The charges were handed down following a months-long investigation after authorities received a tip about possible child pornography, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said Tuesday,
On December 24, 2024, authorities in DuPage County received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Data System about two linked cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding possible dissemination and possession of child porn.
On Dec. 30, 2024, officers again received a notice related to Napravnik's alleged activities, regarding the possible dissemination or possession of nine child pornography files.
After an investigation into the tips led authorities to an IP address that was allegedly owned by Napravnik, they obtained a search warrant for his home and executed it on Friday, May 2.
During the search, authorities recovered Napravnik's cell phone and allegedly found seventy-four videos of child pornography on it.
LATEST CASES: Missing people in Chicagoland
Further investigation revealed that Napravnik had also allegedly used an online messaging app to share the child pornography files.
'As I have said many times in the past, child pornography is not a victimless crime,' Berlin said. 'Each one of these disgusting images represents yet another victim of child pornography. The charges filed against Mr. Napravnik and Judge Panoushis' order to detain him pre-trial sends the strong message that DuPage County has zero tolerance for this type of behavior and will aggressively pursue anyone suspected in engaging in such.'
Napravnik is set to return to court on June 2.

Modesto youth soccer coach faces child porn charges, police say
A Turlock man who coaches a youth travel soccer team based out of Modesto is accused of possessing and distributing child pornography, officials said Wednesday. Turlock's Police Department said a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led to the investigation into and the arrest of Matthew Paez, 33. Paez was found to have uploaded child porn files "to an internet-based platform," police said. Several electronic devices found during a search of his home on Meandering Lane are being analyzed for additional evidence. None of the players coached by Paez are believed to be a victim, police said. BOUNTIFUL, Utah () — A Bountiful man has been arrested and charged with allegedly distributing and possessing thousands of files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). READ NEXT: Eagle Mountain man arrested for paying 13-year-old for sexual photos, documents say According to documents, on Jan. 23, 2025, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received information from a service provider about an email account that had uploaded child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This information was sent to the Utah Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. Law enforcement investigated the account, and over the course of time were able to serve several search warrants and court orders that led them to finding Hatfield, a Bountiful resident. On July 15, a search warrant was served at his residence, documents say. Officers made contact with Hatfield, and in an interview, he admitted that the email was his, and he knew that Google had locked the account for 'suspicious activity.' Hatfield allegedly told police that although the email was his, he was not aware of the CSAM on the account and didn't know who could have accessed it. Former Washington Co. Sheriff's deputy charged with allegedly creating CSAM of children During the execution of the search warrant, several of Hatfield's electronic devices were identified and searched. According to documents, CSAM was located on these devices, and more than 2,000 files of CSAM were on his laptop. Not only did Hatfield allegedly possess CSAM, but investigators say he also distributed it, and several files were found in his 'sent' folder. Hatfield was arrested and booked into the Davis County Jail. He is currently being held without bail due to the risk he poses to children online and in the community. Charges are allegations only. All arrested persons are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
