Tyson Fury insider drops boxing return hint as Gyspy King told how long he'll need to prepare for Anthony Joshua
Joseph Parker believes Tyson Fury would only need 'six to eight weeks' to get himself back into the fighting shape required for a long-awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua.
The two-time heavyweight world champion seemingly hung up his boxing gloves for good back in January following two consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk but earlier his week teased fans that a return to the ring is imminent.
Joshua is searching for an opponent later this year as he looks to bounce back from his devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois last September.
His promoter Eddie Hearn insists that they are more than willing to come to the table for the highly-anticipated heavyweight dust-up but has also stated that the onus is on Fury to make it happen.
And according to the Gypsy King's close pal and training partner Parker - a former WBO world champion himself - the 36-year-old would be back and ready to rock with Joshua in no time.
Speaking to Metro via CasinoHawks - who offer the latest UK casino sites, he said: "Tyson Fury has had the more recent fight over Anthony Joshua, therefore Joshua has been out longer.
"In my opinion, if they keep themselves fit – it shouldn't take that long to get you ready to fight.
"You have sparring, work with your coach, your road runs, pad work and that should take you between six to eight weeks.
"Tyson Fury has done everything there is to do in the sport. He has made a lot of money and is now spending a lot of quality time with his family.
'If he does want to return, he can. A lot of people would still like to see him fight.
"He is an entertainer and says a lot of things to get people's attention.
"If it's a fight with Joshua or Usyk, I'm sure a lot of people will be dying to see these fights.
Parker himself is hoping to land another crack at the world title and is desperate to fight the winner of the undisputed showdown between Usyk and Dubois at Wembley in July.
He added: "It's great to have these reports that tell you you're going to be the mandatory challenger.
"However, if we can expand on it and get something solid and locked in where I will be able to fight the winner it will be fantastic and a dream come true. I hope it can happen and come through.
"I would like to fight sometime soon and keep busy. I know every fight is a risk where you may win and may lose. I want to keep fighting, progressing and keep busy.
"Hopefully we can get a fight very soon so I can get into camp, keep progressing and keep the good flow going."
