While it's no substitute for human guidance or a therapist, ChatGPT can be a great assistant in a pinch. Prompt: 'Help me make a decision between two things. Ask me questions first.'
Why it works: ChatGPT shines when you give it room to think with you. In other words, speak to it as you would a friend, not like a Google search.
The chatbot will ask clarifying questions, help you weigh pros and cons and even flag emotional bias.
AI can often help in ways when human emotion clouds judgement. As a bot, it doesn't have feelings and won't judge you even when the decision is life-changing.

Why it works: The longer you use ChatGPT (signed-in under one account), the better help it can be. The chatbot can remember conversations you've had, perhaps recall difficulties that may influence new decisions. It can also surface long-term vs. short-term consequences that you may not have considering, which can help you get clear on what matters most, without pushing you in one direction.
Prompt: "I need to have a hard conversation with someone. Can you help me script it?'
Why it works: From awkward roommate dynamics to asking your professor for an extension without sounding like you're making up an excuse, ChatGPT can help you phrase things in a way that's firm but still friendly. Honestly, I wish I'd had this in college — maybe it could've helped me gently explain to my roommate that midnight is not the ideal time for full-volume karaoke.

Why it works: These types of prompts help the model act as a vibe check for the way a college student is feeling emotionally and physically. Being focused on school, work, relationships and more can fog how someone's mental clarity. This is a quick check-in that can spot possible red flags.
Is ChatGPT a licensed therapist or professional coach? No. But is it surprisingly good at giving calm, helpful and sometimes eye-opening advice? Absolutely.

AI researcher ‘turns down $1bn pay offer from Mark Zuckerberg'
A tech worker has reportedly turned down a $1bn (£750m) pay deal to join Mark Zuckerberg's artificial intelligence (AI) unit amid an escalating war for talent in Silicon Valley. Mr Zuckerberg's Meta reportedly offered several researchers who work at Thinking Machines, a San Francisco-based AI start-up, packages worth hundreds of millions of dollars to join the social media giant. One of those packages would have been worth as much as $1bn over several years, according to a report from Wired, while some researchers were also offered between $200m and $500m over a four-year period. Most deals included an award worth $50m to $100m in the first year. So far, no staff at the start-up have taken up an offer from Meta. Last month, Thinking Machines raised $2bn at a $12bn valuation, despite having no product. A spokesman for Meta disputed the claims, although confirmed it had made a 'handful' of offers to staff at Thinking Machines. 'We made offers only to a handful of people at Thinking Machines and while there was one sizeable offer, the details are off,' the spokesman said. Thinking Machines was founded by 36-year-old Mira Murati, a former OpenAI executive who has become one of the powerful women in tech since launching the company. AI arms race The eye-watering pay offers come amid an AI arms race, with tech giants trying to tempt leading AI scientists and programmers to join their efforts over those of rivals. Sam Altman, the chief executive of OpenAI which owns ChatGPT, previously claimed Meta had offered his staff deals worth as much as $100m. Mr Zuckerberg has been personally leading a recruitment drive to attract leading scientists and developers to a new lab within Meta in a race against rivals to build highly powerful AI tools. The Meta chief executive has reportedly been reaching out to dozens of targets with personalised WhatsApp messages and bumper pay deals. Meta is spending tens of billions of dollars on AI data centres that will be used to help create more powerful machine-learning tools that Mr Zuckerberg has claimed could soon transform the economy and society. He has also already recruited around 50 leading researchers and experts for a new 'superintelligence' lab within Meta, after growing frustrated at the lack of progress by his own engineers. Earlier this year, Meta delayed a major update to its AI technology, dubbed Behemoth. Mr Zuckerberg also engineered a $14.3bn deal to poach Alexandr Wang, the founder of AI business Scale AI, to lead his new team, acquiring a 49pc stake in the start-up in the process. Even if it seems like a stock's price should move in a certain direction because of results, the stock market doesn't operate on logical cause and effect. Nvidia's high valuation leaves little room for error Nvidia's trailing-12-month price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of 29 is the highest you'll find in an S&P 500 stock and 10 times the S&P 500 average. This ultra-high valuation leaves Nvidia with little room for error -- or what investors may perceive as error -- and can increase volatility. Vibe Coding And The 'Platformification' Of Market Insights
Vibe coding for faster, deeper consumer insights Vibe coding is a software development approach that uses AI, particularly (LLMs), to generate and refine code based on high-level NL instructions, saving a massive amount of manpower and time vs. manual coding. It enables non-coders to easily and accessibly achieve desired outcomes by letting AI handle the technical aspects of the development process. 'Platformification', my favorite new term this year which I'm seeing across many contexts, involves consolidating platforms, data, analysis and suppliers to achieve end to end insights and solutions, making information access and analysis across databases, departments and geographies far easier, faster and more cost-effective. In the past 5 months since the term vibe coding was coined, the concept has transformed software development lifecycles and it has jumped to an entirely different space: market insights. To understand more, I spoke with Discuss, a market insights platform I'd been hearing about from friends at CPG companies because it is at the forefront of the transformation to AI solutions spanning a broad spectrum of marketing research activities. Discuss takes a vibe coding approach to make it easier for non-researchers to gain in-depth human understanding of their consumers.
