
Lava launches affordable Storm Lite, Storm Play 5G smartphones
Lava
on Friday expanded its
budget 5G smartphone
line-up with the launch of the
Storm Lite
and
Storm Play
, carrying an offer price of ₹7,999 and ₹9,999, respectively.
The Storm Lite comes with 4GB RAM, extendable by another 4GB virtually, in two storage options: 64GB or 128GB, while the Storm Play comes with 6GB RAM (extendable by 6GB virtually) paired with 128GB memory.
The Storm Play and the Storm Lite are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 and the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset, respectively. Both smartphones feature a 6.75-inch HD+ notch display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The vanilla model comes with a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor at the back and a 5MP front camera. The Storm Lite, on the other hand, has a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor paired with a 2MP unit, and an 8MP camera at the front.
Both smartphones run on a large 5000mAh battery, with support for USB Type-C wired charging. The devices come with Android 15 OS, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and are IP64 rated for dust and water resistance.
Both Storm Play and Storm Lite will receive one Android upgrade and two years of security updates.
'The Storm series is designed to introduce best in industry innovation—Storm Play and Storm Lite are the epitome of the same. Featuring the world's first Dimensity 7060 and for the first time ever LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 in this segment, these devices will be true trailblazers,' said Sumit Singh, head of product at Lava.
The Storm Play will go on sale on June 19, followed by Storm Lite on June 24, at 12pm, on Amazon.
