Sydney Sweeney Wears a Canadian Tuxedo—and Nothing Else—for New Campaign
Sydney Sweeney's latest brand campaign sees her wearing denim—and nothing but denim.
The actress is the star of the new fall 2025 campaign for American Eagle Outfitters, a partnership officially announced on July 23. The campaign, 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,' with Sweeney chosen because 'she brings the allure,' the company said in a release Wednesday.
'There is something so effortless about American Eagle—it's the perfect balance of being put-together but still feeling like yourself,' Sweeney said in the same release. 'Their commitment to creating pieces that make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin is something that resonates with me.'
'It's rare to find a brand that grows with you, the way American Eagle has for generations,' she continued. 'They have literally been there with me through every version of myself.'
Collection highlights include a limited-edition denim jacket that was reimagined from a 'real-time tailoring moment' with Molly Dickson, Sweeney's stylist. The campaign will also feature 'The Sydney Jean,' a limited-run offering produced in collaboration with Sweeney—and featuring a butterfly motif on the back pocket of the jean representing domestic violence awareness, 'which Sydney is passionate about,' the company said.
The late 1990s and early 2000s favorite brand is attempting to become the favorite of Gen Z, too—and cool girl Sweeney is an obvious choice to partner with. When it comes to 'The Sydney Jean,' Sweeney told InStyle, 'I definitely wanted a jean that felt comfortable, loose, and free—something that you can kind of do anything in and dress up or down.'
Of supporting domestic violence awareness, Sweeney—who plays boxer domestic violence survivor Christy Martin in the forthcoming film Christy, due out in September—told InStyle, 'I wanted to do something in support of a cause that was really important to me by bringing awareness to domestic violence.' In honor of Martin, 100 percent of the proceeds from 'The Sydney Jean' will be donated to Crisis Text Line, a nonprofit that provides mental health support.
Of her partnership with American Eagle, 'I've been a huge fan of [American Eagle] jeans, and so when they came to me, I was like, 'This is so me,'' Sweeney told InStyle, adding that 'I am definitely a jeans and T-shirt girlie. Everyone knows that about me, all of my friends, and it's when I feel the most confident and myself.'
'They're the comfiest jeans I've ever worn,' Sweeney told People. 'I don't know why anyone wears anything else.'
The Euphoria star remains in-demand as a brand ambassador—in addition to her acting career, Sweeney has also collaborated with Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo, Armani Beauty, Leneige, and more over the past year (and that's just fashion and beauty brands). When it comes to American Eagle's fall campaign, it is reportedly their 'largest fall campaign to date' and 'marks the first time AE has partnered with an A-list celebrity at this scale,' according to Glossy.

Sydney Sweeney's Address Just Got Leaked Amid American Eagle Jeans Ad Controversy
Sydney Sweeney has gone viral for allegedly having an affair with Glen Powell (she set the record straight on that, by the way), her amazing response to bikini body haters, and for collabing with Dr. Squatch on soap featuring her own bath water. The internet has a lot of opinions on all of these topics, but nothing has gotten the response that her recent American Eagle ad has. The ad, in which Sydney talks about genetics before saying her "great jeans" are blue, has gotten all kinds of feedback — including someone going so far as to leak Sydney Sweeney's address. Here's everything we know about that American Eagle Sydney Sweeney jeans ad — and its response. What's the deal with Sydney Sweeney ad? American Eagle's new campaign with Sydney Sweeney features the actress hyping up the brand's denim — before a voice over tells us the actress "has great jeans." The word play has sparked all kinds of debate, including being called literal Nazi propaganda. Some social media users are also linking the ad back to Brooke Shields' infamous (and hyper sexualized) Calvin Klein commercial from 1980. While I'm all in favor of a healthy political critique, things went a step too far when it appears that Sydney's voter registration from 2024 was leaked — including her address. People have been so consumed with the supposed confirmation Sydney Sweeney is actually a Republican (which was rumored after her mom's viral birthday party, complete with "parodied" MAGA hats) that no one seems to care how dangerous it is for Sydney's address to float around the internet (because let's be real, it's leaking the address of a world famous female celebrity is never a good idea). It feels like everyone in the country has commented on the American Eagle jeans President Donald Trump. "She's a registered Republican?" . "Oh. Now I love her ad! Is that right? Sydney Sweeney … You'd be surprised at how many people are Republicans. If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.' "Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the 'HOTTEST' ad out there," he later . "It's for American Eagle, and the jeans are 'flying off the shelves.' Go get 'em Sydney!" American Eagle responded to the backlash over the ad (and supposedly removed it from their social media). ''Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' is and always was about the jeans,' says an official statement . 'Her jeans. Her story. We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.' But some Instagram users didn't feel like they truly addressed the issue. "So what is the correlation between Jeans and eye color again?" one comment reads, while another says, "Is 'her story' in the room with us? That's all you could come up with." However, other users felt like AE didn't owe anyone an explanation at all. "This is so good 👏 no apologies needed," a third comment reads. And Sydney Sweeney isn't the first celeb who's had her address leaked (and, unfortunately, I'm sure she won't be the last). Taylor Swift filed a restraining order against a stalker in June 2025. A man figuring out where she lived, "refusing to leave and claiming to need access, makes me fear for my safety and the safety of my family," Taylor said in a declaration. "The fact that both of these recent visits and Mr. Wagner's inappropriate and threatening communications to my staff about me have escalated in recent weeks creates a fear of imminent harm." A 1 in 3 women experience stalking (compared to 1 in 6 men) — and more than 2 times as many victims are stalked with technology. Domestic Violence Services also that 46 percent of stalking victims experience at least one violent incidents from their stalker. All in all, no matter how you feel about someone, leaking their address to the public is not acceptable. Especially when that opens the door (both physically and metaphorically) to potential harm. 27 Fictional Couples Who Had As Much Chemistry As Two Pieces Of Wet Cardboard
We asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to tell us about onscreen couples they think really lacked chemistry. We also perused this Reddit thread started by Timely_Software4158, where people shared their opinions on the same topic. Here are the couples that folks simply weren't buying: 1."Honestly? Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney in Anyone But You. I watched it, expecting to see this crackling spark, the modern rom-com being saved, and all the other things people claimed about this film, and I just got nothing. I don't get it." —garebehr 2."I recently went on a date with my fiancé to see The Materialists. Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans had more chemistry with each other than Dakota Johnson had with either of them. To be fair, she doesn't have any chemistry with anyone in any movie she is in." —FVCEGANG "The people in The Materialists. Like all of them." —narrator16 3."Carrie and Aidan." —slambre "Carrie and Aidan in the new Sex and the City series, And Just Like That. She never had the chemistry with Aidan that she did with Big, but in this series, it looks like he literally gives her the ick." —littleb3anpole 4."I love this show, but Jake and Amy in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The writing was sweet, and they were always warm and comfortable with each other, but there didn't seem to be a single ounce of passion between them shown in the entire time that show ran." —WeePedrovski 5."Leonard and Penny in The Big Bang Theory. It was honestly painful to watch them." —No_Natural6009 "Penny and Leonard from The Big Bang Theory. They had no interests in common. A common trope on the show was to have the women make fun of the men for enjoying 'nerd' things, and they almost never even tried to take part in those nerd things to see why they might be enjoyable. Plus, Leonard was a very well-educated scientist, while Penny seemed to have barely graduated from high school. Leonard apparently pursued Penny because she was hot, and Penny got worn down and settled for him. It was a bad relationship." —UltraRunner42 6."Chandler and Monica. While I think their coupledom made sense for the plot of the show, they had absolutely none of the tension or passion that makes for good onscreen chemistry. Chandler and Kathy had chemistry. Monica and Richard had chemistry. Monica and Chandler might as well have been siblings for how little spark they had." —TieSpirited6426 7."Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley in the films. Those two had all the fire and passion of a tax audit." —Anonymous "Not only Ginny and Harry, but Ron and Hermione. It felt rushed and forced, and I think that J.K. Rowling could have done better." —cornytable97 "Harry and Ginny. He has more chemistry with Hermione and Luna." —Background_Cup7540 8."Amber Heard and Jason Momoa in Aquaman. The movie came out before the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial, so it had nothing to do with any opinions on her as a person or actress, but she and Jason Momoa just had zero chemistry. I think they both looked great for their parts, but their screen time together felt reallllly forced." —Anonymous 9."Julia Roberts and Richard Gere have NO chemistry in Pretty Woman. I feel like this is probably a controversial take, but whatever." —Anonymous 10."Christian Bale and Katie Holmes in Batman Begins. If you could somehow excise the entire sub-plot of Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne being in love with Katie Holmes' character, Batman Begins is a damned near perfect movie. Even with their wooden romance, it's still my favourite Batman film of all time. Sadly, the two leads have about as much chemistry as two dry bricks in a sandstorm. If these two had any less feeling for each other, they'd never have met." —Anonymous 11."I know this will be unpopular, but Jim and Pam from The Office. Not only no chemistry, but toxic all over." —trellia79 12."Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson in Babygirl. It was just so not sexy. The scenes where they were kissing looked so unnatural, it made me cringe." —DeadSharkEyes Watson and Dan Stevens in the live-action Beauty and the Beast. I don't really like the live-action remakes, and this one had bad acting and no chemistry whatsoever." —Anonymous 14."Renée Zellweger and Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. Of course, in my Cruise with anyone (poor women)." —Anonymous 15."This is my view and not a statement of objectivity. Still, this is going to upset a lot of people. Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard. It just didn't click with me. My girlfriend at the time was crying, and I was a little shocked at how much I didn't buy it." —ATerriblePurpose 16."Daenerys and Jon. They lacked warmth. They were like awkward old classmates running into each other at the mall and then going on dates with each other just because they were both single at that time. And then they found they had nothing in common and didn't like each other, and both were waiting until they found someone better." —YasminEatsApples 17."Fifty Shades of Grey, Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. Not only was the movie adaptation horrible, but they also lacked serious chemistry, which made it all worse. We were so excited, and it was blah." —Anonymous 18."Britta and Troy in Community." —JohnDragonborn 19."Rachel and Joey. Why you gotta do that to my man!?" —kruznkiwi 20."Going back a ways, Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange in the 1981 version of The Postman Always Rings Twice. Nobody remembers it much today; they never worked together again, and if you take the time to see it, you'll understand why." —Anonymous 21."Red, White & Royal Blue. Was it bad acting or bad chemistry? Not sure. Either way, I didn't buy it. I didn't even finish the movie; it was so unconvincing." —Anonymous 22."Nina Dobrev and Jimmy O. Yang in Love Hard. Boy, what a miscast couple. The entire movie bombs because of this." —ruandano 23."The Ugly Truth starring Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. Ugh! First of all, Gerry has no business doing rom-coms, and second, Heigl had more chemistry with the sex toy than either man! Bonus, when I got dragged to this garbage movie, there was a lady at the theater doused in perfume that triggered a migraine and ruined the rest of my day." —crafty_gm 24."I'll add Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston from Along Came Polly to the list. As much as I like the actors, they have no romantic chemistry at all. At best, they seem like friends. I think Ben had more chemistry with the ex-wife character in the one minute they were on screen together than the whole movie with Jennifer." —Showdown5618 25."Ben Affleck and Sandra Bullock in Forces of Nature! Love them individually. Together, they were like nails on a chalkboard!" 26."Kathleen Turner and Nicolas Cage in Peggy Sue Got Married." —Anonymous "Hands down, it's Jodie Foster and Richard Gere in the anemic Sommersby. They never make you believe for a second that they really care about each other." —Anonymous Oof, some of these were hard for me to read. What onscreen couple do you think had a disappointing lack of chemistry? How come? Tell us in the comments or share anonymously using this form. Solve the daily Crossword

Megyn Kelly rips Beyoncé's new Levi's ad: ‘Opposite' of Sydney Sweeney
Conservative pundit Megyn Kelly knocked singer-songwriter Beyoncé over a new ad campaign promoting Levi jeans. 'This is the opposite of the Sydney Sweeney ad. Quite clearly there is nothing natural about Beyonce,' Kelly wrote in a post on the social platform X. 'Everything — from her image to her fame to her success to her look below — is bought and paid for,' she added. 'Screams artificial, fake, enhanced, trying too hard.' Beyoncé's company this week posted a video teasing an ad campaign for Levi jeans featuring the pop icon, whose recent album features a song titled 'LEVII'S JEANS.' The Levi campaign comes in the midst of an ongoing cultural debate about a campaign American Eagle rolled out last month promoting its jeans featuring actor Sydney Sweeny. Critics have slammed the American Eagle campaign, arguing it has racist undertones. President Trump defended Sweeney over her participation in the campaign, arguing its success shows being 'WOKE is for losers.' Kelly, a former cable news host and political analyst, is a staunch supporter of Trump and often uses her popular podcast to weigh in on pop culture, entertainment and other issues outside the political realm.
