Antilia, a private residence owned by Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, is one of the most expensive and stunning homes in the world. The 27-storey skyscraper in Mumbai is equipped with extraordinary features, including an ice cream parlor, a grand banquet hall, 49 bedrooms, 168 parking spaces, a snow room, a private theatre, nine lifts, and even three helipads.
It is to be noted that there is no scarcity of luxury in Mukesh Ambani's home, Antilia, a residence valued at around Rs 15,000 crore. However, what has stunned several netizens is the fact that the luxurious mansion doesn't have a single outdoor air conditioner unit. Antilia doesn't use a conventional air conditioning system. So, how does it remain cool? Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani's Rs 15000 crore Antilia doesn't have AC?
The rumor isn't completely false — Antilia doesn't use traditional air conditioning with outdoor units. This choice was made to maintain the mansion's distinct and elegant appearance.
Antilia, designed by the Chicago-based architecture firm Perkins and Will, doesn't have a single outdoor AC unit. Instead, the entire house is equipped with a sophisticated centralized cooling system that maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the residence.
Even in the sweltering heat of Mumbai, Antilia stays cool without any outdoor AC units. This is made possible by a centralized cooling system that naturally regulates the temperature using elements like marble, flowers, and plants integrated throughout the home.
Actor Shreya Dhanwanthary once recalled her visit to industrialist Mukesh Ambani's Antilia mansion. She asked to raise the temperature because she felt cold, but was told it couldn't be adjusted since the flowers and marble needed the cooler setting. 'Ma'am, we are really sorry, but the flowers and the marble require a specific temperature,' the manager was quoted as saying by media reports. To which she replied, 'Oh, okay, then,' and turned around.
The ultra-luxurious Antilia has a special central cooling system that fits perfectly with the home's unique design. Unlike regular ACs with big outdoor units, this system is built into the house in a way that keeps it cool while also looking good.

AI disruptions will be brief as reskilling drives new jobs: IT Min

New Delhi/ Bengaluru Disruptionsfrom Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be brief and new jobs will emerge, Karnataka's IT and Biotechnology Minister Priyank Kharge has said, highlighting the state's large-scale reskilling initiatives are underway to prepare talent for new-age technologies. In an interview with PTI, Kharge asserted that Karnataka retains a comfortable lead over others in technology, with strong data and performance vectors backing its position. The state encourages innovation and collaboration, ensuring 'that any entrepreneur or corporation who dreams of making it big globally, starts from Karnataka', he noted. On the issue of disruptions due to AI, the minister said, Nipuna Karnataka, the state's large-scale reskilling and upskilling initiative, aims at safeguarding and future-proofing its talent pool. 'While there might be certain job losses, new jobs will be that is why we need a massive reskilling and upskilling programme. So, there will be disruption, but the disruption will be for a brief while, until we are able to reskill and upskill people,' he said. Nipuna Karnataka is a Rs 300 crore reskilling initiative, industry-driven and industry-focused, with ambitious targets to train talent at scale, he added. In the coming financial year, the state government aims to skill individuals in key areas, like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and other technologies, in line with the global tech demands. 'We intend to scale over 5,00,000 people in the coming financial year, in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and anything that the industry might need. So, we are closely talking to them through our skill council for emerging technologies, taking their feedback, taking their curriculum, and seeing how we can ensure that we give the most affordable and most talented human resources for them. 'And this programme is just not catering to the local ecosystem, we are catering to the global ecosystem also,' Kharge noted. He said Karnataka retains its lead over others, and data ranging from IT exports to startups and GCCs play, underscores its competitive strengths. 'We are far ahead of the curve when it comes to our neighbours or neighbouring states. So, while we love competition, we are not afraid of it. It also helps us pull up our socks,' he said. As many as 20,000 startups are registered with the state government, he said, adding that of 110 unicorns, more than 45 are from Bengaluru. 'We contribute 21 per cent of the national bioeconomy, and 65 per cent of defence electronics manufacturing happens in Karnataka. And GCCs, we have close to over 800 GCCs and their units, totalling about 1,500,' Kharge said. The same trend is evident in office space demand, real estate leasing, and GCC momentum. 'Last year, we gobbled up close to around 47 per cent of the entire country's real estate for GCCs. This year, just in the last six months, 13.1 million square feet has been given only for GCCs. So, where is the competition? I don't see that,' Kharge said. The minister emphasised that the state's policies are backed by strong, actionable outcomes like the recent Quantum Roadmap. 'We are just not announcing mere policies for the sake of announcing them. So, when we keep the Karnataka quantum roadmap in front, people believe is because over the years, we have managed to build a strong foundation of skills. 'We have topped that with incubators, and we have topped up with centres of excellence across sectors. So, I run more than 25 centres of excellence from agritech to space tech. And through these, we are innovating and inventing. On top of that, we have put budgets. On top of that, we put policies,' Kharge said.

Figma sheds $11 billion in market value days after blockbuster IPO

Shares of Figma slumped 23% on profit taking on Monday, as euphoria over the design software firm waned days after its blockbuster initial public offering. San Francisco, California-based Figma shares had scored a massive 250% gain during their market debut on Thursday when they were priced at $33 but finished at $115.50, giving the company a market capitalisation of about $56.3 billion. Figma's market value closed at $59.5 billion on Friday after its shares rose 5.6% to $122. The shares traded as low as $92.75 on Monday, down 23%, reducing its market value to about $45.2 billion. "The excitement for Figma's business is not over, but the euphoria that's gone into its heady stock pricing seems to be deflating as those that wanted an early piece of the action bought in during market hours while some IPO recipients are probably taking sweet profits," said Michael Ashley Schulman, chief investment officer at Running Point Capital in Los Angeles. Founded in 2012 and led by CEO Dylan Field, Figma provides cloud-based collaborative design tools, with a roster of marquee clients including Alphabet, Microsoft, Netflix and Uber. Field owns about 54.2 million Figma shares worth about $5 billion after selling 2.35 million shares in the IPO. As is common in many Silicon Valley startups, Field retains 74.1% voting power over Figma given his holdings of Class B shares. Adobe had abandoned a $20 billion deal to acquire Figma in 2023 following antitrust pushback from regulators in Europe and the UK. "With Figma at a $46 billion market capitalisation, Adobe's failed buyout offer must now seem like a distant memory," Schulman added.
