Calls Mount for Chicago Sky to Sign WNBA Player Released by Aces
The Chicago Sky lost to the Indiana Fever on Saturday by a score of 79 to 52, dropping them to a 2-5 record during the 2025 WNBA season.

While 79 points were the fewest that the team had given up all season, their 52 points were the lowest in a single game for the franchise since 2011 (via CHGO Sky).
No player on the Sky scored in double figures, with both Kamilla Cardoso and Rebecca Allen chipping in eight points to lead the team.
Chicago also saw Courtney Vandersloot go down with an injury on Saturday just under five minutes into the contest. On Sunday, the team confirmed that the 15-year veteran had torn her ACL and would miss the remainder of the 2025 season.
During the preseason, undrafted guard Deja Kelly averaged 12.0 points per game during her two contests with the Las Vegas Aces. She even hit a game-winning shot in the final seconds of their exhibition against the Phoenix Mercury.

After the news broke about Vandersloot's season-ending injury, Sky fans began to flood the comments and tell the team that they should sign Kelly.

Perkins delivers winning hit as Brewers rally to beat Marlins 3-2 and avoid sweep
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Blake Perkins singled home the winning run in the ninth inning as the Milwaukee Brewers rallied to beat the Miami Marlins 3-2 on Sunday. The Brewers erased a 2-1 deficit by scoring in each of the final two innings to avoid the sweep. The Brewers have been swept just once, in their opening series of the season at Yankee Stadium. Eric Haase hit a one-out bloop single to center off Cade Gibson (2-5) in the ninth and advanced to third on Brice Turang's broken-bat double down the left-field line. Gibson intentionally walked Jackson Chourio to load the bases. Perkins then lofted a 3-2 pitch well over the head of center fielder Dane Myers. Alex Bregman hits 2-run HR, Red Sox take series vs. Dodgers with 4-3 win
BOSTON (AP) — Alex Bregman hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the fifth inning and the Boston Red Sox hung on to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 Sunday for a series win. Rookie Roman Anthony added an RBI triple for the Red Sox, who captured their first series since the All-Star break. Boston had a 10-game winning streak entering the break. Boston closer Aroldis Chapman walked off the mound with an apparent injury in the eighth inning. In to face the top of the Dodgers' order, his velocity was noticeably down to the mid-90 mph on his fastball instead of the high 90s to low 100s.
