Kelly Stafford's Mom Used to Tell Her Sex Ed Students About Her Daughter's Period

Yahoo7 days ago
Kelly Stafford's menstrual cycle was a hot topic for middle schoolers in Georgia, all thanks to Kelly's own mother.
Leslie Hall, Stafford's mom, was a physical education teacher whose duties included guiding her students through sex ed curriculum.
'She would talk to her middle schoolers about [her] daughters, Jenny and I, about our periods,' Stafford, 36, said on the Thursday, July 24, episode of her 'The Morning After' podcast. 'Guys, I was in middle school. On days that we had off — because I was a going to private school and she taught at public school — I would come to her school and people would be like, 'We heard about you in our sex ed class, how's your period?''
Stafford, who is the wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, said her mom would tell her students, 'Kelly just developed way earlier than [her sister] Jenny.'
Kelly Stafford Breaks Silence Over Sexual Misconduct Allegations Against Podcast Cohost
'I've never f***ing developed, mom!' Kelly recalled saying. 'What are you talking about?'
Even now, Kelly said stories from those middle school days still come back to haunt her.
'There's still people that come up to me to this day and are like, 'Your mom was my sex ed teacher,'' she explained. 'I'm like, 'Did you hear about my period?' They're like, 'Sure did.''
Kelly added, 'You gotta love her, though. You gotta love her.'
Despite that, Kelly insisted she won't be following her mother's blueprint when it comes to her own parenting style.
'When my kids actually start their periods, we will not be talking about it,' Kelly said. 'But you will probably know … I'll probably have bags [under my eyes], I'll probably be a disaster. I don't know how I'm going to do it. I'm already struggling now and they haven't even started.'
Kelly and Matthew share four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 8, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 5.
The podcast host candidly admitted that she hasn't been feeling like the best mom lately because her daughters 'have no f***ing idea how to use money.'

'Listen, not good. Not good parenting,' Kelly said. 'S***ty parenting job by me. That's on me.'
Kelly also said her daughters' inability to tie their soccer cleats recently left her perplexed.
'We have come to the realization, and I'm sure there's parents like this, that when you have so many [kids] close together or you have so many kids, you don't have time for them to figure s*** out,' she said. 'You're trying to get out the door. We were like, 'Hey girls, get your cleats on for soccer.' This is soccer camp two weeks ago. They put them on and looked at us with untied shoes.'
Kelly continued, 'I'm like, 'What are you doing?' They're like, 'Will you tie them?' I'm like, 'You're eight years old, why can't you tie them?' They're like, 'We don't really know how to tie cleats.' I said, 'It's the same f***ing thing as tennis shoes, what are you talking about?''

Cubs Blockbuster? Merrill Kelly Rumors Heating Up As Deadline Nears

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. The Chicago Cubs need to add a starting pitcher to their roster before Thursday's trade deadline. Justin Steele is out for the season with an elbow injury, and Jameson Taillon has battled injuries, too. Chicago has been connected to a lot of different starting pitchers, but it's only landed Michael Soroka so far. Soroka isn't going to be enough for the Cubs to feel secure pushing for a World Series. They need to add more. ESPN's David Schoenfield recently suggested the Cubs could be a potential landing spot in a deal for Arizona Diamondbacks star pitcher Merrill Kelly. ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA - JULY 13: Merrill Kelly #29 of the Arizona Diamondbacks delivers to the plate during the first inning against the against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on July 13,... ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA - JULY 13: Merrill Kelly #29 of the Arizona Diamondbacks delivers to the plate during the first inning against the against the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on July 13, 2025 in Anaheim, California. More Jayne Kamin-Oncea/Getty Images "Kelly might be viewed as more of a grind-it-out innings eater, but that feels like a bit of a disservice to his ability, especially since he's pitching well with a 2.56 ERA over his past 10 starts, lowering his season ERA to 3.22," Schoenfield wrote. "After getting knocked out early in his second start of the season, he has gone at least five innings in every start since then, usually going six or seven. His superlative work in the 2023 postseason (2.25 ERA across four starts) is another reason he's a fit with any contender." Kelly is the perfect combination of talent and affordability on the trade market that a deal could be realistic. While a trade for Sandy Alcántara or MacKenzie Gore would be fun, they'd be very expensive. Kelly has consistently been one of the more competitive pitchers in baseball each time out. He would provide the Cubs with a stabilizing option in the middle of their rotation for the rest of the season without breaking the farm system down. The deal makes perfect sense. 7 current and former Vols inducted into Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday

It was a red-letter day for a number of Tennessee Vols, both current and former, on Saturday. Seven VFLs were inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame as part of their 2025 class: Deon Grant, Andy Kelly, Doug Mathews, Chamique Holdsclaw, Tamika Catchings, Ron Slay, and Chris Woodruff. Additionally, Rick Barnes received the Pat Summitt Lifetime Achievement Award from the Hall. Kelly and Grant were among the most memorable players on both ends of the 1990s, with Kelly leading Tennessee to a 1990 SEC title and Sugar Bowl win over Virginia. Grant earned First Team All-American honors in 1998 while anchoring the back end of Tennessee's national championship defense before finishing a 12-year NFL career with a Super Bowl victory with the Giants in 2012. Mathews coached a number of tremendous running backs at Tennessee, including Reggie Cobb and Johnnie Jones. Holdsclaw and Catchings were both national champions with a laundry list of personal awards and accomplishments. Tennessee won the national championship three straight years (1996-98) with Holdsclaw leading the way. Slay won SEC Player of the Year in 2003, the first UT player since 1987 to claim the honor. Woodruff has helped turn the Tennessee tennis program into a steady force in the SEC, winning the conference in 2021 and making the national semifinals in 2021 and 2022. He just received a contract extension this week through the 2030 season. Congrats to all on this massive accomplishment. Davante Adams is a top-10 WR in Madden 26, but Puka Nacua is not

Does Nacua deserve to be one of the 10 best WRs in Madden this year? On paper, the Los Angeles Rams appear to have one of the best wide receiver tandems in the NFL. Davante Adams joins Puka Nacua in Los Angeles as a top weapon for Matthew Stafford, looking to continue his reign as a premier wideout in football. The ratings gurus at EA Sports still view Adams as a star receiver because he has one of the highest overall ratings for a wideout in the game. Adams is a 90 overall in 'Madden NFL 26', which is the 10th-highest at his position, just behind Drake London (91). EA only revealed the top 10 players at each position on Thursday and Puka Nacua's name was noticeably absent from the list of receivers. While we don't yet know his initial rating, he isn't one of the 10 best wideouts. ESPN polled NFL executives, coaches and scouts from around the league this offseason and asked them to rank the top receivers for 2025. Nacua and Adams both fell outside the top 10, only earning recognition as honorable mentions. It seems both players are on the fringe of being top-10 receivers in the eyes of personnel evaluators around the NFL, as well as EA Sports' ratings experts. Nacua probably doesn't get as much praise as he deserves because he was injured last season, but he was third in the NFL in receiving yards per game (90.0) and nearly eclipsed 1,000 yards despite only playing 11 games. Adams is an established star at wide receiver but you could make the case that Nacua is in for a better season in 2025 if healthy. Whatever his initial Madden rating is, it should be on the rise throughout the year.
