Bitget Wallet Launches "Fomo Thursdays" to Democratize Early Token Access

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, June 18, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Bitget Wallet, the leading non-custodial crypto wallet, is rolling out a new weekly program called Fomo Thursdays, offering users recurring access to early-stage token projects through a low-cost, gamified staking mechanism. It reflects the company's broader push to simplify token participation by embedding launch activities directly within the wallet interface.
Each Thursday, users can stake $10 worth of tokens to receive a randomized allocation of project tokens. The format removes high entry thresholds, trading requirements, and point-based systems common in traditional launch models. Rewards are distributed on-chain, and users can reclaim their full stake after each round. Unlike models that rely on sustained trading or large holdings, Fomo Thursdays offers a fixed-entry experience with transparent allocation logic and no principal risk.
'Fomo Thursdays is a shift in how product launches can engage users directly,' said Jamie Elkaleh, CMO of Bitget Wallet. 'By lowering barriers and introducing a weekly rhythm, we're turning passive announcements into active, repeatable participation.'
The first event features Bombie, a LINE-based mini-game developed by the team behind Catizen. As the first LINE Mini DApp to conduct a token launch, Bombie will allocate over 40 million BOMB tokens through Bitget Wallet's exclusive TGE (token generation event) claim interface. Participants will have a chance to receive rewards, with the top prize set at $888 equivalent in BOMB tokens. With over 12 million users across LINE and Telegram, Bombie reflects a growing trend toward integrating casual messaging-based apps with tokenized infrastructure.
The first staking window opens June 18 at 8:00 UTC and closes June 19 at 8:00 UTC, with token claims available starting June 19 at 10:00 UTC. Winners will receive BOMB tokens directly in-wallet, while all users may reclaim their staked USDT.

Cathie Wood predicts 'once unattainable new home' demand will spark wealth shift

Cathie Wood predicts 'once unattainable new home' demand will spark wealth shift originally appeared on TheStreet. The mortgage policy in the U.S. could witness a monumental change within the next few months, thanks to a recent development. On June 25, the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) director William Pulte issued an order directing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to consider cryptocurrency as an asset as part of mortgage requests. Part of the broader crypto adoption agenda of the Trump administration, the directive asks the bodies to formulate mortgage proposals to consider crypto assets for reserves in single-family loan risk assessments. Industry leaders such as ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood appreciated the move, saying it "could bolster both crypto and housing significantly." Join the discussion with CryptoWendyO on. However, there is one component of the directive that has divided the crypto community, which is considering crypto assets held only on U.S.-regulated, centralized exchanges. An X user went @StackingAlpha so far as to call the FHFA's refusal to consider crypto held in self-custody against the ethos of crypto. For those unfamiliar, most crypto communities pride themselves on being decentralized and outside the control of centralized intermediaries such as banks or exchanges. The user asked Wood if those with significant Bitcoin holdings in self-custody would move them to centralized exchanges just to avail themselves of the benefit in mortgage applications. Join the discussion with Scott Melker on. Wood responded that those holding Bitcoin for a long time probably have a large part of their net worth in crypto assets. So, she wouldn't be surprised to see them shifting some of their Bitcoin holdings to the Coinbase (Nasdaq: COIN) crypto exchange so that they can use these funds as collateral in their mortgage applications "for a once unattainable new home." While the FHFA's directive mentions U.S.-regulated centralized exchanges, it doesn't specify any particular exchange. But Wood mentioned Coinbase as an example in her response. Well, Wood's investment firm, ARK Invest, holds more than $1 billion in COIN shares, as per Stockcircle. Founded in 2012, Coinbase is the largest crypto exchange in the U.S. As per Bitcoin Treasuries, it holds 9,267 BTC worth nearly $1 billion on its balance sheet. It debuted on Nasdaq on Apr. 14, 2021, becoming the first crypto company to go public. This year, the COIN stock joined the S&P 500 on May 19. On June 26, it hit an all-time high (ATH) of $381.35. Join the discussion with CryptosRUs on. Wood isn't the only one to think of Coinbase while discussing the latest FHFA directive. Pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton also agreed with her that the latest directive is "great news" for Coinbase. Deaton went on to compare the company to the likes of Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, CME, American Express, or JPMorgan Chase. The COIN stock closed at $353.43 on June 27. Bitcoin and crypto investors hit with flood of IRS letters, say tax experts

Crypto investors are poised for record returns on Bitcoin and other digital assets—and so, too, is the taxman. The Internal Revenue Service has sent U.S. crypto investors a flood of warning letters about their digital asset investments over the past two months. The volume of letters—which warn taxpayers that crypto investments they declared on their recent tax returns may not be accurate—are an increase over the past year, according to three crypto tax experts. CoinLedger, a crypto tax platform, has seen a spike in users asking about the government communiqués. The number of support conversations on CoinLedger that included the words 'IRS letters' from May through June numbered close to 800, a ninefold increase compared to the same period in 2024, David Kemmerer, cofounder and CEO of the tax website, told Fortune. 'Thousands of investors are getting these,' he claimed. 'Naturally, when that happens, we get a flood of customers coming to us being like, 'Hey, what do I do?'' Two crypto tax attorneys have also noticed an uptick in inquiries about the letters. At least 10 recipients have reached out to his firm over the past two months, said Jordan Bass, a crypto tax attorney and accountant. That's compared to no inquiries sent to his office in 2024. Andrew Gordon, another attorney who specializes in crypto tax law, also said he's seen an increase. 'We're getting at least a couple calls a week,' he said. The three crypto tax experts said they haven't seen such an uptick in crypto inquiries from the IRS since the tax agency sent out a flood of letters in 2020 and 2021. In 2017, the IRS obtained thousands of customer records from the U.S. crypto exchange Coinbase as the result of a court order. Two years later, the tax agency devised a set of crypto-specific 'voluntary compliance' letters that it then sent out to investors. The notices tell crypto owners that the IRS has information that the recipients had 'one or more accounts containing virtual currency.' In two versions off the letters, the tax agency merely advises investors to check to see if they've correctly reported their crypto transactions to the IRS. Recipients are not required to respond. But in the case of a third type of IRS letter, recipients are instructed to respond to the IRS with either new tax returns, amended tax returns, or an explanation of why recipients believe they've correctly reported their crypto transactions to the U.S. government. The CoinLedger CEO and the two crypto tax attorneys did not know why more investors have reached out to them about IRS letters in 2025 as opposed to years prior. Gordon, one of the tax attorneys, noticed that a common factor linking recent recipients were that they had accounts on the crypto exchange Poloniex. Kemmerer, the CEO of CoinLedger, echoed Gordon and said that increased IRS outreach to crypto investors 'typically follows when the IRS has gotten their hands on some amount of data.' The IRS did not immediately respond to a request for comment. 'I'm sure there's just people randomly getting selected, and the lucky ones get these scary letters,' added Kemmerer. Could Crypto Take SoFi Stock to the Next Level?

SoFi announced it will bring cryptocurrency trading back to its app. The bank will also use blockchain to facilitate cross-border money transfers. These features could help bring new customers into the growing ecosystem. 10 stocks we like better than SoFi Technologies › After a nearly two-year hiatus from the cryptocurrency industry, banking and finance app SoFi (NASDAQ: SOFI) recently announced that it will be getting back into the crypto market, and in an even bigger way than before. SoFi made two specific announcements. First, it reported the return of crypto trading to its app -- a service it had offered until late 2023. Second, the bank announced that it would leverage the capabilities of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology to facilitate rapid international money transfers. And perhaps most importantly, SoFi called this the "first of many planned crypto and blockchain innovations across [their] products and services." Both of these newly announced capabilities are expected to launch later in 2025. When it comes to cross-border money transfers, the goal is to create a more seamless and low-cost experience than currently exists in the market. And with the return of crypto trading, SoFi's goal is to gradually expand the platform, including offering stablecoins, allowing members to borrow against cryptocurrencies, and introducing staking features. The goal is to equip the SoFi app with more financial service capabilities than any other app. But will crypto and its related capabilities become a major revenue driver that will move the stock? To clarify, SoFi used to offer cryptocurrency trading in its app but closed it down a few years ago, mainly due to potential regulatory issues involving chartered banks providing cryptocurrency services to customers. This is also why you generally haven't seen any major banks roll out cryptocurrency trading platforms of their own. Specifically, SoFi became a bank in January 2022, and as part of the approval process, it was forced to refrain from engaging in any cryptocurrency-related activities without specific approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). However, SoFi says that clarification provided by the OCC recently makes it practical for nationally chartered banks to "provide crypto custody and execution services on behalf of customers, hold dollar deposits serving as reserves backing stablecoins in certain circumstances, engage in certain stablecoin activities to facilitate payment transactions, and more." On the one hand, it's important to point out that back in 2023, when it shut down crypto trading, SoFi specifically said that it wasn't a material part of its business. On the other hand, it's fair to say that interest in cryptocurrency trading has once again surged in popularity since SoFi shut down its original cryptocurrency platform in late 2023. It's unclear how SoFi's crypto trading pricing will be structured, but it will likely make money through either a percentage-based transaction fee or a spread between the buy and sell prices of each digital asset. To be clear, I don't see crypto trading becoming one of the company's major revenue streams anytime soon. But adding this feature to its ecosystem could make SoFi's platform more attractive to potential customers interested in crypto, who may also become banking customers, loan customers, and so forth. The bigger news is likely the ability to send money internationally in a fully automated and low-cost manner directly through the SoFi app. While this is technically a crypto-enabled feature, it will likely appeal to a broader group than just cryptocurrency fans, as the transactions will be initiated in U.S. dollars. And this would be a unique feature among finance apps. With over $90 billion in international transfers sent annually from the U.S., a better way to do it could be a major draw. SoFi's customer base is growing quickly. It added more than 800,000 members during the first quarter alone, an all-time high for the company. If adding cryptocurrency trading and related services can help keep this growth going -- or even accelerate it -- it could be a big win for investors.
