Prison fears for Ross and Mack in Emmerdale as plot goes horribly wrong
Ross Barton (Michael Parr) and Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) are looking at a hefty stint inside after a drug deal goes wrong in Emmerdale.
Ever since they discovered Lewis' (Bradley Riches) magnificent stash of marijuana plants in his loft, the two have been seeing pound signs. They see this little drug dealing side hustle as the perfect way to save Moira's (Natalie J Robb) farm, without considering any of the consequences of getting involved in a drug dealing side hustle.
When Lewis grew desperate and asked for Ross' help to move his weed, Ross saw an opportunity to blackmail his way into a deal.
Now after control of this illegal business, Ross tries to get Lewis to sell the haul to a proper drug dealer for big bucks, but Lewis is sceptical. Mack tries to remind him they're doing this for Moira, but Lewis is not convinced.
Lewis reveals his true motivations behind his horticultural business – he wants to help people who need the plants for pain meds who otherwise wouldn't have access to it. Ross gives in, he can't go against his brother and his somewhat noble deeds – the Robin Hood of the weed world, and vows to let him control things.
But unbeknownst to them, sneaky Mack has gone behind their backs and agreed a deal with an old contact, Ray (Joe Absolom). It's a cold and dangerous move. More Trending
Lewis is distraught when he learns of this betrayal and takes it out on Ross. Ross is equally as peeved at Mack for his part in their fractured brotherhood, so when Ray makes a surprise visit to inspect the stock he's purchasing, Mack is left in a tricky situation not being able to complete the deal, with Ross refusing to help. Ray wants his crop and he's not someone who hears the word 'no'.

The next day, the entire haul of plants is gone. Ross is fuming but Mack swears it wasn't him. There are fears that Ray may have helped himself to the marijuana, but equally they worry Lewis is now hording enough of the stuff to get himself sent down. Either way, they are now all involved in something big and something dark.
With 'villainous' newcomer Ray in the picture and with enough class B drug knocking around that would confirm intent to supply, are the lads looking at a stretch inside if they get found out?

Lewis Capaldi's new song shoots to No1 days after comeback Glastonbury performance
The emotional song, which charts his battle with anxiety and Tourette's, marks another successful comeback by the singer who performed at the festival unannounced. Lewis Capaldi has scored his sixth No1 single two years after taking a lengthy break from music to deal with his mental health. The Scots singer's latest song Survive was released on Friday, hours before he made a surprise appearance on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury in the TBA slot. The emotional song, which charts his battle with anxiety and Tourette's, marks another successful comeback by the singer who performed at the festival unannounced. The song has become the nation's biggest selling track of the week with Someone You Loved also tipped by the Official Charts Company to re-enter the Top 20. Survive had been described by 28-year old Lewis's team as 'a bold and brave new anthem that underscores a challenging period in his career that ended at Glastonbury 2023 when the Pyramid Stage crowd helped carry an emotional Capaldi over the finish line.' In it, he sings, 'I swear to God I'll survive, if it kills me to, I'm gonna' get up and try, if it's the last thing I'll do.' The much-loved singer, from Whitburn, West Lothian – subsequently took an 'extended break' from the music business, but drew a packed crowd at Glastonbury on Friday with his surprise set. The singer struggled after achieving global success in 2019 when his breakthrough single charted in 29 countries and remained at No1 for seven weeks. His debut album Divinely Inspired To A Hellish Extent and the 2023 follow up Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent also topped the charts. The worldwide success and adulation took its toll and he stayed out of the limelight before playing the Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage to one of the weekend's biggest crowds. He fought back the tears several times during the show at the Worthy Farm site and was met with a deafening roar having taken the stage. He said: 'The last three years haven't been the best for me. It's been a difficult time. This has been my f***ing goal, to get back here doing this,' adding, 'The second time's a charm. I've really really missed doing this over the last few years. As I say, it's been difficult at times to think that this maybe wouldn't ever happen again. Genuinely from the bottom of my heart, it means the f***ing world.' The festival was largely overshadowed by the war in Gaza with police investigating incidents during sets by punk duo Bob Vylan and Belfast trio Kneecap. On Sunday, Rod Stewart provided one of the highlights of the weekend when he performed in the Legends spot on the Pyramid stage, with a hit-packed set. He was yet another artist to talk politics as he told the crowd: "There has been a lot of talk recently about the Middle East, rightly so, and I want to draw your attention to Ukraine." His guests included Simply Red's Mick Hucknall, Lulu and former Faces bandmate and Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood before the Sunday night headliner Olivia Rodrigo wrapped up the weekender.

ITV 'sign up' huge soap actor and I'm A Celeb star for big money gameshow
ITV have reportedly made a huge move to sign up two actors with great 'charisma' to present a brand new gameshow to be aired on Saturday nights TV fans are set for a real treat with ITV's latest gameshow signings, according to reports. It's suggested the channel is to welcome an "amazing duo on-screen" to front a new gameshow. Claims suggest the top secret new Saturday evening show is set to air next year. And at the helm is said to be Rivals duo Danny Dyer and Emily Atack. The former EastEnders man, 47, and star of The Inbetweeners, 35, will reportedly start filming to project later this year. It comes after their successful performance on Disney+'s Rivals. The series, based on Jilly Cooper's bonkbuster books, was well received by fans and saw the duo roundly praised for their roles. Now, a source has claimed it's this accoladed that had the ITV bosses clamouring to sign the duo. Speaking to the Sun, a source said: "Bosses have been impressed with Danny and Emily's charisma on Rivals and thought they'd make an amazing duo on-screen to freshen up their entertainment talent. 'They're an unlikely pair but have appeared on a few panel shows together and have plenty of fun energy that is perfect for the tone that ITV want to set. Producers are keen to trial new presenting partnerships to get people talking, and both Emily and Danny have huge appeal.' And they added: "ITV is constantly trying to create the next big show and duo. It's about getting the chemistry just right.' It continues Danny's huge life turnaround. The actor has been open about his previous struggles in recent years. He revealed the moment of clarity to make a change to his life after he was 'slowly killing himself' as he was 'off his head' after the National TV Awards. Looking back at his plight with interviewer Louis Theroux, Danny said previously he knew he was 'destroying himself' and his career. And he admitted that at the time he was on EastEnders playing Mick Carter, but he would head into rehab in Cape Town in 2016. He said: "I had a moment of clarity where I had been on it all night after the NTAs. I think I'd won and that's always on like a Tuesday or something and I had to go to work. There's another thing with EastEnders, is that they go, yeah, come celebrate NTAs, but you are up at seven in the morning. So anyway, I'd just overdone it again and I just could not work out how to get my jeans on. 'I was just sitting on my ensuite toilet trying to work out what leg goes in what, and I don't why. I've sort of had many of them moments over the years of me being completely off my head. " But that one really resonated with me. It was more because I looked up, my wife was just watching me and she looked shattered and she looked ill." As he continued to open up about the moment, he then revealed he made the decision to go to rehab in Cape Town after this awards show after-party at his house. Dad-of-three Danny also previously told the BBC receiving a letter from his daughter Dani while at a rehab facility in 2016 was what convinced him to continue his treatment.

I live-streamed Kneecap's Glastonbury set when the BBC wouldn't — here's why
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Helen Wilson has been going to Glastonbury for 26 years, but she never thought she would go viral on social media for being at the festival. The music fan from Somerset has been hailed as a 'legend' not only online, but by Irish rap trio Kneecap, after live-streaming their West Holts stage performance on TikTok to two million viewers. In the scorching heat, Helen even burned her fingers after holding up her phone for an hour to show her support for the group, whose performance wasn't being shown by the BBC. Metro reporter Danni Scott walked the length of Worthy Farm to find Helen. She asked her about the decision to stream the performance, and the reaction since. Speaking exclusively to Metro, Helen said: 'I am a [Kneecap] fan, and so I've been aware of their plight. 'I'm also aware of what's happening in Palestine, and the controversy surrounding the band and the discussion from the BBC's point of view that they weren't going to air the set. 'So, that was something that a lot of people were talking about even before the festival started.' Helen, who is working at a bar at Glastonbury, wasn't supposed to be at the set, but was given an hour off to watch the performance. Speaking of her decision to go live to millions of viewers, she said: 'I'd thought about it before because I knew that the BBC had said that they weren't going to be showing the set, and I really believe in free speech.' 'I also think that as lovers of music, we have to do things to support the artists that we believe in, and when there's censorship coming from large media institutions such as the BBC I think it's up to people like me to step in. 'To do something that thousands of people across the UK and beyond can actually see what's happening, because if you watch over TikTok, you'll see the volume of love and support that was there, and actually that's what I wanted everyone outside these fields to see.' The BBC released a statement confirming it has put Kneecap's Glastonbury set on iPlayer, but with some edits. The corporation did not broadcast the set live. More Trending 'We have made an on-demand version of Kneecap's performance available on iPlayer, as part of our online collection of more than 90 other sets,' the BBC says in a new statement this morning. 'We have edited it to ensure the content falls within the limits of artistic expression in line with our editorial guidelines and reflects the performance from Glastonbury's West Holts stage. 'As with all content which includes strong language, this is signposted with appropriate warnings.' Helen added in a statement shared with Metro: 'Glastonbury stands for freedom. Streaming Kneecap's set was my way of honouring that legacy and sharing it far beyond the fields of Worthy Farm.' Got a story?
