Matt Rife Is The Guardian Of The Annabelle Doll

Matt Rife Is The Guardian Of The Annabelle Doll

Annabelle has a new babysitter!
Comedian Matt Rife just announced that he and YouTuber Elton Castee purchased the home of Ed and Lorraine Warren.
According to his video, Matt said he is now "the legal guardian for at least the next 5 years" of the Warrens' "haunted collection," which includes the seemingly haunted Annabelle doll.
Ed and Lorraine were paranormal investigators depicted in the Conjuring franchise by actors Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. The pair founded the Warren Occult Museum where they housed the allegedly haunted artifacts from their investigations.
"We do not legally own the items, but we are the legal guardians and caretakers of the items," Matt said, adding that fans will have a chance to "book a night or weekend" in the Warrens' former home, as an Airbnb. Why on earth anybody in their right mind would want to do that is beyond me.
"If you know me, you know I'm obsessed with the paranormal and all things haunted. You also may know The Conjuring films are my favorite scary movies of all time. So I'm incredibly honored to have taken over one of the most prominent properties in paranormal history," Matt wrote in a caption alongside several Instagram photos of Ed and Lorraine.
"Ed and Lorain[sic] Warren arguably put demonology and paranormal into the mainstream and are the very heart of some of the most famous haunted stories of all time, The Conjuring House, Amityville Horror, et…"
Annabelle, which was actually a Raggedy Ann doll, was allegedly moving on its own, according to a student nurse in the '70s. The dramatization with Patrick and Vera led to sequels and other movies about the Warrens and their haunted artifacts.
In addition to the overnight stays, Matt and Elton plan to open the house for museum tours to learn of the "haunted history" surrounding the area. According to Today.com, Tony Spera, the son-in-law of Warrens' said that he and his wife still own the doll and the Warrens' other alleged haunted artifacts but are leasing them to Matt and Elton.
While the quirky comedian is obviously stoked to take on this project, his fans are rightfully creeped out given the history of the horrors within that house.
One person wrote, "DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT TOUCH ANYTHING!!"
"RIP buddy. It's been nice knowing ya," another person wrote.
"If you disappear randomly we know why," someone else said.
Of course, people couldn't help but find the humor in all this. Somebody said, "Would be very funny if he was very clearly actually possessed during his next special. Doing crowd work like 'Does anyone else here love being an evil doll?'"
Republican personality Kimberly Klacik randomly said, "He's too hot to risk his life like this. These are ugly people activities."
If you've seen Longlegs than you'll get this joke:
Other folks expressed concern that this might not be good for the Warrens' legacy and criticized Matt and Elton's involvement. "This makes me so sad for the doll like no way does she want this," one person wrote.
Another person said, "Please honor them and don't turn everthign they've built into a joke."
"I hope that people who book stays are respectful to the space."
And finally, on a good note, someone said, "Congrats on the purchase. I know you guys are gonna resepct all the items that are in there."
What are your thoughts about Matt Rife becoming the caretaker of Annabelle and the house of creepy artifacts? Sound off in the comments.

"Our Dry Shampoo just dropped 🩶 … and IT'S SO GOOD! I hope you love too! 🥰 @lolavie," Aniston wrote in the caption of her latest Instagram post. In the clip, the Friends star dons a trendy curve cut, a longer version of her iconic '90s-era lob. 'The curve cut, also known as the C-cut, is a layered haircut where the shortest layers frame the face, and the remaining layers become longer as they reach the back of the hair, which, in turn, creates a curve that resembles a C-shape,' hairstylist Annagjid 'Kee' Taylor told InStyle in 2023. At its core, 'The Rachel' is all about flippy sections styled round, a softer approach for severe layers. The contemporary curve cut (which is typically a touch longer than its prototype) has found fans in tastemakers like Hailey Bieber, Laura Harrier, and Lucy Hale. The cut is so flattering because it can work on so many hair types and can really frame the face to accentuate your facial features,' Taylor said. Earlier this year, Aniston celebrated her 56th birthday with a never-before-seen throwback photo. In the snapshot, the young star sassily posed with her head tilted to the side, as she fixed her hair with one hand and wore a patterned skirt and dark-colored tank top. And while her hair at the time wasn't exactly "The Rachel" cut everyone knows and loves today, Aniston still was sporting a head full of layered locks complete with bangs. "Thank you for all the beautiful birthday wishes! This kid is feeling very grateful and very loved," Aniston wrote alongside the black-and-white photo on Instagram. Michelle Obama calls husband Barack Obama 'my everything' in sweet birthday post

Michelle Obama shared a sweet message for her husband, former president Barack Obama, on his birthday. The former first lady took to Instagram and shared a photo with Barack Obama, along with a sweet note. "Happy birthday to my love, my best friend, my everything!" she wrote. "@BarackObama, even after all these years, you're still the coolest guy I know. 💕" Barack Obama replied in the comments and wrote, "Love you, Miche! And thanks everybody for all the birthday wishes." The sweet note comes months after Michelle Obama set the record straight about her marriage to Barack Obama. During a conversation with Sophia Bush on the "Work in Progress" podcast in April, she addressed divorce rumors that have circulated about her and the former president after he had attended several events solo earlier this year. In July, she and Barack Obama also laughed off divorce rumors during an episode of her and her brother's podcast, "IMO." "There hasn't been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quittin' my man. And we've had some really hard times," Michelle Obama said. "We have had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I'm married to." Barack and Michelle Obama wed in Chicago in 1992.

Duchess Meghan turns 44: British royal gets sweet birthday shoutout from As Ever brand

Duchess Meghan may be busy building her business kingdom, but today she's being crowned. The British American royal and entrepreneur, who turned 44 on Monday, Aug. 4, received a warm birthday shoutout on Instagram from her lifestyle brand As Ever, which launched in April to fan acclaim. The company, which has become known for its homey aesthetic and assortment of fruit spreads, herbal teas and baking mixes, shared a black-and-white photo of the duchess wearing a sun dress and wide-brimmed hat alongside its celebratory message. "Celebrating the woman behind it all," the company wrote in the post's caption. "She pours her heart, vision and magic touch into every detail, and today, we raise a glass to her! Happy birthday to our founder @meghan 🥂" See Duchess Meghan's daughter Lilibet: Young princess makes adorable cameo in As Ever teaser Meghan, who is married to Prince Harry, has yet to share any glimpses of her birthday festivities with her 4.1 million Instagram followers. The Duchess of Sussex has been more open about her family life with Harry, which includes children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with a series of candid posts. Meghan first teased As Ever in March 2024 when she made a buzzy return to Instagram after a yearslong social media hiatus to introduce fans to the lifestyle project, formerly named American Riviera Orchard. The duchess later revealed she renamed the brand As Ever because the previous title, a reference to her and Harry's Montecito residence, "limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area." The first As Ever drop sold out in under an hour, and one product — the limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb for $28 — had fans buzzing, selling out in less than five minutes. The featured products in the company's first collection included $12 herbal tea in three flavors: hibiscus, peppermint and lemon ginger. 'You have to be authentic': Duchess Meghan responds to twerking video backlash The lifestyle brand teased its upcoming release, a vintage rosé wine, in an Instagram video on Aug. 3. "Goodness in a glass. Right around the corner... Cheers to August!" the company wrote alongside the teaser. As Ever is produced alongside Netflix, which also distributes Meghan's lifestyle show "With Love, Meghan." The series premiered in March and was quickly renewed for a second season, although a release date has not been announced. Contributing: Taijuan Moorman and Jay Stahl, USA TODAY
