Johnny Depp Joins Alice Cooper In Surprise Concert Appearance In Honor of Ozzy Osbourne

Yahoo5 days ago
Johnny Depp paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with a special concert appearance three days after the heavy metal icon's death at age 76 on Tuesday, July 22.
Depp, 62, walked on stage during rock legend Alice Cooper's show at The O2 Arena in London on Friday, July 25, to perform the classic Black Sabbath track 'Paranoid,' according to YouTube footage of the event. (Osbourne was Black Sabbath's frontman between 1968 and 1979, and most recently reunited with the original lineup for his final concert in Birmingham on July 5.)
As Depp performed a guitar solo, Cooper stood in for Osbourne on vocals and even wore one of the legendary Black Sabbath singer's T-shirts. Depp stayed on stage for a mashup of Cooper's 1972 single 'School's Out' and the 1979 Pink Floyd hit 'Another Brick in the Wall Part 2.'
The London show was a reunion for Depp and Cooper, as they've previously collaborated as members of the hard rock super group the Hollywood Vampires, along with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry. (The Hollywood Vampires took their name from a social club that Cooper formed in the 1970s with fellow rock luminaries Ringo Starr, Keith Moon of The Who, Micky Dolenz of the Monkees and singer-songwriter Harry Nilsson.)
Tributes have poured in since the Osbourne family confirmed on Tuesday that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee died following a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,' the Osbournes told Us Weekly in a statement. 'He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.'
Ozzy Osbourne Made Poignant Instagram Post the Day Before His Death
Osbourne's original Black Sabbath bandmates — guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward — acknowledged that they'd 'lost [a] brother' in respective social media statements.
'I just can't believe it! My dear dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park,' Iommi, 77, wrote. 'It's just such heartbreaking news that I can't really find the words, there won't ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill and myself have lost our brother.'
Butler, 76, added, 'Goodbye dear friend — thanks for all those years — we had some great fun. 4 kids from Aston — who'd have thought, eh? So glad we got to do it one last time, back in Aston. Love you.'
Ward, 77, stressed that, despite their 'unspoken embraces' and 'missed phone calls,' Osbourne would be 'forever in [his] heart.'
'Deepest condolences to Sharon and all family members,' the drummer went on. 'RIP Sincere regrets to all the fans. Never goodbye. Thank you forever.'
Osbourne's immense influence and pop culture impact were felt in the sheer amount of tributes he received from the entertainment industry.
'Whether we were in our basements with our brothers, in the woods with our buddies, in the car, at a keg party, on a boat, at football practice, at a sleepover … Nobody was more badass to crank up on our speakers than the one and only prince of darkness — Ozzy Osborne!' Adam Sandler memorialized via X. 'Loved him a lot like we all did! Sending love to the family and so happy to have spent time with the legend himself. RIP.'
Singer-songwriter YungBlud wrote that Osbourne's legacy would be evident in 'every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage.'
'You asked me once if there was anything you could do for me and as I said then and as I will say now for all of us the music was enough,' the 'Tongue Tied' musician, 27, continued. 'You took us on your adventure — an adventure that started it all. I am truly heartbroken. You were the greatest of all time.'
Ozzy is survived by his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and six children: Elliot, Jessica and Louis from his first marriage to Thelma Riley, as well as Aimee, Kelly and Jack from his marriage to Sharon.

Pubisher and Spider-Man Set to Clash in Reported Major Action Scene For SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY — GeekTyrant

The web-slinger is about to go head-to-head with Marvel's most brutal vigilante. With production kicking off on Spider-Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow, Scotland, new intel teases a major confrontation between Spider-Man and The Punisher . According to insider Daniel Richtman, fans can expect a high-stakes brawl involving a Department of Damage Control (DODC) convoy. "I heard that tomorrow they'll be filming a big action scene with Punisher and Spider-Man fighting over a DODC transport convoy," Richtman revealed. If Frank Castle is gunning for someone in that transport, it's likely someone he sees as deserving his lethal brand of justice. Naturally, Peter Parker won't let that happen on his watch. This DODC connection ties neatly into what we've seen in previous MCU Spider-Man films, where the organization has played a significant role in cleanup and containment. The presence of their convoy implies whatever or whoever they're transporting is a big deal. So who's in the crosshairs? Rumors range from Bruce Banner to Mister Negative, or even a smaller-time threat like Boomerang. Recent set photos show a military-style vehicle that might be DODC property. Some fans have pointed out a devilish logo on the side, which could hint at Mister Negative's Inner Demons making an appearance. Word is The Punisher will be behind the wheel of one of these armored rides. As filming kicks off, early reports suggest rehearsals are happening ahead of a full shoot on Sunday. So while we haven't seen Tom Holland in costume just yet, it's only a matter of time before Spidey swings into action. We did get a tease of the costume, though! And while bringing The Punisher into Spider-Man's world is a big and exciting move, don't hold your breath for Charlie Cox's Daredevil to join the mix just yet. That team-up might be off the table for now. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters July 31, 2026.

‘Mafia: The Old Country' Is Bringing Back Something Gamers Want

I've heard a lot of chatter lately about a certain kind of nostalgia, one that yearns for a particular era of gaming—let's call it when the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 reigned supreme. This was a time when games were typically far more digestible (10-20-ish hours to fully complete), had little padding and also sported lower price tags, usually somewhere in the $50-60 range for many AAA titles. I'm talking about notable marquee experiences like Uncharted or Halo 3 or Gears of War. Today, the same sort of games usually start at $70 and go up from there: Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, for example. Astro Bot did launch at $60, so kudos to Sony for being pro-consumer there, and the polished 3D platformer is worth every penny, in my humble opinion. Still, you'll pay $80 for a standalone copy of Mario Kart World on Nintendo's Switch 2, although to be fair, I remember paying $70-90 at retail for Super Nintendo games back in the early '90s, and $40-70 for original PlayStation titles during roughly the same time period, so perhaps games have gotten relatively cheaper over the years. Or at the very worst, they've stayed around the same price. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder Yes, modern game budgets have ballooned out of control, so I guess the money needs to be made up somewhere, but this occurs in an industry that habitually, routinely, even flippantly I'd argue, lays off its talent in sweeping, impersonal waves. Of course, this is happening while publishers make billions of dollars from the hard work. I'll blame AI for now, and greedy executives, too. But maybe, just maybe, we're finally self-correcting and heading in a slightly healthier direction. 2K's upcoming franchise prequel, Mafia: The Old Country, is launching on August 8 for a reasonable and rather old-school $49.99, $10 less than the aforementioned first-party Astro Bot. Is the game AAA in quality? I suppose that judgement is subjective, but from the preliminary footage, it certainly looks to be the case. According to IGN, who published a solid (if somewhat spoiler-filled) hands-on preview of The Old Country, the $50 asking price isn't the only return-to-form aspect of the game. The newest Mafia entry ditches Mafia III's notably out-of-character pivot into open world gameplay and returns to the series narrative-driven, linear approach. One could posit that the industry's general obsession with open world premises and hyper-realistic visuals has outright lead to the problematic budgets I previously mentioned, so positioning The Old Country as a game which sports perfectly acceptable graphics and a campaign that won't take you three months to complete… well, this could please a lot of gamers, including myself. As IGN's Ryan McCaffrey touches on in the video preview, a lot of us aging gamers have children now, as well as jobs and obligations and busy lives. Thus, 40-plus hour adventures just don't hit the way they used to, don't boast the same kind of appeal. There's no official word yet from developer Hangar 13 on The Old Country's overall length, but the welcome throwback vibe is already apparent. This will likely be a game that you can play through in a weekend or two, or in short spurts during evenings after work and getting the kids to bed. Combine this with a potentially engaging story and that attractive $50 price tag, and 2K could have a winning formula on its hands, one that harkens back to an era when I wasn't worried about the mortgage or kindergarten or doing the dishes. Speaking of, I need to get back to scrubbing.

Man Utd club shop bans supporters from printing names of legendary trio on back of shirts due to key licensing issue

Fans cannot print name of three legends on their shirt United do not own player trademarks Sign at club shop informs confused fans Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? Reported by Manchester Evening News, the three players in question are legendary No. 7s Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Eric Cantona. United do not own the trademark to any of the trio of former players' names, which means they are not licensed to print them on the back of shirts. THE BIGGER PICTURE The report states that this has been the case for several years and not just at United, as Real Madrid do not have the rights to print the legendary Ronaldo's name either, despite his status as one of the club's greatest-ever players. With this in mind, the recent craze around retro football shirts makes sense as it gives fans the chance to sport the names of their favourite players from the past on their backs, on shirts which were printed at a time when the player in question was at the club. In the case of Ronaldo, Beckham and Cantona, these shirts must be very rare to find indeed. WHAT FANS HAVE SAID United fans expressed their confusion at the licensing rule on social media. One fan said on X: "That's really weird." "Modern football just gets weirder," another added. A third said: "What if I call my son Beckham and he wants his own name on his shirt?" Another stated: "How can you copyright a name lol I'm pretty sure there's more people with those names." WHAT NEXT FOR MAN UTD? The Red Devils face Everton and Fiorentina in their final pair of pre-season fixtures before Mikel Arteta's Arsenal visit Old Trafford on August 17. Ruben Amorim's side will be looking for a major improvement on their unprecedented struggles last campaign and may look to complete further transfer business before the campaign gets underway.
