IBM and NVIDIA Expand Collaboration to Accelerate AI at Scale
A 2024 IBM report found that more than three in four executives surveyed (77 percent) say generative AI is market-ready, up from just 36 percent in 2023. With this push to put AI into production comes an increased need for compute and data-intensive technologies. The collaboration between IBM and NVIDIA will enable IBM to provide hybrid AI solutions that take advantage of open technologies and platforms while also supporting data management, performance, security, and governance.
Leveraging the NVIDIA AI Data Platform reference architecture, these new solutions are the latest in the IBM and NVIDIA collaboration to build enterprise infrastructure for AI: Augmenting Unstructured Data Processing for AI Performance : With IBM's new content-aware storage (CAS) capability, enterprises will be able to extract the meaning hidden in their rapidly growing volumes of unstructured data for inferencing, without compromising trust and safety, to responsibly scale and enhance AI applications like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and AI reasoning. IBM Storage Scale will respond to queries using the extracted and augmented data, speeding up the communications between GPUs and storage using NVIDIA BlueField-3 DPUs and NVIDIA Spectrum-X networking. The multimodal document data extraction workflow will also leverage NVIDIA NeMo Retriever microservices, built with NVIDIA NIM. CAS will be embedded in the next update of IBM Fusion planned for the second quarter of this year.

Enabling More Accessible AI : IBM plans to integrate its watsonx offerings with NVIDIA NIM as part of a larger effort to provide access to leading AI models across multiple cloud environments. This will allow organizations to leverage watsonx.ai, IBM's enterprise-grade AI platform and developer studio, to develop and deploy AI models into their applications of choice while utilizing externally hosted models. IBM's watsonx.governance also allows enterprises to implement robust monitoring and governance of NVIDIA NIM microservices across any hosting environment. This type of interoperability is increasingly essential as organizations adopt agentic AI and other advanced applications that require AI model integration.

This includes technologies like NVIDIA AI Foundry, NVIDIA NeMo, NVIDIA AI Enterprise, NVIDIA Blueprints, and NVIDIA Clara to accelerate high-compute, complex tasks, while managing AI governance, data security and compliance requirements.
'IBM is focused on helping enterprises build and deploy effective AI models and scale with speed,' said Hillery Hunter , CTO and General Manager of Innovation, IBM Infrastructure. 'Together, IBM and NVIDIA are collaborating to create and offer the solutions, services and technology to unlock, accelerate, and protect data – ultimately helping clients overcome AI's hidden costs and technical hurdles to monetize AI and drive real business outcomes.'
'AI agents need to rapidly access, fetch and process data at scale, and today, these steps occur in separate silos,' said Rob Davis , vice president, Storage Networking Technology, NVIDIA. 'The integration of IBM's content-aware storage with NVIDIA AI orchestrates data and compute across an optimized network fabric to overcome silos with an intelligent, scalable system that drives near real-time inference for responsive AI reasoning.' 0 0

Kuwaiti Creators Use NVIDIA to Reimagine Cyberpunk City
Home » Emerging technologies » Gaming » Kuwaiti Creators Use NVIDIA to Reimagine Cyberpunk City Kuwaiti gaming influencer Khaled Al-Mutairi, known as 'Gamer Snack,' and filmmaker Mohamed Al-Roz have unveiled a unique collaboration powered by NVIDIA technologies. The duo recreated Kuwait City as a futuristic, virtual world inspired by Night City from the game Cyberpunk 2077. The creators used NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPUs to bring the project to life. The hardware enabled high-performance gaming and seamless content creation, resulting in a visually stunning video that blends real and virtual environments. Mohamed Al-Roz explored Kuwait City, capturing real-life footage. He applied neon effects to add a cyberpunk theme and futuristic tone. Gamer Snack recorded Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay using DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation and Full Ray Tracing in 4K. NVIDIA's technologies helped merge both worlds, creating immersive visuals. The team reported that DLSS 4 enhanced game performance by more than 8X without compromising quality. They also revealed that the videos were edited on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 platform. The NVIDIA Studio platform, combined with Adobe Creative Suite, accelerated the editing process using AI tools. Key highlights include: DLSS 4.0 and Full Ray Tracing created near real-life visuals. GeForce RTX 50 GPUs supported 4K rendering and high-speed editing. According to Mohamed Al-Roz, the beauty of the project lies in emotional visualization. Gamer Snack praised Cyberpunk 2077 and noted how NVIDIA technologies elevate its experience. The project demonstrated the performance and creative potential of GeForce RTX 50 GPUs. It also set a new benchmark for immersive content. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 GPUs are now available at Quadra Stores in Kuwait. Options include standalone units, custom PCs, and laptops for gamers and creators.

NVIDIA allowed to sell H20 AI chips to China following Trump meeting
NVIDIA has announced that it has been allowed to resume sales of its H20 AI chips to China, following a meeting between its CEO Jensen Huang and US President Donald Trump. Geopolitical tensions between Beijing and Washington have heightened since Trump returned to the Oval Office in January of this year, and at the heart of the economic dispute is AI. Earlier this month, NVIDIA became the first public company in history to surpass $4 trillion in market capitalisation on Wall Street. In April, the Trump administration restricted sales of NVIDIA's AI chip to China, but that decision has now been reversed following a positive meeting between Huang and Trump. The announcement has sparked a frenzy amongst a number of Chinese companies that are desperate to secure the H20 AI chip. Shares in NVIDIA have rose by 4% as a direct consequence of the announcement. The Trump administration confirmed that NVIDIA would be allowed to sell the H20 chip after licenses WERE granted by the Commerce Department. NVIDIA will resume deliveries of the chip, which was specifically designed for Chinese customers and has been a top seller in the country since its initial rollout in 2024. In addition to this, Huang has confirmed that the chip behemoth has developed a new AI chip for China that he said would be useful for factory automation and logistics. The chip is built on the Blackwell architecture—which is NVIDIA's most advanced on the market—but is downgraded in some features to address U.S. officials' concerns about exports to China, people familiar with the chip said. The decision by US authorities to allow NVIDIA to resume sales of its H20 AI chips to China is seen my many analysts and political commentators as an act of 'good will' in continued trade talks between the two economic superpowers. Access to AI chips and other advanced technologies has been a key priority for Chinese negotiators.
