The Oklahoma City Thunder are one win away from an NBA championship. That is all anyone is talking about. However, assuming they deliver on that title, they will quickly face a whole lot of other questions.

There is a really strong chance they should be expected to bring home that Larry O'Brien Trophy too. On top of having two opportunities to close the Indiana Pacers out, they may not even need to beat the best version of that team.
Shams Charania reported, "Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton is believed to have suffered a strained right calf and will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the strain, sources tell ESPN."
Haliburton will be, at the least, limited for Game 6. There should be a chance the Pacers star point guard does not play at all.
If the 2024-25 NBA season soon ends with the Thunder lifting the trophy, the next pivotal date is the NBA Draft. Oklahoma City will have some tough choices to make leading up to it.

The Thunder possess three picks in the 2025 NBA Draft. If Sam Presti picks up the team options on Jaylin Williams and Ajay Mitchell, the Thunder will have 15 rosters spots filled up for 2025-26.

One of the ways that they can work around this is a potential draft stash option. The latest ESPN mock draft had the Thunder selecting Real Madrid's Hugo Gonzalez at pick 24.
Jonathan Givony wrote, "Gonzalez could fit Oklahoma City's style of play with the impressive physical tools and frenetic energy he brings defensively, which has enabled him to carve out a strong role for Real Madrid in the Spanish Liga ACB playoffs recently."
The ESPN expert continued, "There's also the possibility a team could convince Gonzalez to be stashed for another year in Europe -- something that surely wouldn't be appealing to his camp at this stage -- but might be a necessity if the significant buyout in his contract doesn't get paid this offseason (it's an option Real Madrid would surely be open to, considering his impactful play)."
The Thunder would undoubtedly love a get out of jail free card with this situation. It may be a tough sell, as Givony pointed out, but a necessary one.

After ending his college career at Duquesne, Dahler was picked up with the 15th overall selection of the 1950 NBA draft by the (then) Philadelphia (now, Golden State) Warriors. The Rosemond, Illinois native would play the first season of his pro career with a team in another domestic league, then signed with the Dubs in 1951. His stay with the team would span a single season, his only in the NBA. During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Dahler wore only jersey No. 16 and put up 2.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. Brooklyn Nets jersey history No. 20 - Bill Jones (1989)
The Brooklyn Nets have 52 jersey numbers worn by over 600 different players over the course of their history since the franchise was founded in 1967 as a charter member of the American Basketball Association (ABA), when the team was known as the "New Jersey Americans". Since then, that league has been absorbed by the NBA with the team that would later become the New York Nets and New Jersey Nets before settling on the name by which they are known today, bringing their rich player and jersey history with them to the league of today. To commemorate the players who played for the Nets over the decades wearing those 52 different jersey numbers, Nets Wire is covering the entire history of the franchise's jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. The 21st of those 52 different numbers is jersey No. 20, which has has had a total of 28 players wear the number in the history of the team. The 11th of those players wearing No. 20 played in the (then) New Jersey (now, Brooklyn) Nets era, forward alum Bill Jones. After ending his college career at Iowa, Jones would go unselected in the 1988 NBA draft, playing in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA -- that era's version of the G League) for part of a season. The Detroit, Michigan native signed with New Jersey in 1989 for his sole campaign at the NBA level, playing in just 37 games.
