It looks like Netflix's live-action adaptation of One Piece is charting a course into uncharted waters.
Netflix has announced that Season 2 of One Piece will be released in 2026, this time, one of the most popular characters from the anime is finally joining the diverse crew — Tony Tony Chopper.
Fury of the Gods, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3), has been cast as the voice of Chopper, but will serve as the facial motion capture for the adorable half-reindeer, half-human doctor.
Who is Tony Tony Chopper?
Tony Tony Chopper is one of the key crew members aboard the Straw Hat Pirates, under the leadership of the adventurous and stretchy rubber monster pirate Monkey D.
Luffy. Chopper is a reindeer who consumed the Human-Human Fruit, which gives him the power to speak, walk on two legs, and even change into various forms. Tasked with the care of humans and AI alike, he becomes the crew's doctor, and a favorite for his sweet persona and even sweeter heart.
In the anime and manga, Chopper first joins the crew during the Drum Island arc, which Season 2 should be covering.

Netflix's upcoming live-action One Piece series will have some sort of similar direction, with Castlevania and Suicide Squad actress Mikaela Hoover not only voicing Chopper but performing facial snap too, adding emotional nuance to the CG character.

The casting announcement came during Netflix's worldwide Tudum fan event from the original series' returning members, including Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji).
This choice of character design is a strong indication of Netflix's willingness to make sure Castor is an expressive character and one that remains devoted to his anime origins.
One Piece season 2 expands its star-studded cast
In addition to continuing the epic story set into motion by the first season, the new season will introduce a whole new world of characters and headline-grabbing villains like those from the Baroque Works saga and the Drum Island arc.
New cast members for One Piece season 2 are:

Returning cast of One Piece season 2
The original Straw Hats are returning as well for Season 2:
Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy One of the things that attracted me to the original anime series was Luffy as a character.
Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro【Credit: Netflix】
Emily Rudd as Nami Loading… Emily Rudd as Nami
That's Jacob Romero as Usopp, looking cool in his straw hat.
Taz Skylar as Sanji Source, Netflix So far, critiques of this kind haven't hurt One Piece.
Other returning cast members include Ilia Isorelys Paulino (Alvida), Jeff Ward (Buggy), and Michael Dorman (Gol D. Roger).
Behind the scenes: One Piece live-action creators
The new live-action series, which is a collaboration between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios, is being produced in conjunction with the original manga's Japanese publisher Shueisha.

Eiichiro Oda (mangaka, creator of One Piece)
Matt Owens and Joe Tracz (co-showrunners and writers)

After the colossal worldwide phenomenon that was Season 1 — it reached No. 1 on Netflix charts in 91 countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom — expectations are sky-high for Season 2, as fans across the globe clamored for more.
When will One Piece season 2 be released?
Netflix has officially announced that One Piece Season 2 will be released in 2026.
No specific release month has been released so far, but the cameras are already rolling. Due to the scale of the CG and motion capture work needed for Chopper, the longer production timeline is warranted.
Fans can look forward to new episodes launching exclusively on Netflix around the world in mid to late 2026.
First look at Chopper in One Piece season 2
Netflix has provided a first look at Tony Tony Chopper, allowing fans to see how the cutie-patootie hybrid character will look.
Though not much has been unveiled yet, the first visual is promising, indicating a true-to-the-source but realistic approach, blending CG with emotional humanity which is due largely to Hoover's motion capture.

Netflix's One Piece live-action series is not just another anime adaptation. It's a global event. The adaptation transports one of Japan's most beloved stories to audiences around the world for the first time, and as monumental as a live-action Luffy or Zoro are, actually seeing a CGI Chopper is a huge leap forward.
For our newer fans, this will be the season to get invested in epic emotional backstories, new Jumanji islands and cool warrior like battles. For manga readers and longtime anime fans, it's an opportunity to see iconic characters — Chopper! Robin! Crocodile! — in a brand new light.

Exclusive - Amandeep Sidhu: I have lived through all the scenes of Tu Haii Aashiiki
A romantic by nature, actress Amandeep Sidhu says that she has enjoyed each and every scene of her show Tu Haii Aashiiki. She adds that shooting the show was an amazing experience. 'The name is all about love, and it means a lot to me because I am a very romantic person. I am an over-the-top romantic kind of a person. I'm a Cancerian. I have lived through all the scenes, all the episodes that you will see, all the things that I have shown, how Pumma is loving Noor, I have lived through it because on TV, we have never done anything like this, I have never done anything like this, so it was very new for me, falling in love. You know, as a full movie romance, so I think this is what I wanted the most at this moment, I wanted to, you know, feel it, so I felt it and it was amazing, it was an amazing experience,' she says. Talking about her role, she says, 'The character of Noor is a very simple, very outgoing, outspoken, mature college-going girl. She loves her family. I can relate to the way she loves her family, the way she cares about her family's decisions. But somewhere deep down, I don't relate to her. She does a lot of things just for the happiness of her family and not her own. But Amandeep is not like that. I always listen to my heart. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Earn a Global Degree BITS Pilani Digital Apply Now Undo I always take opinions from my mother, my family. But the last call is always mine. So in that way, I'll say Noor and Amandeep are a little different. I take charge of my life every time,' she says. The actress says that it is a pleasure being part of a show produced by actor-producers Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta . 'What I feel is that Sargun and Ravi are working on the characters more than on the story. They feel that if we make the character so strong that the audience can connect with it, then the story will work. So, I feel that if we talk about our show, this is the story of a guy who loves a girl very much. He has made Pumma's character so strong that, I mean, everyone will fall in love with Pumma. And because Pumma loves Noor, everyone will fall in love with Noor. So, it's a beautiful thing they are doing,' she says. As for the audience, she is confident that they will love the story. 'The audience connects to the simple and relatable stories we show nowadays. If you show them very simple, realistic movies, very relatable stories, relatable characters, relatable scenes, they will enjoy it. They will enjoy it again and again. If I talk about myself, I like stories that are very real, and then I watch it again. I feel that every show of Dreamiyata is simple and unique. If I talk about Badal Pe Paon Hai, which I did before this, you will see, the episodes, the scenes, were so simple, so realistic, and actually for that, people loved Bani,' she says. Amandeep Sidhu on Saubhagyavati Bhava 2: We were made for the show, there are a lot of positive vibes
