Jonathan Anderson's Dior Man Is a Delight

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." There's a new (new, new) look at Dior. After weeks of teasing glimpses, Jonathan Anderson has finally started to unveil his vision for the nearly 80-year-old fashion house. At Les Invalides in Paris, Anderson showed his debut collection for Dior men's and presented an entirely fresh vernacular for the global brand—one that delicately balanced the historical with the present while presenting lots of propositions for the future. The livestream began with videos of brand ambassadors traveling to the show. Lakeith Stanfield and Josh O'Connor chitchatted in the back of the cab, while Robert Pattinson leisurely strolled into an elevator. All of these guys were decked out in Anderson's new Dior, or perhaps it was less decked out and more dressed. Impossibly stylish, the clothes bend the arch between a dapper man and someone who's a bit of a scoundrel. Outside, Anderson collaborator and friend the director Luca Guadagnino was filming some of the recognizable guests who began to arrive, like Sam Nivola and Donatella Versace. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky were there. Sabrina Carpenter pulled up wearing an Anderson-ized version of Dior's New Look. Inside the venue, a nearly-empty gallery space had been built, punctuated only by light parquet floors and wooden blocks for seats. The walls were sparsely hung with still life paintings by Old Masters like Jean Siméon Chardin, whose work Monsieur Dior was fond of. Other than Versace, several more designers came out to support Anderson, including Pierpaolo Piccioli and Matthieu Blazy, both set to make their own debuts, at Balenciaga and Chanel respectively, this fall. The anticipation for this collection was high, to say the least. Once the first look hit the runway, it was clear just how much the hype had been warranted. Bang out of the gate, a hit: Anderson paired a Donegal tweed bar jacket with ballooning cargo shorts fastened with a pleated, cascading bustle at the back, a design loosely inspired by the mille-feuille dress silhouettes Monsieur Dior showed at the beginning of his career. Everything that followed painted a delightful, whip-smart portrait of the past infused with the present. Riffing off of ideas from his final womenswear collection for Loewe last year, Anderson wrote in the show notes that these pieces were meant to signify 'a reconstruction of formality' and celebrate the 'joy in the art of dressing: a spontaneous, empathetic collusion of then and now, of relics of the past things rediscovered in the archives, classic tropes of class, and pieces that have endured the test of time.' For any other designer, finding resonance with 'then and now' at a storied house might manifest itself as a re-issue. Anderson is one of the most important designers of his generation because he understands how not to do that. He makes things that are recognizable and ripped from history books and turns them into something we've never seen before. For Spring 2026, Anderson did this by crafting precise replicas of embroidered waistcoats and pairing them with white jeans and sneakers. Basic neckties were loose and worn flipped over to reveal Anderson's revamp of the Dior logo—a journey back to its roots when M. Dior, in his exacting way, would only settle for a French-style font. There were classic cravats and rococo-style micro-florals set against athletic socks and fisherman sandals. Anderson's new book totes were carried throughout the show, touting titles like Bonjour Tristesse and In Cold Blood—accessories for a hot dude who reads. The capes and maxi shirt-dresses added touches of Anderson's signature kookiness, abstracting and bending the idea of time even further. These men were dandy and regal, but also a little rough around the edges, the kind that Anderson has made into a bona fide style archetype over the last decade. No one else could, at least in this moment, make eighteenth-century wardrobe staples feel like they belonged with a pair of barrel leg jeans. Anderson imagines completely unimaginable wardrobes for those outside of the fashion sphere, for those who never thought a tie could be worn backwards or a pair of cargos could sashay. The biggest challenge of these gargantuan creative director jobs at luxury houses is being everything to everyone—being a creative director whose clothes, marketing, ambassadors, and accessories appeal to the classic brand loyalists, the high-net worth clients who want a logo splattered all over their bodies, and the kids who are looking for someone to tell them what's coming next. Anderson can imagine something for every luxury customer, and he has the vision to build new sartorial archetypes through instinctive design. He got a standing ovation of course, walking out with a shy swagger, the kind we'd just witnessed reverberate through the clothes he showed on the runway. This is the delight and the dream of Anderson. It was then, it is now, and it will be as he keeps moving ahead at Dior. Steam Summer Sale: Snag 4 Major Borderlands Games for Under $25 Before Borderlands 4

If you want to catch up on the Borderlands series before Borderlands 4 comes out on Sept. 12, you're not going to find a better opportunity than this. Every mainline Borderlands game is steeply discounted for Steam's Summer sale, with many of them in the single digits. You can currently get Borderlands GOTY Enhanced, Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and Borderlands 3 for a grand total of $22. The first game represents about half of that cost, so if you've already played that one or want to skip, you can get the other three for just $12. Various DLC are also on sale if you want to add to the base games. This is an absolute steal. Borderlands 2 is one of my all-time favorite FPS games, and despite being more than a decade old, I'd argue it's worth about $20 just on its own. For me, it's the pinnacle (so far) of the series' hero designs and enemy encounters -- for my money, Zer0, Gunzerker and Gaige are three of the most fun vault hunters the series has ever made. And the True Vault Hunter Mode and Ultimate Vault Hunter Modes (the new game plus modes) really add a lot of replay value by ratcheting up the strategy through increased importance of matching your elemental weapons to the right enemy health type -- think type matchups in Pokemon, except with guns. What I particularly love about the Borderlands series is the customization it offers. The games give you at least four vault hunter classes to choose from, and those classes offer additional options via skill trees that allow you to adjust the way your vault hunter plays. For example, Zer0 has options for sniping, stealth or melee. Add in different gun manufacturers whose weapons all have a different feel, plus different categories of guns -- pistols, SMGs, sniper rifles, etc. -- and elemental weapon types on top of that, and you end up with a veritable treasure trove of ways to tune your vault hunter's gameplay. Also, you can throw grenades that explode money. I almost crashed Borderlands 3 because I was exploding so much money. Team up with a friend and just start blasting. 2K Games/Gearbox Software The original Borderlands established the formula and some of the regular elements like soldier and siren classes, vending machines for gear and health, plus some of the recurring characters like de facto mascot Moxxi. Borderlands 2 refined that formula and introduced an amazing villain who added more narrative depth. The Pre-Sequel shook things up by taking us to space and giving us laser weapons. Borderlands 3 took a step back in terms of narrative and characters, but added some nice mechanical polish, like being able to mantle up ledges or slide into barrels to send them flying into enemies. All four of those games will take you in the realm of 100 hours total to beat if you stick to the main quests, or closer to 200 hours if you're the type to get sidetracked occasionally. Pro tip: Talk, finagle or blackmail some friends into playing with you. The games are significantly more fun with other players. For the complete Borderlands experience, you can also tack on the D&D-inspired spinoff game Tiny Tina's Wonderlands for $12 and Tales from the Borderlands, an acclaimed narrative choices game, for $15. With Borderlands 4 coming out in just a few months, you're not going to get a better chance to start or add to your collection. CATCH A RIIIDE, vault hunters.

Richard Dreyfuss Launches Exclusive Merch Line for ‘Jaws' 50th Anniversary

Richard Dreyfuss is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Jaws in a unique way. The actor, who played marine biologist Matt Hooper in the 1975 Steven Spielberg thriller, launched a new website loaded with merch for Jaws fans—just in time for the film's milestone anniversary on June 20. In a post on his official website, Dreyfuss, 77, welcomed fans to 'step aboard the Orca and dive into the legacy of Matt Hooper' with an exclusive collection of signed merchandise from Jaws, all personally autographed by the Academy Award-winning actor. What's available? Signed photos, movie posters, t-shirts, hoodies, and Matt Hooper Oceanography Institute hats. There's even a shark jaw replica signed by the actor. Signed merch ranges in price from $95 to $495. Dreyfuss also shared a YouTube video that showed him autographing some of the exclusive merchandise, including a photo that was taken on the very first day of shooting the iconic film. 'Over the years, my signature has changed, gotten shorter and shorter because my name seems to have gotten longer,' the actor joked, adding, "I hope you find stuff you like. Talk to you later.' Dreyfuss wasn't always sure there would be so much Jaws fandom. In a 2021 interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, the actor admitted that he doubted the film would be a hit early on. 'Everyone thought that they had struck gold, and I said, 'What are you talking about, it's just a little movie,'' the Jaws star recalled in the interview. 'And so, when the film was released, I found myself going back to the talk shows and saying I'm the guy that didn't believe in it.' Jaws went on to become the first-ever summer movie blockbuster and spawned three sequels. Dreyfuss has since called the film 'one of the most powerful things that ever happened' to Dreyfuss Launches Exclusive Merch Line for 'Jaws' 50th Anniversary first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 20, 2025
