ACTOR Barry Keoghan has revealed he has spent the past three months in a 'Beatles bootcamp' ahead of playing Ringo Starr in a film series on the Fab Four.
The 32-year-old said he has been practising how the drummer walks, talks and plays to take on the role.

He expects to be working on the four films for 15 months — with co-stars Paul Mescal, Joseph Quinn and Harris Dickinson.
Barry said: 'We've been in full camp for like 16 or 17 weeks now.
"It's just an absolute joy. The camp is like bootcamp and it's a place where you have time and you try things.
'For Ringo, you get to approach the walk, the accent, play around with the face.

"It's a place of failing, a place of learning and trying. That's the process I'm in now. It's a playground for me.'
Barry, speaking at the Fastnet Film Festival near Cork, Ireland, added: 'The drumming is going great.
"I've been doing it for like six, seven months. I've got blisters on my hands now.'
He also met 84-year-old Ringo, saying: 'He gave me so much ammunition to go forward.
'I sat opposite him and I could not look at him because I was nervous and his wife Barbara was there and she said, 'You can look at him.'
'Every time I looked at him I saw myself in his glasses. I said to him: 'I am not coming here to quiz you. I am coming to find out what made you and how the contrast was going back to Liverpool after Beatlemania.'
Barry Keoghan hints he's reunited with girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter after dropping major clue at Paris Fashion Week
'We can all do imitation but I wanted to know where it came from. He was so on the money.
'My approach to The Beatles movie is entirely different to anything I have ever done.
'Being sober has now allowed me artistically to go down a constructive way and kind of bring back emotions and control. Rather than be erratic. There is a whole new approach to it.'
Director Sam Mendes helped pick Saltburn star Barry for the role, along with Normal People's Mescal as Paul McCartney, Stranger Things star Joseph as George Harrison, and up-and-coming actor Harris as John Lennon.
The biopics are expected to be released in 2028.

Oasis' best love tracks snubbed on the tour as fans react to setlist

After the first triumphant show in Cardif you can read the set list in full and see the songs missing from live tour The Oasis Live tour setlist is an epic collection of their biggest hits - but there are some great tracks missing too. Fans who weren't at Cardiff but are heading to see the band in Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin were also looking to see which songs had made the cut. ‌ They will see that the band, including frontman Liam Gallagher, played only songs from the Nineties, with nothing from their later albums. ‌ Amongst those missing which are popular amongst fans are Columbia, Lyla, Go Let It Out, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, The Importance Of Being Idle and the Beatles classic I Am The Walrus, which the band sometimes play as an encore. Commenting on the set list, Paul Johnson said on X: 'There's absolute bangers they left out.' Mick Went 57 said: 'Good but no Colombia? Def in their top 5 imo.' The actual set list was 23 songs long with many fan favourites including Slide Away, Supersonic, Whatever, Don't Look Back In Anger and Stand By Me. It was estimated more than 100,000 people travelled to Cardiff on Friday, with some hoping to get a last minute ticket or just to be there to celebrate in the pubs and bars as they parties late into the night with Oasis songs played on loop. Fans Lachlan Weekes and Jayden Helm, who spent more than a day travelling from Sydney, Australia, to attend the concert in the Welsh capital, were among fans gathering ahead of the gig. ‌ Mr Weekes said: "We've been planning it forever. We always said that if they got back together, we'd be at that first show." Mr Helm said: "We've been lifelong fans - we're 22 and 21, so haven't really had a chance to see them before. "We always said it was worth it to come, we wouldn't miss it for the world," he added. ‌ "To take time off work to come over here, it's more than worth it." The pair also visited Manchester, where the band formed in 1991, stopping off at Heaton Park as part of their personal Oasis tour. The brothers announced the Oasis Live '25 tour last August, starting with two dates in Cardiff on Friday and Saturday, before heading across the UK and Ireland. ‌ In the tour programme Noel reflected on playing with Oasis and his brother, saying: 'People will never forget the way you made them feel.' He also mused about why so many people of all ages tried to get tickets for the Oasis Live 25 tour. Noel said: 'A new generation recognises how Oasis wasn't manufactured. It was chaotic, and flawed, and not technically brilliant. We were rough and ready guys from a rehearsal room, and people recognised it.' ‌ The full set list from the opening show in Cardiff on Friday night was: Hello Acquiesce ‌ Morning Glory Some Might Say Bring It on Down ‌ Cigarettes & Alcohol Fade Away Supersonic ‌ Roll With It ‌ D'You Know What I Mean? Stand By Me ‌ Cast No Shadow Slide Away Whatever ‌ Live Forever Rock 'n' Roll Star Encore ‌ Wonderwall Champagne Supernova

Lewis Capaldi makes second concert comeback in a week joining chart-topping star as surprise guest

Lewis announced he would be heading out on tour again earlier this week back again Lewis Capaldi makes second concert comeback in a week joining chart-topping star as surprise guest Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LEWIS Capaldi made his second concert comeback in a week tonight as he joined a chart-topping star on stage as a special guest. The Someone You Loved singer played a surprise set at Glastonbury last weekend, his first gig in two years. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 3 Lewis returned to the stage for the first time for a surprise set at Glastonbury last weekend Credit: AFP 3 He joined Noah Kahan on stage at BST Hyde Park Festival on Friday night Credit: Getty Lewis, 28, had taken a break from his music career in 2023 to focus on his health, and was delighted and emotional in equal measure as he received a huge welcome from the Worthy Farm crowd. Following the gig - which saw him perform new track Survive - Lewis confirmed he is hitting the road on a brand new tour in September. But before that, he delighted fans on Friday night when he took to the stage at BST Hyde Park Festival alongside headliner Noah Kahan. American singer Noah, 28, put on a cracking show for the crowd before bringing Lewis on for the encore. The pair then performed Noah's hit 2022 single, Northern Attitude, together. The appearance comes after Lewis spoke out about his Glastonbury performance, which came two years after his final performance at the festival before stepping away from the spotlight. In a heart-warming video posted on his social media, he revealed his true feelings surrounding the burn-out. Speaking from the heart, he told fans: "One word to describe how I'm feeling now is... spectacular." Looking back over his Glastonbury experience in 2023, he admitted: "This should be like, a really happy moment, and it isn't. "I'm like, achieving my dream here. If there was a film about being a singer, and starting as a kid, and they'd be like, Oh, I'd love to be a singer one day and perform in front people, I've done it. Lewis Capaldi breaks silence on emotional Glastonbury return after taking a break from music "I've got to the end of the film and it's not how I thought it was going to be. "And all these people are singing at me and I feel 1,000 miles away there, and I watch it back and actually feel sad. "Second song in, I was probably just thinking, this has to be it, like... I can't keep doing this to myself. "As far as I was concerned, it was like, I'm done. I didn't take a break to just focus on getting better. "I took a break because I needed a break and to sort of release the pressure valve a little bit." Thank you so much for still being here." Lewis Capaldi Within the montage, Lewis added pictures and home-filmed clips of himself performing as a youngster, full of hopes and dreams. He captioned the tear-jerking montage: "Been mad looking back at it all. Thank you so much for still being here."
