Anurag Basu 's new film 'Metro... In Dino' is winning hearts by taking everyone back to the lanes of love, heartbreak and hope, all set in the middle of lively metro cities. The film, which released on 4th July, brings together a big, talented bunch of actors we all know and love, from Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur to Neena Gupta , Pankaj Tripathi , Konkona Sen Sharma , Ali Fazal , Anupam Kher and Fatima Sana Shaikh. It is being the called spiritual sequel to Basu's popular 2007 film 'Life... In A Metro'. Just like that film, this one too gives us a slice-of-life story about different people and their tangled relationships. Though the film started with a calm pace at the box office, it picked up quite well in its second weekend and is now inching closer to the Rs 40 crore mark. A decent start in cinemas As per early Sacnilk, 'Metro... In Dino' had a decent start in cinemas. In its first seven days, the film collected about Rs 26.85 crore across India. It began its journey on a fair note, earning Rs 3.5 crore on its opening Friday. Monday saw a drop to Rs 2.5 crore, but Tuesday picked up slightly to Rs 3 crore. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo Wednesday brought in Rs 2.35 crore and Thursday was close behind at Rs 2.25 crore. On day 8, which was a Friday again, early estimates suggested it earned Rs 2.25 crore. But it was on day 9, the Saturday, that the film got a lovely boost. In Dino' review 'The Times of India' gave the film a balanced review, highlighting both what worked and what didn't. The review noted, "Despite being largely pleasant, some tracks don't quite add up, feel uneven and don't know where to end. After an engaging build up, the second half feels a tad stretched. You also wish the story scratched the surface a little more, especially for Konkona-Neena Gupta track, where the actors have the potential and gravitas to dig deeper. " At the same time, the review praised the film for bringing back something Bollywood has been missing. It said, "There has been a scarcity of love stories in Bollywood and Metro In Dino, elevated by some fine performances, fills that gap perfectly. It is a breezy, intimate watch tailor-made for a rainy day."
