Happy Mondays star Bez 'rinsing' the Oasis reunion tour with official after party DJ sets
Happy Mondays star Bez is the official DJ for the Manchester Oasis Live '25 Tour after parties.
The king of the maracas will be entertaining fans of the legendary Britpop band following their gigs at Heaton Park this summer, at New Century, and he's admitted it's a nice "little earner".
The Madchester legend told the Daily Star: 'I've got a little earner out of Oasis going on tour. I'm rinsing it it's true. I'm DJ-ing at the after shows in Manchester if anybody wants to go, Nobody's asked me to do the other ones yet but I can do.'
Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder recalled a gross prank the post-punk dance group and Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher carried out back in the day when Noel worked as a roadie for iconic Madchester group Inspiral Carpets - a role he took on in 1990 after a failed audition to be their lead singer.
Shaun recounted: "When Noel was working for Inspiral Carpets we used to send stuff, it wasn't emails it was either telexes or letters, and we used to send s*** to Inspirals. They would send s*** back to us. But that was Noel who was sending it all cos he worked for them.'
Bez remembers attending Oasis' first ever show at a "scabby little club" in Manchester.
He shared: 'I was at their very first gig they played with Noel at Middleton. Every gig were scabby little clubs. (Label boss) Alan McGee came up with Jeff Barrett (colleague) to Manchester and were looking for Manchester bands to sign.'
Bez says a lot of Mancunians owe Oasis for bagging record deals.
The potty-mouth star said: 'Every **** we knew was signed at one point. Even me next door neighbour f***** got a record deal cos of them!'
The Oasis Live '25 Tour - Oasis' first tour in 16 years - kicks off on July 4 in Cardiff.
The Supersonic group will play five shows at Heaton Park between July 11 and 20.

Zak Starkey's warning for new Oasis drummer: 'Don't f*** it up'
Former Oasis drummer Zak Starkey has warned new sticksman Joey Waronker, "Don't f*** it up" The Mantra Of The Cosmos star - who is the son of Beatles legend Sir Ringo Starr - had some stern advice for his replacement on the upcoming Oasis Live '25 Tour, noting that the Britpop band are "smart" and know when something is off. Asked for his advice for the newcomer ahead of the biggest reunion tour of all time, which kicks off on July 4 in Cardiff, he told NME: 'He's not a mod is he? Don't f*** it up. Make sure you get your tempos right, them boys know. They're smart. They're some of the smartest musicians I've ever met. Whether it's fast, it's slow, they're bang on it.' Zak also spilled that The Cosmos' recent track, Domino Bones, was originally intended to be a Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds song. The recently ousted Who drummer - who is joined by Happy Mondays' Shaun Ryder and Bez and Oasis bassist Andy Bell in the supergroup - said: 'Noel sent me it about a year ago and said, 'This might be better for your band than mine [High Flying Birds]'. It didn't work for his band because of the hip-hop element because of Shaun. 'I took the music off and started from the ground up. At first, my version was hip-hop. We were gonna do Later… With Jools Holland and Noel went, 'There's only drums on this, what the f*** am I supposed to play?' I wrote the music and it worked. It's heavy, it's mad, it's crazy. Noel's part is beautiful when it drops.' Zak is still reeling that he isn't going to be behind the kit for Oasis' first tour in 16 years. He said: 'We had this tune before that. Noel called me on my birthday to tell me I wasn't in [Oasis]. He didn't know it was my birthday though! I would like to be in it, because they're my favourite group of my generation. The thing about groups that you love – like The Who or Oasis – is that it's not a job. It's about protecting music so that no **** does it wrong, because for so many people it's a job and they don't really care. 'When it's your favourite band, you pick up the phone and you're like, 'F****** hell!' It's completely different to everything else. I f****** love Oasis. I always did. I always had this thing with Liam [Gallagher] for years from the mid-90s where I'd go, 'Alright Daffers? Still the greatest rock'n'roll singer in the world?' and he'd go, 'Alright Zakky Wakky, still the greatest rock'n'roll drummer in the world?' This went on for years until I was in [the band]. I couldn't believe it.'

PinkPantheress pulls plug on Thursday Glasto set
PinkPantheress has cancelled one of her two sets at Glastonbury. The Princess Diana hitmaker was due to play the Levels stage in Silver Hayes at Worthy Farm at 11pm on Thursday (26.06.25) - but the 30-minute set has been axed at the last minute. A Glasto spokesperson confirmed to The Sun that fears of "overcrowding" had nothing to do with the decision to abort the set. They said: 'This change was absolutely not as a result of overcrowding fears; the artist was simply no longer able to make this performance. " Fans will still get to see PinkPantheress play Woodsies from 7.30pm on Friday (27.06.25). The spokesperson added: 'She is still playing her Woodsies set.' Australian DJ Roza Terenzi will now perform on Levels at 10.30pm and midnight. Meanwhile, Chappell Roan is rumoured to be the mystery artist, Patchwork, who is scheduled to perform at Glastonbury. The Pink Pony Club hitmaker has made no secret of the fact she loves patchwork, having worn a pink patchwork ensemble to the 2025 Met Gala, and just before the world-famous festival opened its doors on Wednesday morning (25.06.25) , the pop star posted a picture of her holding a colourful patchwork throw when she was little. She simply captioned the carousel that included the throwback picture: "Insane vibe." Whoever Patchwork is, they are due to play the Pyramid Stage on Saturday (28.06.25) at 6.15pm. Pulp had their name attached to the slot too, but the group's keyboardist Candida Doyle has claimed Glastonbury "weren't interested" in Pulp this year. The Britpop legends achieved widespread acclaim after their defining headline Glastonbury Festival performance in 1995, which saw them step in for The Stone Roses. Jarvis Cocker and co returned to top the bill on the Pyramid Stage in 1998, before a surprise appearance on The Park Stage in 2011. However, Candida claimed Michael and Emily Eavis didn't want the Common People hitmakers playing a set to mark their 30th anniversary. She told BBC Radio 6 Music: 'We wanted to [play Glastonbury], just because it's the 30th anniversary and that kind of thing, and they weren't interested. 'And then we were thinking maybe next year, and then they're not doing it next year.'

Chappell Roan rumoured for surprise set at Glastonbury

'And then we were thinking maybe next year, and then they're not doing it next year.' Frontman Jarvis also previously ruled out a Glastonbury return for Pulp - who released their first album in 24 years, More, earlier this month - but suggested he could do an impromptu DJ set. He told Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2: 'I will be going to Glastonbury, and I might DJ. 'Well, you know, I do occasionally DJ at Glastonbury in a place called Stone Bridge near The Park Stage. I will be happy to see what is going on there." Asked if a Pulp set was on the cards, he replied: 'I don't think that's going to happen. If it was a life-or-death situation, but I really don't think it's going to happen.' Neil Young, The 1975, and Olivia Rodrigo are the 2025 Glastonbury headliners. Sir Rod Stewart will play the Sunday afternoon legends slot. Charli XCX, Loyle Carner, The Prodigy, Raye, The Maccabees, Wet Leg, Doechii and many more will perform at Worthy Farm this weekend.
