Yahoo2 days ago
Caitlyn Jenner's longtime friend and manager Sophia Hutchins has died in an ATV accident close to the reality TV star's home. The 29 year old is believed to have collided with a car while riding an all-terrain vehicle on a road close to Caitlyn's property in Malibu, California on Wednesday (02.07.25) and TMZ.com reports the crash sent Sophia's ATV plummeting into a ravine. The website reports emergency services were called, but Sophia was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else is believed to have been injured in the accident. It is not known whether Caitlyn was at home at the time of the accident and she has yet to publicly comment on the tragedy. Sophia took over managing Caitlyn's career in 2017 following the reality star's divorce from Kris Jenner. She appeared in her reality show I am Cait and even lived with the star at her Malibu home. She explained the career move in an interview with the New York Times in 2019, insisting she just wanted to protect her friend at a vulnerable time in her life. Sophia told the publication: "I saw nobody was managing her, and there were all these people taking massive advantage. "And I was saying: 'Caitlyn, if I don't step in here and start managing you, you're going to go broke'." She added of their relationship: "Caitlyn is a parent to me. I have said that a million times. It is a parental, familial relationship." The pair became so close, they were forced to deny rumours they were romantically involved. Sophia previous addressed the speculation in a post on social media, writing: "Love the whole LGBT community but so tired of rumors that I am romantically with Caitlyn. "I am only ever with men and only ever have been. Stop the rumors! It's been years." Sophia is believed to have maintained a good relationship with Caitlyn's ex-wife Kris and daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, while she also appeared in a campaign for SKIMS - the clothing brand run by Caitlyn's stepdaughter Kim Kardashian. Sophia's final public appearance with Caitlyn is believed to have been at the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C. in April 2024.

SPARE only left me with 90 remaining solutions but even with two yellow boxes, I had a bit of trouble with this one. BOINK slashed that number to 8, which wasn't ideal (Wordle Bot says I should have picked CAROL here, and I tend to agree). VICAR left me with two, though I only came up with ATRIA. The other was RADII which is kind of an insanely obscure word. The really curious thing here is that typically Wordle answers aren't plural, but today's was. It just didn't end with an 'S' which I think must be the actual rule (no plurals ending in 'S' so no 'BOOKS' for instance). We tied, so the Wordle Bot and I get no points for that and no points for guessing in four. Our July totals remain: Erik: -2 points Wordle Bot: 4 points The word "atria" is the plural of "atrium," which comes from Latin atrium, meaning "central court" or "hall" of a Roman house. Its origin is uncertain, but it may be related to the Latin ater, meaning "black" or "dark," possibly referring to the sooty appearance of early Roman homes with central hearths. Caitlyn Jenner's Manager Sophia Hutchins Dies at 29 (Reports)

Caitlyn Jenner's manager Sophia Hutchins died in an ATV accident in Malibu on Wednesday, TMZ, People and multiple other outlets have reported. She was 29. Hutchins was pronounced dead at the site of the accident Wednesday morning, law enforcement and family sources told TMZ, which reported that Hutchins was riding the ATV on the road where Jenner lives when she hit the bumper of a moving car, forcing the ATV over the shoulder and 350 feet down into a ravine. More from The Hollywood Reporter Young Noble, Member of Tupac Shakur's Outlawz Rap Group, Dies at 47 Julian McMahon, Australian Actor Known for 'Nip/Tuck' and 'Fantastic Four' Movies, Dies at 56 Mark Snow, 'The X-Files' Theme Song Composer, Dies at 78 The people in the car were not injured. Hutchins and Jenner met around the time the former Olympian came out as a transgender woman and became close friends, so much so that there were rumors the two were romantically involved, which Hutchins strongly denied in a 2019 New York Times profile. 'We were never romantically involved,' she said matter-of-factly, the Times reported, saying tabloid reports of a relationship between her and Jenner continued, 'because we weren't addressing it.' She added, 'I don't feel a need to address my sex life, quite frankly, unless I want to.' Hutchins and Jenner met through the former's makeup artist at a photo shoot, Hutchins told the Times. 'Having a similar sense of humor, we spent the entire time laughing and ended up meeting for brunch, and we've been great friends ever since,' she said, later explaining that she saw an opportunity to guide Jenner's business endeavors. 'I saw nobody was managing her, and there were all these people taking massive advantage,' she told the Times. 'And I was saying, 'Caitlyn, if I don't step in here and start managing you, you're going to go broke.'' During her senior year at Pepperdine, Hutchins beccame Jenner's manager and moved into her Malibu home, the Times reported. In a statement via her publicist shared with the Times in 2019, Jenner called Hutchins her 'best friend, family and confidant.' 'She is one of the top minds in her field,' she added. 'Her value in my life is undeniable. The sky is the limit with her entrepreneurial spirit.' Hutchins, who reportedly served as executive director and CEO of Jenner's eponymous trans activism foundation, like Jenner, was a transgender woman, opening up about taking a semester off to transition when she was a student at Pepperdine. 'I've always had the question of 'Do I want to transition from male to female?'' Hutchins was quoted in the interview with Pepperdine student newspaper Graphic. 'I never thought a lot about doing it until I got into college because I was able to break away from my family and started to establish my own identity.' Though she told the Times in 2019 that she regrets that interview. 'Had I not done that interview, I never would have come out,' she said. 'I would just live my life. Now people can't really see past the trans thing.' Originally from the Seattle area, Hutchins founded the sunscreen company Lumasol and served as a surrogate for President Trump's 2024 campaign. She made a number of television appearances on his behalf and posed with him in photos posted to her Instagram account, including one from February 2024. 'The energy, passion and commitment for our movement to Save America has never been greater! We will never give up!' Hutchins captioned the image. She and Jenner also attended the Starlight Ball as part of the festivities tied to Trump's second inauguration. The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to reps for Hutchins and Jenner.
