MILWAUKEE (AP) — Nick Gonzales went 5 for 5 with two RBIs, Isiah Kiner-Falefa tripled home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and the Pittsburgh Pirates beat Milwaukee 5-4 on Monday night to snap the Brewers' four-game winning streak.
Tommy Pham hit a one-out single off Nick Mears (1-1) and scored when Kiner-Falefa sent a line drive into the right-field corner. Pham also hit his first homer of the season, a two-run shot off Chad Patrick in the fourth.

Kiner-Falefa's big hit came after Milwaukee slugger Christian Yelich tied the game in the fifth by connecting on a 3-0 pitch from Chase Shugart (4-3) for a two-run homer that stayed just inside the right-field foul pole.
Yelich has batted .402 (41 for 102) with eight homers and 30 RBIs over his last 26 games. He is 16 for 30 with 14 RBIs in his past seven games.
David Bednar worked around a hit and a walk in the ninth to earn his 11th save in as many opportunities. Bednar hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 13 appearances.
Pittsburgh's Braxton Ashcraft made his first career start and allowed one hit and no walks over three innings, lowering his ERA to 1.23. Ashcraft primarily has been a starter in the minors, but all seven of his previous major league appearances came in relief.

Key moment
Milwaukee had a runner at first with nobody out in the ninth when Jake Bauers hit a long drive to right that looked like a potential walk-off homer before it went just foul. Two pitches later, Caleb Durbin attempted to steal second but overslid the bag and was tagged out. Bauers eventually walked, but Bednar struck out Joey Ortiz and retired Sal Frelick on a shallow fly to right.
Key stat
Gonzales is 12 for 22 over his last five games, raising his batting average from .226 to .320.
Up next
Left-hander Andrew Heaney (3-6, 3.94 ERA) starts for Pittsburgh and right-hander Freddy Peralta (7-4, 2.76) pitches for Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

Cowboys' Dak Prescott Earns Shocking 'Steal' Ranking in Fantasy Football Projections

Cowboys' Dak Prescott Earns Shocking 'Steal' Ranking in Fantasy Football Projections originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It is mock draft season. That means it's time for NFL fans to put on their ownership hats and construct their fantasy football teams ahead of the 2025 season. Advertisement The quarterback is always the highest-scoring position on average, but it usually takes a back seat to less deep positions like running back and wide receiver at the top of drafts. Nonetheless, the most elite QBs like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson get taken off the board fairly quickly. For Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, there is a lot working against him in these fantasy projections compared to his peers. Where he fits in quarterback rankings is always up for debate and his concerning injury history makes him an understandable commitment to avoid. Not to mention how facing the spotlight of leading "America's Team" often puts Dak at the center of scrutiny, warranted or not. That sometimes makes for a low bar in Dak's fantasy football value, which could work in favor of the bold individuals who decide to draft him. Advertisement Prescott was named the "best value pick" at quarterback by Bleacher Report this fantasy season. He has an average draft pick of No. 111 in fantasy leagues right now, ranking 14th among quarterbacks. By our estimations, that is a steal. "With the Dallas running game a major question mark, the Cowboys could be among the NFL's most pass-heavy teams in 2025," writes Gavin Davenport. "As recently as two years ago, Prescott surpassed 4,500 passing yards, led the league in passing scores with 36 and finished third in fantasy points among quarterbacks." Prescott's 2023 season was the best of his career and his most recent fully-healthy season, which puts an asterisk on his and the Cowboys' showing last season after his torn-off-the-bone hamstring injury put him out for the second half of the year. Advertisement Prescott is expected to be ready to go for Week 1 in 2025, and with a stronger receiving corps after the addition of George Pickens, Prescott is poised to put up big numbers once again. That would bring major value to fantasy owners who get him in late rounds ... of course, as long as Year 10 Dak can stay healthy. Most importantly, his production will prove instrumental to the success of a Cowboys franchise anxious to return to competitive football under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer this season. Cowboys Fans Marvel At Joe Milton 'Dime' Video While Questioning Dak Prescott

Cowboys Fans Marvel At Joe Milton 'Dime' Video While Questioning Dak Prescott originally appeared on Athlon Sports. FRISCO - In football, the most popular guy in town is always the backup quarterback. As Dallas Cowboys training camp approaches, Joe Milton is feeling that love now. Advertisement But how long will the feeling last? And what does being the new No. 2 QB, Joe Milton, have to do with posing a threat to the starting job of Dak Prescott? Fans who know how good Cooper Rush was filling in for Prescott are now giddy about the prospects of Milton. Some fans and analysts even predicted that the Cowboys would have a new starter this season. However, regarding Dallas' plan ... those fans and analysts are wrong. Much of the wild speculation is based on Prescott's nine seasons – good ones when healthy – vs. one single game by Milton. He starred in a meaningless regular-season finale for the New England Patriots in 2024, throwing and running for touchdowns. Advertisement At 25 and with dual-threat athleticism, Cowboys fans – and some media – immediately began singing Milton's praises this offseason. Some of the wildest rumors even predicted the Cowboys would trade Prescott to the Cleveland Browns and give the starting job to Milton before a single training-camp snap. Prescott is in the prime of his career. As the highest-paid player in NFL history, smart critics can agree it's time for him to deliver at the very least a winning playoff run. But is Milton threatening to take his job? Nope. But what about the marvel of these videos showing him running, spinning, backflipping and throwing a "dime"? Advertisement Politely ... Nope. The Cowboys signed Prescott to an extension through 2028 in September, making him the highest-paid quarterback in the game. There is an "escape hatch" after the 2027 season. Want a major change? You'll have to wait until then. Prescott is under immense pressure to stay healthy, perform as a top-10 quarterback and lead the Cowboys to multiple playoff wins this season. Highlights aside, "Bazooka" Milton is projected to have very little to do with that. Former NBA All-Star headlines Bachelor-like dating show

If you ever wanted to see an NBA star hand out roses on "The Bachelor," today's your lucky day, well, sort of. Former NBA All-Star Carl Boozer has signed up to find love on a spicy new Bravo reality dating show, "Kings Court," premiering on Sunday, July 13. Advertisement Boozer is a two-time all-star known for playing for several NBA teams, including the Utah Jazz, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers. The Duke University alum made headlines in May when he joined one of his former teams, the Jazz, in a front office scouting role. The former Blue Devil star attended the NBA combine and traveled on the Jazz's private jet with rookie Ace Bailey after the team took the rookie as the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Boozer's newest gig is a spin-off of another Bachelor-like dating show, "Queen's Court," which featured famous single women on their journey to find love. On the female-led series, 21 men competed for the hearts of Tamar Braxton, Evelyn Lozada, and Nivea.
