Celtic legend & Lisbon Lion John Fallon dies aged 84
Fallon signed for Celtic in 1958 and would make almost 200 appearances for the club.
Everyone at #CelticFC is deeply saddened at the news that former Celtic goalkeeper and Lisbon Lion, John Fallon, has passed away.
Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad time.

During his time in Glasgow, Fallon helped the club to six league title, five League Cups and two Scottish Cups.
The goalkeeper was also part of the famous Lisbon Lions side who won the European Cup in 1967. Fallon was the only substitute listed for Celtic for the final.
Fallon would go on to play for Motherwell and Greenock Morton before retiring in the mid-1970s.

A Celtic statement read: "His love for Celtic, however, was a constant throughout the years, and he followed the club at home and away for the rest of life.
"His passing comes as a great sadness to us all, and the thoughts and prayers of everyone connected with Celtic Football Club are with his family and friends at this sad time."
Chris Sutton posted: "Awfully sad news to hear of John Fallon's passing.
"John was a lovely man. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Fallon family."

Simpson-Pusey made his first City appearance against the Hoops last summer, starting in a friendly in North Carolina which Celts won 4-3. The centre-back made his senior debut last season too and played six times in total for Pep Guardiola's side, including starts in the Premier League and Champions League. Those starts came during a difficult spell for City though and included a 4-1 defeat to Sporting CP, with Simpson-Pusey returning to the club's academy team for the last few months of the campaign. The report claims that Celts will face competition from the English Championship for Simpson-Pusey, but that their status as a European side who will be competing for titles could make them favourites for his signature. It's also reported that the Manchester native will be the one to decide his destination for the 25/26 season. Rodgers has already seen central defenders Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke move on this summer, with Stephen Walsh possibly also on the way out. Shin Yamada tells Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers exactly why he can succeed Kyogo
The striker netted his first goal for the Hoops' in the Como Cup clash with Al Ahli Shin Yamada has told Brendan Rodgers can be just as deadly as Kyogo at Celtic. The Hoops boss is desperate to add more firepower after Nicholas Kuhn 's exit and Jota's long-term injury. Celts also failed to land a replacement for Kyogo when the frontman departed in January. Yamada landed on a £1.5m deal from Kawasaki Frontale but Rodgers admitted the frontman could be one for the future. The Japan ace is convinced he can be a man for the here and now – and he's ready to fill the Kyogo void. Yamada – who notched the winning penalty against Al-Ahli in the Como Cup at the weekend – said: 'Obviously I heard all the news about Kyogo scoring goals for Celtic. 'As players, I would say some parts of our game is similar. In front of goal, especially. 'However, I have something different which is speed and power. With that, I hope to perform as well as him and contribute to Celtic. 'I have speed at one-v-ones. I like to run behind the defenders. That is one of my strengths.' Yamada was denied a debut against Ajax in Italy last week due to red tape but got his first taste against the Saudi Arabian big guns. The 25-year-old had a goal disallowed for a narrow offside call but showed bottle to step up and convert the winning penalty in the third-place play-off. The Japan squad man caught the eye in his second half showing but he insisted there is still much more to come. He said: 'I am happy I took part in the game. And, of course, I am happy to have scored the winning penalty. 'I thought I had scored in the second-half but was off-side. I wish I had the pass earlier. 'But I have only come to the club for a week so we need to understand each other's strengths better and have better connections. 'I think that part will come soon. I am obviously a striker so personally my job is to score a lot of goals and I think that's what I'm being asked to do at this club. 'I need to demand from my team-mates that they give me a pass in certain moments. 'That is a part of my game I need to improve with my team-mates.'

Mats Knoester confident after stunning Celtic as Aberdeen star looks to smash Hearts hoodoo
The Dons haven't won at Tynecastle since 2017 and kick off their season in Gorgie against old gaffer Derek McInnes and a team in form Mats Knoester believes Aberdeen can smash their Hearts hoodoo – after crushing their Celtic curse to lift the Scottish Cup. The Dons haven't won at Tynecastle since 2017. But Cup hero Knoester is confident that is about to change when Jimmy Thelin 's men head there for their Premiership opener on Monday night. The 26-year-old Dutch defender stated: 'They're a good team, a big team as well. I think it's going to be an exciting game. 'It's not going to be an easy game away, but I think it's going to be interesting to see. 'Always the first game in the season is interesting to see how the teams are after the pre-season. 'We're aware that it's a tough game, away at Hearts, but I also think the past doesn't really matter. 'And if I can go back to Celtic at Hampden – we don't have a really good record against Celtic and then you win the game. 'So, in football I don't think you should go too much back to the past and then look forward.' Hearts have appointed former Dons boss Derek McInnes and Knoester expects them to be one of their main rivals for third spot. He accepted: 'Yeah, if we look a bit further, I think they're also one of the competitors. 'Of course, as Aberdeen, you're one of the bigger teams, and Hearts is that as well. 'So, in that way, I think we should compete with each other. 'But I prefer to just go week by week. I do that with myself and also with the team and their goals.' Knoester knows that Aberdeen's Cup win will mean they will have a target on their backs this season, but he is confident Thelin's men can handle the extra pressure. Knoester admitted: 'Yeah, it can be. (It's) No problem. If they want to see it like that, it's fine.' The Pittodrie side wrapped up their pre-season with defeats to English Premier League Fulham and Ipswich, who were relegated from the tip flight last term. They lost the games 4-1 and 3-1, respectively, but Knoester believes the games were exactly what Aberdeen needed. He claimed: 'I think that was the goal, to have some big opponents, let's say, like Fulham and now Ipswich, especially going into Europe as well. 'We have a tough season coming, so I think if you want to improve something, you also have to play against the better teams, because they will show you what's needed to be on that level. 'I think one big difference was consistency – you see how consistent they are, and if they do make a mistake, they make up for it. They make a foul or they're back fast enough. 'Also, if there's a rebound, there's somebody there who taps it in, while we just miss it. 'Stuff like that, I think we can learn from that. You're the one that sets a standard for yourself.' Boss Thelin also experimented in the two games and former Ferencvaros stopper Knoester added: 'What we wanted to do is play a high line, maybe a bit more extreme than what we normally do. 'Just to try and create pressure on them and take a bit more risk. 'That's one thing that makes it sometimes a little bit more difficult or challenging to cover every space. 'Obviously we need to adjust a little bit on that towards next Monday.' Guaranteed European group stage football will also put an additional strain on the Aberdeen players. Former boss Barry Robson lost his job when Dons struggled with European games last time but Knoester believes that won't be the case now. He said: 'We trained under really heavy circumstances, in pre-season a lot of high-intensity metres. 'We did everything we could to be ready for that.'
