Doroni Aerospace Responds to FAA Finalization of MOSAIC Rule: A Transformational Shift for Personal Air Mobility

Miami, Florida--(Newsfile Corp. - July 31, 2025) - Doroni Aerospace, developer of the H1-X personal electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, today issued a formal response to the FAA's finalization of the Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification (MOSAIC) rule. This regulatory shift marks the most significant development to date for the future of personal flight in the United States and directly advances Doroni's path to market. Photo credit: Doroni Aerospace To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: The final MOSAIC rule formally expands the Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) category to include powered-lift aircraft and electric propulsion systems. It removes outdated weight restrictions and allows manufacturers to certify aircraft using industry-developed consensus standards. The rule also simplifies pilot requirements, allowing qualified individuals to operate aircraft like the H1-X with a sport pilot certificate and a valid U.S. driver's license. "This is the regulatory moment we've been building toward since the beginning," said Doron Merdinger, CEO and Founder of Doroni Aerospace. "Until today, the H1-X existed in a regulatory gray zone. Now, the FAA has officially created a category that fits the exact kind of vehicle we've spent years engineering-a safe, sustainable, and intuitive aircraft designed for personal ownership. This transforms our certification roadmap, expands our customer base, and validates our vision of making flight part of everyday life." Doron Merdinger, CEO of Doroni Aerospace. To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: The FAA's rule directly addresses key barriers that previously limited the certification and adoption of lightweight electric aircraft. These include: Aircraft Category Clarity: The H1-X, which previously exceeded the LSA weight limit, now fits within the new MOSAIC criteria. The FAA now uses stall speed, not weight, as the defining metric. Simplified Pilot Access: Sport pilots no longer need an FAA medical certificate. With the proper endorsements, they can operate more complex aircraft and fly at night, significantly increasing utility and access. Accelerated Certification: The use of consensus-based standards offers a faster and more cost-effective path to approval than traditional Part 23 certification, reducing risk and enabling earlier market entry. MOSAIC's recognition of simplified flight controls also supports Doroni's mission to make flying as intuitive as driving. With a human-centered control interface and multiple safety redundancies, the H1-X is built to be a practical, everyday aircraft. To view an enhanced version of this graphic, please visit: "This landmark rule aims to increase the availability of safe, modern, and affordable aircraft for recreational aviation, flight training, and certain aerial work," said FAA Administrator, Bryan Bedford in a news release. "It enables industry to meet the growing demand for more versatile aircraft with higher performance capabilities while maintaining high standards of safety." This regulatory advancement reshapes the conversation around eVTOL ownership. What was once a forward-looking concept is now supported by federal policy and a clear path to commercialization. About Doroni Aerospace Founded in 2017, Doroni Aerospace is a U.S.-based company developing the H1-X-a two-seat personal eVTOL aircraft designed for everyday use. With electric propulsion, vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, and an emphasis on intuitive control and enhanced safety, Doroni's mission is to make flight accessible, immersive, and sustainable. The H1-X is currently in advanced prototype development, with full-scale demonstration and certification efforts underway.

Design software maker Figma's shares surge 158% in blowout market debut

Traders work on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in New York City. (Photo by) Figma's shares surged nearly 158 per cent in their market debut on Thursday valuing the design software maker at about US$50 billion, setting the stage for a flurry of high-growth tech listings and strengthening a rebound in the IPO market. The U.S. initial public offerings market has bounced back after tariff-driven volatility briefly paused listings in April, putting 2025 on track to end a nearly three-year dry spell. Figma's valuation at debut far exceeds the $20 billion price tag from a now-abandoned buyout deal with industry giant Adobe in December 2023. 'Fast-growing software IPOs have been extremely rare during the past three years, so deals like this tend to get a lot of attention,' said Matt Kennedy, senior strategist at Renaissance Capital, a provider of IPO-focused research and ETFs. 'Because of this three-year bottleneck, tech IPO investors have been starved for new deals.' The stock opened for trading at $85 apiece on the New York Stock Exchange, compared with the initial public offering price of $33. Recent tech IPOs have drawn strong investor interest and delivered solid post-listing gains, fueling optimism around new offerings from high-growth and AI-focused firms. 'From a private markets perspective, Figma's IPO is a bellwether event for the tech sector,' said Derek Hernandez, senior analyst, emerging technology at PitchBook. Figma makes collaborative design software used to build websites, apps and digital products, and customers include streaming giant Netflix, travel firm Airbnb and language learning app Duolingo. Its prominent backers include Silicon Valley venture capital giants Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia. 'If you look at Figma's positioning around AI, and the ability to deliver massively improved experiences to its customers with AI, that was not obvious back in 2022,' said Andrew Reed, a partner at Sequoia Capital and a board member of Figma. Sequoia Capital first invested in Figma at $1.10 a share during the company's Series C round. With Figma pricing its IPO at $33 a share, Sequoia stands to make a significant return on its roughly $150 million investment, according to a source familiar with the matter. Meanwhile, the broader markets touched new record highs on Thursday as Microsoft's blockbuster earnings fueled investor confidence in Big Tech's hefty investments in artificial intelligence. .N AI Race Design software firms are racing to integrate generative-AI tools that automate tasks such as image creation, layout suggestions and code generation, as companies jostle to win enterprise clients and creative teams. Figma, in its IPO filing, flagged intense competition, particularly from rapid AI adoption, as a potential headwind, warning it could cede market share. 'We've embedded different flavors of AI - both to lower the floor (and) allow more people to participate in the design process - while also raising the ceiling for individuals (and) for companies to be able to have even more high craft in what they're creating,' said Chief Financial Officer Praveer Melwani. The effort has accelerated since Adobe, Microsoft and others began rolling out AI features aimed at speeding up workflows and cutting costs. 'Software companies with a strong AI element to them seem to be assets that investors want to buy,' said Will Braeutigam, U.S. capital markets transactions leader at Deloitte. Figma, for its part, has rolled out several products built around AI as it looks to stay competitive and meet growing demand for automation in design workflows. 'If this company didn't have an AI strategy, it would not be seeing this level of demand,' Renaissance Capital's Kennedy said. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Allen & Co and J.P. Morgan are the lead underwriters of the IPO. Google loses U.S. appeal over app store reforms in Epic Games case

Alphabet's Google on Thursday failed to persuade a U.S. appeals panel to overturn a jury verdict and federal court order requiring the technology company to revamp its app store Play. The San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a unanimous ruling, rejected claims from Google that the trial judge made legal errors in the antitrust case that unfairly benefited 'Fortnite' maker Epic Games, which filed the lawsuit in 2020. Epic accused Google of monopolizing how consumers access apps on Android devices and pay for transactions within apps. The Cary, North Carolina-based company convinced a San Francisco jury in 2023 that Google illegally stifled competition. U.S. District Judge James Donato in San Francisco ordered Google in October to restore competition by allowing users to download rival app stores within its Play store and by making Play's app catalog available to those competitors, among other reforms. Donato's order was on hold pending the outcome of the 9th Circuit appeal. The court's decision can be appealed to the full 9th Circuit and ultimately to the U.S. Supreme Court. In a statement, Lee-Anne Mulholland, Google's vice president of regulatory affairs, said the appeals court's ruling 'will significantly harm user safety, limit choice, and undermine the innovation that has always been central to the Android ecosystem.' The company said it would continue to focus on 'ensuring a secure platform as we continue our appeal.' Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said in a social media post: 'Thanks to the verdict, the Epic Games Store for Android will be coming to the Google Play Store!' Google told the appeals court that the tech company's Play store competes with Apple's App Store, and that Donato unfairly barred Google from making that point to contest Epic's antitrust claims. The tech company also argued that a jury should never have heard Epic's lawsuit because it sought to enjoin Google's conduct — a request normally decided by a judge — and not collect damages. Epic has defended the verdict and court injunction, telling the 9th Circuit judges that the Android app market has been 'suffering under anti-competitive behavior for the better part of a decade.' In the trial court and in the appeal, Epic disputed arguments by Google that changes to its app business ordered by the court would harm user privacy and security. Microsoft MSFT.O filed a brief backing Epic, as did the U.S. Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission. Epic separately is battling Apple over a U.S. judge's order requiring the iPhone maker to give developers greater freedom to steer consumers to make purchases outside its App Store. Apple has appealed a ruling that said it violated a prior injunction in a lawsuit that Epic filed in 2020. (Reporting by Mike Scarcella; Editing by David Bario, Jan Harvey, Rod Nickel)
