarrish. Collins, 32, last played in an NFL regular-season game for the Bengals in December 2022, when he suffered a knee injury. Released by the Bengals in September 2023, Collins signed in 2024 with the Buffalo Bills, which moved him from tackle to guard. He was released in August 2024 by the Bills. Collins started all 15 games in which he played in his only season in Cincinnati. Collins played 74 games over six NFL seasons with the Cowboys to start his career. Ice hockey fans, players excited for World Juniors tournament coming to Minnesota
Minnesota hockey fans get an extra gift this holiday season. The World Juniors is coming to the state of hockey. "Like no other," described defenseman Logan Hensler. "Happens once a year. It's always on TV. People are always watching, talking about it. There's a ton of attention to it. It's a pretty cool experience." Hensler has been there before. The defenseman from Woodbury took gold last January. Now, he's trying to repeat as a large, talented group tangle for a roster spot on Team USA. "Your compete, your discipline. All around play. You get pushed every day by these guys," said Hensler. "It's just important you keep up and keep going. Push through." Hensler's last few months have been his most accomplished in hockey. He won the most recent World Juniors gold and was then selected 23rd overall by the Ottawa Senators in the NHL draft in June. "Dream come true," remembered Hensler. "Got there, it was a great experience. The moment I got picked was kind of a blur. Kind of a blackout moment. Really special. Great organization. Just happy my family was there to witness it." Hensler, the top Minnesotan selected in 2025, will be a sophomore with the Badgers this winter. But it might not be long before he trades red and white for Ottawa's colors. "This next coming year I'm going back to Wisconsin," said Hensler. "A big thing for me is taking it year by year. Just gonna take this year, see how it goes. See how I grow as a player.
