Trump Orders Task Force for LA 2028 Olympics

Israa Farhan Former US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to establish a White House Olympic Task Force in preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Olympics. The task force will focus on federal coordination across security, infrastructure, transportation, and visa-related issues. According to a senior official, the team will include members from Trump's administration and various federal agencies. Their primary role will be to streamline efforts between the federal government, states, and local authorities in the lead-up to the Games. The order also aims to simplify visa and accreditation procedures for international athletes, coaches, officials, and media representatives, ensuring smoother entry and operations during the event. The Los Angeles Summer Olympics are scheduled for 2028, just three years away. Trump, who lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden, has expressed enthusiasm about potentially overseeing the Olympics during what he refers to as his second term. The event will follow another major sports milestone, the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the US is co-hosting. White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said Trump played a crucial role in securing LA's Olympic bid during his first term and considers it a major honour to support the global event if re-elected. Organisers of the LA28 Olympics released a preliminary schedule last month. The city, which previously hosted the Summer Olympics in 1932 and 1984, is preparing for what officials hope will be the most successful Games in history. Casey Wasserman, Chair of the LA28 Organising Committee, welcomed the announcement, saying the task force is a significant step forward in delivering not only the biggest but also the greatest Olympic Games the world has ever seen. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results

Rwanda to Accept up to 250 Deported Migrants Under US Deal

Israa Farhan Rwanda has agreed to accept up to 250 migrants deported from the United States, according to Rwandan government officials, marking a significant step in Washington's tougher immigration strategy under President Donald Trump. A Rwandan official confirmed to Reuters that the agreement was signed in Kigali in June, with the US already submitting an initial list of 10 individuals for review. Rwandan government spokesperson Yolande Makolo said the agreement reflects the country's long-standing values of reintegration and rehabilitation, noting that nearly every Rwandan family has experienced displacement. Under the deal, Rwanda reserves the right to accept or reject each individual proposed for resettlement. Those approved will receive workforce training, healthcare, and housing support to begin a new life in one of Africa's fastest-growing economies. While the US State Department and White House have not issued public comments, the Department of Homeland Security referred inquiries to the State Department. The Trump administration has intensified efforts to deport undocumented migrants and expand third-country relocation programs. In recent years, Washington has also deported individuals to countries such as South Sudan and Eswatini. According to Rwandan officials, the US will provide financial support in the form of a grant, though the exact amount has not been disclosed. The agreement also allows for future expansion beyond the initial 250 individuals, pending mutual consent. Those deported to Rwanda will not be required to stay and may leave at any time. The deal excludes individuals currently serving prison sentences or those facing criminal charges in the United States. Notably, no one convicted of sexual crimes against children will be accepted. Earlier this year, the US deported over 200 Venezuelans accused of gang involvement to El Salvador, where they were imprisoned and later released in a prisoner exchange. In June, the US Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to proceed with deportations to third countries without requiring a risk assessment. However, this policy is currently being challenged in a federal lawsuit filed in Boston. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
