neonatal care
by allowing mothers and their infants to stay together, thereby encouraging exclusive breastfeeding in a supportive medical environment.
A 24x7 advanced pathology laboratory was also launched at the hospital, strengthening further diagnostic services for RSMH and eight affiliated community health centres across Lucknow. The facility will enable ailing newborns and their mothers to receive care together. Pathak congratulated the medical staff and administration for this milestone.
Pathak announced the hospital's future roadmap, stating govt plans to develop RSM Hospital as a fully equipped healthcare centre. "All essential facilities will be made available here, ensuring accident victims and critical patients received complete treatment at the hospital. Director general of health was instructed to draft a proposal accordingly," Pathak said.
He also inaugurated a 24x7 pathology laboratory to not only cater to RSM Hospital but will also serve as a testing hub for eight other community health centres in Lucknow, including those in Bakshi Ka Talab, Itaunja, Aliganj, Gudamba, Mall, Malihabad, Kakori and the Jankipuram trauma centre.
CMS, RSM Hospital, Dr V K Sharma, shared details of the paediatric unit, comprising 44 beds, including facilities like MNCU (Mother and Newborn Care Unit), general paediatric ward and LMU (lactation management unit). The pathology lab is part of a "spoke and hub" model to streamline sample collection and testing around the clock. These facilities will enhance medical facilities around surrounding areas and blocks.
To ensure affordable access to medicines, Jan Aushadhi Kendra was also inaugurated by the Deputy CM during the event.

Dy CM reviews healthcareservices at CHC in city
Lucknow: Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak on Saturday visited the Kaiserbagh Community Health Centre (CHC) to review healthcare arrangements and take stock of the ongoing Ayushman Arogya Mela. During his visit, he reprimanded officials for keeping old iron equipment in the passage, which was hindering the movement of patients and attendants. He also expressed concern over a damaged water cooler installed in the gallery and instructed that it be replaced at the earliest. He enquired with patients about the quality of care and the behaviour of the medical staff. CHC superintendent Dr Ritesh Dwivedi said that the deputy CM inspected the Ayushman counter, where Golden Cards were being issued. He also reviewed immunisation services and sought updates on Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) programmes, Dwivedi said.

ACMO suspended on corruption allegations
Kanpur: Additional chief medical officer Dr Subodh Prakash was suspended on the directives of deputy CM and health minister Brajesh Pathak on Thursday following the allegations of corruption against him. The principal secretary executed the suspension. The process for departmental actions against chief pharmacist Avneesh Shukla and finance and accounts officer Vandana Singh has also been initiated for financial misconduct. CMO Dr Hari Dutt Nemi had previously reported these officials to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on June 17. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak on his official X handle stated that the ACMO of Kanpur Nagar has been suspended and departmental action has been initiated in connection with financial irregularities conducted for economic gain in collaboration with the Chief Pharmacist and Senior Finance and Accounts Officer. "Departmental action will also be taken against the chief pharmacist and the senior finance and accounts officer," he wrote further. Dr Subodh stands accused of position misuse, involving financial misconduct through supplier collusion. In Nov 2024, along with chief pharmacist Avneesh Kumar Shukla and senior finance and accounts officer Dr Vandana Singh, he allegedly participated in improper conduct. Research must for new tech in medicine: Pathak
Research is necessary for providing better and advanced treatment to patients, said deputy CM Brajesh Pathak at the 19th Foundation Day of the Centre of BioMedical Research (CBMR), on Wednesday. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak at the event in Lucknow on Wednesday (Sourced) Pathak said, 'New medicine, implants and technology are required and CBMR is playing a vital role in this. CBMR is being developed as a national translational research institute. To increase patents research and collaboration with international institutes should be given preference.' Pathak lauded the centre's role in advancing neuroimaging, biomarker discovery, drug discovery, molecular diagnostics, translational medicine, and its commitment to developing affordable healthcare solutions. Professor Alok Dhawan, director of CBMR, presented a detailed report highlighting the institute's achievements over the past year. He underlined the Centre's increasing focus on IPR generation, innovation ecosystems, and cross-disciplinary partnerships with both national and international institutions. He reiterated CBMR's mission to support affordable, accessible, and advanced healthcare solutions through sustained scientific inquiry and innovation. On the occasion, the 'CBMR Research Publication Award' was conferred to elevate and encourage the culture of high-impact scientific research among CBMR faculty members. As the guest of honour, professor Sanjeev Misra, vice-chancellor of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, felicitated six distinguished faculty members of CBMR with this prestigious award, acknowledging their contributions and achievements in biomedical research. During the function, memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed between the CBMR and four prestigious institutions—Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow; Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH), New Delhi; AIIMS – Rae Bareli and Amity University Lucknow Campus.
