‘Will move SC': IAMC to challenge Telangana HC order quashing 3.7-acre land; ex-CJI Ramana has no role, says trustee; focus on pro bono mediation, training drive

The International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) will challenge the Telangana High Court's decision to quash the land allotment in the Supreme Court. IAMC clarified that former CJI NV Ramana's role was limited to drafting the trust deed.
HYDERABAD: City-based International Arbitration and Mediation Centre (IAMC) life trustee and Supreme Court former judge Justice (Retd) B Sudarshan Reddy on Saturday stated that they will challenge Telangana high court judgment quashing the allotment of 3.70 acres to IAMC in the Supreme Court.
Justice Reddy clarified that former Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana has no association with IAMC beyond drafting the trust deed. He emphasized that an independent trust manages the centre and that Justice Ramana was not involved in its operations in any capacity.
IAMC registrar A J Jawad said that IAMC, founded as a public charitable trust, would work with renewed vigour and rededicate itself to administering arbitration, mediation and other hybrid alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms for resolving disputes efficiently with an aim to reduce the burden on courts while fostering awareness and accessibility of ADR for timely and effective dispute resolution.
"We are laying more stress on dispute resolutions through mediation. As part of this, we are conducting pro bono mediations. To promote ADR in Telangana, IAMC has undertaken several initiatives. Arbitrations at no administrative cost for cases referred by the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC) of Telangans is one among them," he added.

For this they are conducting specialized training programs to create a pool of qualified mediators and arbitrators.
IAMC has signed MoUs with national organisations, including the General Counsels' Association of India, the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, Gujarat National Law University, and Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority. The centre also aims to promote community mediation and was conducting training programmes to facilitate dispute resolution at the grassroots level.

Don't remove Facebook, Instagram, X and other social media information from your US visa application — it could lead to rejection or even future ineligibility

The US Embassy in India has issued a firm warning to visa applicants: omitting social media details from your application can have serious consequences. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the embassy reminded applicants to disclose all social media usernames or handles used in the past five years when filling out the DS-160 visa application form. This includes accounts on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others, even if the accounts are no longer active. 'Visa applicants are required to list all social media usernames or handles of every platform they have used from the last 5 years on the DS-160 visa application form,' the post stated. 'Applicants certify that the information in their visa application is true and correct before they sign and submit.' Failing to do so may lead not only to a visa denial but also ineligibility for future visas under US law. This requirement is part of broader security and vetting protocols implemented by the US State Department in recent years. New US visa rule: Social media must be public for student and exchange visa applicants In addition to disclosing social media information, a new rule now applies to F, M, and J non-immigrant visa applicants, those seeking to study or participate in exchange programs in the United States. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like One of the Most Successful Investors of All Time, Warren Buffett, Recommends: 5 Books for Turning... Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Click Here Undo Effective immediately, applicants in these categories are required to make all of their social media accounts public. 'All individuals applying for an F, M, or J nonimmigrant visa are requested to adjust the privacy settings on all of their social media accounts to public,' the embassy stated, explaining that this change is meant to facilitate identity verification and vetting during the application process. The F visa is generally used by academic students, the M visa by vocational students, and the J visa by exchange visitors, including interns, researchers, and scholars. By requiring public profiles, US authorities aim to ensure greater transparency and consistency in the vetting process. USCIS to change SMS notification number In a separate update, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced a change in its text messaging system. Starting July 1, 2025, USCIS will no longer send SMS notifications from its previous number 468-311 (GOV-311). The new number for official texts will be 872466 (USAIMM). Applicants are advised to update their contact lists and remain alert to this change in order to avoid mistaking USCIS messages for spam or missing important updates about their visa or immigration status. This shift is part of USCIS's ongoing efforts to streamline and secure communication with visa holders and applicants.

Trump says he doesn't expect to extend July 9 tariff deadline

Washington: US President Donald Trump said he is not planning to extend a 90-day pause on tariffs on most nations beyond July 9, when the negotiating period he set would expire, and his administration will notify countries that the trade penalties will take effect unless there are deals with the United States. "I don't think I'll need to," he said in an interview on Fox News's Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo that was taped Friday. He then added, "I could, no big deal." Letters will start going out "pretty soon" before the approaching deadline, he said. "We'll look at how a country treats us - are they good, are they not so good - some countries we don't care, we'll just send a high number out," Trump told Fox News. Those letters, he said, would say, "Congratulations, we're allowing you to shop in the United States of America, you're going to pay a 25% tariff, or a 35% or a 50% or 10%." Trump had played down the deadline at a White House news conference Friday by noting how difficult it would be to work out separate deals with each nation. The administration had set a goal of reaching 90 trade deals in 90 days. Negotiations continue, but "there's 200 countries, you can't talk to all of them," the President said in the interview. France confident of EU deal French finance minister Eric Lombard said the European Union can clinch some form of a trade agreement with the US before a July 9 deadline, when Washington is set to impose a 50% tariff on nearly all EU products. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "From the experience of the last few months, we can clearly see that the US is in on the deal," Lombard said in an interview Sunday with La Tribune Dimanche newspaper. As part of the negotiations between the EU and Washington, "there may be discussions on energy, particularly on liquefied natural gas," he said. "Europe is still buying Russian LNG. Three LNG liquefaction plants are under construction in the Gulf of Mexico. We can therefore increase our imports of American gas, and this could be used to avoid the 10% increase in customs tariffs," Lombard added.

Taurus Daily Horoscope Today, June 30, 2025: Let grateful choices shape the day

The energy today supports slow, thoughtful decisions. There may be many options, but clarity will come when you pause and ask: 'What am I thankful for?' Let gratitude lead instead of fear. Someone may offer you support or encouragement—accept it with grace. This is not a day for rushing. Everything will unfold with more ease when you choose from the heart, not from habit. Taurus Love Horoscope Today Love feels soft and warm today, if you allow your heart to slow down. Sometimes we search so much for what's next that we forget the joy already present. If you're in a relationship, reflect on your partner's small gestures—they carry deep meaning. If single, this is a good time to love yourself out loud. Gratitude in love makes the heart more open, and openness attracts more beauty. Taurus Career Horoscope Today Career moves today are best done slowly and from a place of grounded appreciation. Instead of seeking big changes, look for small wins in your current space. Colleagues may respond positively to your patience and steady presence. If you're feeling unsure, take a quiet moment to count what you've already achieved—it will remind you of your worth. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo You don't need to chase success today. You only need to build on what is already strong. Be proud of your steady journey. Taurus Money Horoscope Today Financial matters benefit today from appreciation, not worry. Focus on how far you've come, even if the numbers aren't perfect yet. Avoid comparing yourself to others—it only causes confusion. A humble gratitude for what you have can help you manage what you spend. You may receive an unexpected discount, deal, or advice—say thank you and use it wisely. This is not a day for greed but for balance. What you appreciate, appreciates. Let that truth guide your financial steps. Taurus Health Horoscope Today Your body responds well today to peace and stillness. A slow morning or a warm meal can work better than any quick remedy. If you've been pushing yourself too hard, your system may now ask for a softer approach. Headaches, tired eyes, or neck stiffness may show up as signs. Listen.
