Oleap's New Archer AI Meeting Headset Comes With ANC And Multilingual Transcription

Forbes2 days ago

The Leap Archer AI Meeting Headset has up to 50dB of active noise cancelation and transcription ... More function in 89 languages.
With so many people working from home but still needing to make phone calls and attend video meetings, a wireless headset is now an essential accessory, much as a good quality keyboard, a large computer display or a comfortable office chair are.
Today, Oleap announced the launch of a new headset aimed at home workers and those with hybrid office jobs. The new Archer AI Meeting Headset uses the advanced capabilities of AI and harnesses them for improving sound quality, especially in noisy office environments.
The Archer AI Meeting Headset is a single earpiece model and provides up to 50dB of environmental noise cancellation. That should be enough to make a big difference over traditional headsets without ANC, which can struggle in noisy office environments. Making calls in an open plan office can be hard work, especially when there's a lot of background chatter, laughter or ambient noise like an air conditioner.
The Oleap Archer AI Meeting Headset is available with the optional charging case.
Advanced Noise Cancelation
With the use of some advanced algorithms and machine learning, Oleap says the Archer AI Meeting Headset can actively identify and eliminate unwanted sounds in real time, ensuring the user's voice is picked up loudly and clearly.
However, headsets aren't just about noise cancellation. This model also has AI-powered transcription and summarization capabilities with built-in support for no fewer than 89 languages.
The headset doesn't just record conversations; it can also transform them into actionable insights. For example, a recording made during a meeting can be turned into a summarized document containing highlighting of key points, action items and even deadlines.
The Oleap app can record, transcribe and summarize in 89 languages.
Oleap wants to position the new Archer AI Meeting as a premium headset for those who need quiet and efficient communication as well as advanced transcription features. Other features include a Personal Mode for recording voice memos or making notes; a Media Mode for listening to music, podcasts or videos; plus, an ambient mode that can filter through ambient sounds while still providing clear audio.
Semi In-Ear Design
As well as working as a headset, the Archer AI Meeting uses a semi-in-ear design that enables it to be worn for long phone calls or even all-day use. It's lightweight and has a 270-degree rotatable boom microphone that can be adjusted for optimal sound capture.
A full charge of the new headset's battery will provide up to seven hours of talk time. When used with the optional charging case, the total available battery life goes up to 28 hours. Other features include one-click mute and dual-device Multipoint connectivity for working with more than one device at the same time.
The headset market is a crowded one and dominated by the big brands like Jabra, Poly, Bose and Sony. Oleap hopes its new Archer headset can differentiate itself because of the advanced noise cancellation and transcription functions with multilingual AI capabilities.
The ANC function built into the Oleap Archer AI Meeting Headset can cut unwanted noise by up to ... More 50dB.
'Traditional headsets are great for basic calls, but they don't address the deeper needs of modern users,' claims Liu Zhi, Oleap's CEO. 'We wanted to create a device that not only enhances sound quality but also becomes an active tool in your workflow. The Archer does exactly that.'
Future Audio Technology
As AI continues to reshape consumer electronics, devices like the Archer AI Meeting Headset are using AI for features like noise cancellation, real-time translation and intelligent summarization. It's this kind of innovation that will disrupt industry norms by bringing the convenience of AI to a wider range of consumers. The 50dB of noise cancellation is a case in point and breaks previous industry standards.
Demand for audio headsets with extra features like noise cancellation and transcription is growing, especially as more of us work remotely or spend some of our time in hybrid offices. According to TechNavio, by 2029, the global headset market is expected to increase in value by $32.3 billion, a CAGR of 20.7%. The growth is being driven by the uptake of remote communication tools and the extras that AI technology can provide. Oleap hopes to grab a slice of this growing market.
The Oleap Archer AI Meeting Headset is available on Kickstarter and will also be available from Amazon. Prices start at $129.99 for headset or $189.99 with the optional charging case.

Senate bill hastens end of wind, solar tax credits and imposes new tax

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The latest version of the Senate's massive budget bill that the Senate is racing through for a vote as soon as Saturday deals a fatal blow to the use of tax credits in place since 2005 to spur more wind and solar energy and would set a new tax on those projects for the first time, renewable energy proponents said on Saturday. Despite hopes earlier in the week that the Senate would rework the budget megabill's language about the future use of Inflation Reduction Act tax credits to extend their use and make them more usable, the new version of the bill introduced by Senate leadership overnight will effectively repeal the incentives for solar and wind immediately. Instead, it imposes a new tax on wind and solar projects completed after Dec. 31, 2027 if they cannot prove they have not used any Chinese components, while offering a new tax break for coal production. It also accelerates the phase-out of clean energy manufacturing tax credits that have attracted billions in investments throughout the US, especially in Republican states. The clean energy industry and environmental groups decried the last-minute changes to the bill, saying that it will raise household energy costs and deprive the US of new, necessary and fast electricity capacity at a time of massive power demand amid a rush of construction of power-hungry data centers to power AI development. Trump's former advisor and head of DOGE Elon Musk blasted the bill on his social media platform X on Saturday, warning that the bill will "destroy millions of jobs in America" and cause "strategic harm." "It is utterly insane and destructive. It gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future," he said. Energy security organization SAFE said in a statement that the bill, as written, would give an advantage to China, which dominates the clean energy and electric vehicle industries and is racing to outpace the US in AI development by taking away financing for energy storage, mineral processing and power projects. "Where the original Senate version was a recipe for energy stagnation, this is outright energy surrender—all but guaranteeing Chinese dominance of critical minerals, industrial supply chains, and AI development," said Avery Ash, head of government affairs for SAFE. Green energy opponents praised the bill for ending support for renewable energy. Trump on Friday evening called for the end of the credits and said they no longer need support. 'If, as supporters of the IRA are complaining, repealing these subsidies will 'kill' their industry, then maybe it shouldn't exist in the first place," said Tom Pyle, president of the American Energy Alliance.

Modern love: Gen Z turning to AI to do their dating dirty work — breakup texts and apologies

Artificial intelligence is now writing 'It's not you, it's me' texts for Gen Z. A new national survey from dating assistant Wingmate found that 41% of young adults have used AI to help end a relationship, with women slightly more likely than men to let the bots do the dirty work. The survey, which polled over 1,000 U.S. adults who've used AI for dating, shows just how deep AI has embedded itself in modern romance. Nearly half of 18- to 29-year-olds said they've turned to AI tools to write breakup texts, apologies or manage relationship conflict. The most common uses include dating-bio optimization, conversation starters, replying to messages and resolving conflict. Roughly one-third of users sought direct dating advice, and nearly half turned to AI for help writing apologies or other emotionally sensitive messages. For some, it's about simplicity: 29% said dating became 'simpler' with AI, and 21% said it helped them talk to more people. Others said it boosted their confidence — with more than half reporting better conversations when using AI. But when it comes to the end of a relationship, things can get . . . robotic. TikTok features a growing number of videos where users expose breakup messages they claim were clearly AI-generated. One viral post captioned 'When he sends a breakup text that looks entirely written by ChatGPT, em dashes and all' has racked up nearly 240,000 views. Another shows a woman running her breakup message through an AI detector, which immediately labels it 100% GPT-generated. Not everyone's convinced AI belongs in their love lives. While most respondents said it was useful or neutral, a few called it inauthentic and more than one in five admitted they use it but don't tell anyone. Dr. Jess Carbino, former in-house sociologist for Tinder and Bumble, said it can be depriving to outsource the task of breaking up with an individual to AI. 'Individuals might also mistakenly assume that what AI generates in this domain is valid or appropriate, when matters of the heart often are more delicate, require nuance and merit personalization,' Carbino told The Post. Still, many say it helps. With 57% claiming they'd trust AI over a friend for dating advice, the business of AI-powered romance is booming. Third-party services like YourMove AI and Rizz market themselves as full-on dating copilots — offering help with everything from flirty openers to awkward conversations. YourMove, which now claims over 300,000 users, promises to put your texting 'on cruise control.' For $15 a month, it generates text messages in seconds, rewrites bios, boosts photos and critiques dating profiles. Rizz takes a similar approach, offering 'personalized responses that are sure to impress your crush,' with weekly plans starting at $10 — and no clear limit on how much emotional heavy lifting the bot will do. Even ChatGPT offers breakup-specific tools, including a 'Breakup Text Assistant' where users can specify tone, relationship length and how much closure they want to give.

With a $3.8 Trillion Market Cap, Does Nvidia Really Still Have Room to Grow?

Nvidia is the largest publicly traded company in the market, but that doesn't mean it can't still produce strong returns. The business has more growth potential than you might think. Nvidia's capital allocation could drive returns over the long term. 10 stocks we like better than Nvidia › Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) is the largest publicly traded company, with a market cap of about $3.8 trillion on Friday afternoon, and a stock price that's just below its all-time high. Nvidia's growth story has been nothing short of extraordinary. Revenue has grown by nearly 400% over the past two years as AI investment activity has exploded, and that's after an already extremely impressive multidecade history. If you don't already own Nvidia, is it too late to invest? With an estimated 95% share of its most important end markets and nearly $150 billion in revenue over the past four quarters, it's easy to understand why Nvidia's upside from here might appear limited. But I'd argue the opposite. Not only do I think Nvidia's revenue could get much larger from here, but the stock could produce market-beating returns for many years to come. Nvidia has four main business segments: data center, gaming, professional visualization, and automotive. The data center segment is by far the most important. In simple terms, AI-focused applications require a tremendous amount of data processing ability, and Nvidia's data center accelerator products are widely considered to be the gold standard. As mentioned, the company has a dominant (estimated) 95% market share. And the industry itself is growing rapidly. Over the past year, Nvidia's data center segment sales tripled, and the $120 billion global market for data center accelerators is expected to roughly double over the next five years. Data center capital spending -- mostly by large tech companies -- is expected to reach $1 trillion annually in just three years, compared to $500 billion today. In other words, if Nvidia simply maintains its dominant market share, the largest and most critical part of its business could double or more in size by 2030. The company's other segments have lots of room to grow as well. The automotive segment is a big opportunity, as advanced autonomous vehicle technology is still in the early stages of evolution, and Nvidia already has 20 of the top 30 EV manufacturers on its customer roster. In fact, GPUs for automotive applications is expected to be a $45 billion market by 2030, and Nvidia also develops software systems, safety systems, and more for automotive applications. Nvidia's free cash flow hasn't been anywhere near the current level for long, but now that the company is generating boatloads of cash, management is allocating it in shareholder-friendly ways. The company does pay a quarterly dividend, but it's a minuscule one (0.03% yield), at least for now. But buybacks are becoming an increasingly large focus of management. In the first quarter, Nvidia spent more than $14 billion on stock buybacks, which was more than half of the company's free cash flow. However, keep in mind that Nvidia's free cash flow grew by 75% year over year, and is expected to grow rapidly for at least the next few years, so it wouldn't be surprising to see buybacks expand along with it. Finally, Nvidia is not a cheap stock, trading at 48 times trailing 12-month earnings and about 34 times sales. But it isn't necessarily an expensive one. Nvidia's revenue growth (both past and projected) clearly justifies a higher P/E ratio. Analyst estimates call for 44% year-over-year earnings growth in the current fiscal year (ending January 2026) and another 34% in the following year. Plus, the combination of this growth rate and Nvidia's stellar margins (net margin over 50%) warrant an elevated price-to-sales multiple. In fact, by some popular metrics, such as the price/earnings-to-growth (PEG) ratio, Nvidia stock looks rather attractive right now. The bottom line is that a combination of a growing market opportunity, shareholder-friendly capital allocation, and a reasonable valuation could allow Nvidia to continue to grow and produce excellent returns for years to come.
