Martin Brundle tells Lewis Hamilton 'that's not true' in awkward exchange
All it took was one off-the-cuff comment from Lewis Hamilton to turn a Silverstone interview with Martin Brundle live on Sky Sports F1 into a very awkward exchange Martin Brundle was forced to stand up for himself when Lewis Hamilton took him by surprise. It happened during an interview at Silverstone which was broadcast live on Sky Sports F1 as the channel was previewing the British Grand Prix weekend. Hamilton is at his home race for the first time as a Ferrari driver and, while making that point, broadcasting legend and former F1 driver Brundle reminded the seven-time champion of that now iconic photograph of Hamilton wearing a dark suit and overcoat outside Enzo Ferrari's house at Maranello, released in January. Brundle said: "That image of you in the black coat in the square, the Schumacher square at Ferrari, one of the most iconic photographs ever in Formula 1." And Hamilton replied: "Thanks man. That means a lot coming from you – you don't have too many positive things always to say." The Ferrari racer smiled as he said it, but still that response clearly caught Brundle off-guard and, in the moment, he felt he had to defend himself, replying: "Well, that's not true." In his role as a pundit, Brundle has commented many times this year on Hamilton's struggles since making the move to Ferrari. He has yet to stand on a Grand Prix podium while wearing red this year and, at times, the 40-year-old has been very negative about his own performances. But Brundle has also been a key ally at stages of Hamilton's racing career, including when he was a youngster when the former F1 racer stepped in and helped Hamilton's father Anthony to navigate some challenging contract issues. As for Hamilton's current situation, things are starting to look up. A Ferrari car upgrade helped the Brit to feel more comfortable in the car last time out at the Austrian Grand Prix, where he was able to match his best result to date by finishing fourth. He brought the momentum he gained from that into his home race this weekend and started strongly on Friday, ending both practice sessions in the top three to raise hopes of another fairytale result at Silverstone where he has already won a record nine times in his F1 career. "It was a really good day. Great to see the crowd, amazing to be out on track in a Ferrari here at Silverstone," Hamilton said. "And also the Red Bull and McLaren have an upgrade, so for us to be in the mix still given they have had a step today is really positive. "Definitely feel we can dream of having a strong weekend but putting it all together and extracting it is another thing. But I will prepare myself the best I can to make sure we get the best result. Tomorrow and Sunday there is rain coming as well."

NI star Conor Bradley among mourners as Liverpool players arrive for funeral of Diogo Jota
Huge crowds are expected at the service in the footballer's hometown of Gondomar near Porto. The father of three, who had recently married his long-term partner Rute Cardoso, was killed alongside his brother Andre Silva after their car burst into flames following a suspected tyre blowout in the early hours of Thursday. Ms Cardoso was embraced by mourners outside the church. Other family members were visibly emotional as they arrived. Liverpool stars past and present, including captain Virgil van Dijk and Northern Ireland's Conor Bradley are also attending the service. The funeral, which begins at 10am, follows a wake held at the Capela da Ressurreicao yesterday. The brothers' parents attended the Sao Cosme Chapel, with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Prime Minister Luis Montenegro and Jota's agent also in attendance.. Also present were Liverpool executives and backroom staff, including CEO Billy Hogan, technical director Julian Ward - a former Larne player - and sporting director Richard Hughes. National team stars Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, João Moutinho, Diogo Dalot and Ricardo Horta also attended the wake. Queues formed outside the church as people held service sheets featuring pictures of both brothers, the largest one showing Jota smiling in his Liverpool shirt and making a heart sign with his hands. Liverpool has postponed the players' return for pre-season training following Jota's death. Manager Arne Slot said the 'sense of shock is absolute', adding: 'He was a loved one to all of us.' Jordan Henderson pays emotional tribute to Diogo Jota outside Anfield Jordan Henderson pays emotional tribute to Diogo Jota outside Anfield On Friday former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson looked visibly upset as he returned to Anfield with flowers and a club scarf. A sea of floral tributes has been left outside the ground. The club's Northern Ireland player Conor Bradley said Jota was "an incredible footballer but an even better person'. 'When I first moved up from the academy you were always there for me and always helped me settle in with the lads which I'll be forever grateful for,' he said. 'My thoughts are with your wife, children and family for losing both Diogo and Andre. I can't imagine how tough this is for you all, as I know how tough this feels for me today. 'Love you Jots, and I'm sure we will meet again.' In Belfast, Liverpool supporters gathered to lay flowers outside the club's city centre merchandise store. The store was closed on Friday as a mark of respect, with cards and flowers laid in his honour.

Oasis fans 'devastated' as iconic song left off setlist for first show in 16 years
Oasis fans 'devastated' as iconic song left off setlist for first show in 16 years Oasis played their first live show since 2009 on Friday (July 4) at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, but fans have expressed their disappointment at one song being snubbed Oasis fans missed one particular track from the setlist (Image:) Oasis reunited for the first time in 16 years on Friday (July 4) as they began their Live '25 tour at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. But following the gig, fans are all saying the same thing about one iconic song that was missing from the setlist. Liam and Noel Gallagher treated fans to 23 of Oasis' biggest hits as they took to the stage for the first time since their meteoric fallout in 2009, including heavy hitters like Cigarettes & Alcohol, Supersonic, Live Forever, and Wonderwall. However, with so many hits under their belts, there were bound to be songs that didn't make the cut - and some fans have said they're "devastated" about not hearing their favourite track. An Oasis fan named Maxi Gonzalez posted a picture of the setlist for the gig on X, and soon found herself inundated with hundreds of replies from other fans sharing their opinions on the running order. Several expressed disappointment at not hearing their personal favourites live, including Columbia, The Importance of Being Idle, and Don't Go Away, which did not make the final setlist. Article continues below One fan said: "Lyla would have been the biggest sing-along in history." Another added: "Take out Bring It On Down for Lyla and it's perfect." Content cannot be displayed without consent The band also chose not to include the 2002 single Stop Crying Your Heart Out, which has gone on to become one of Oasis' biggest songs worldwide. Other hits, including Songbird and She's Electric, were also missing. In fact, Oasis only played one song from their 2002 album Heathen Chemistry, which was Little By Little. Every other track came from their first three albums, Definitely Maybe, (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, and Be Here Now, or was a B-side released during the same era between 1994 and 1997. Many fans conceded that the band simply has "too many good songs" to be able to please everyone. While others said there's always a chance they choose to swap out some tracks on future tour dates, so the setlist may not stay the same. As well as talk about the setlist, Oasis fans all noticed the same thing about Liam and Noel's vocals during the night, as they proclaimed that the pair still 'sounded amazing'.
