Muharram processions: Punjab govt hailed for holding exemplary arrangements
The Shia religious scholars extended their heartfelt thanks and complete confidence in Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's supervision of the arrangements. A delegation from the Shia Ulema Council Punjab also presented the 'Imam Hussain Award' to Minister Azma Bokhari as a tribute to the outstanding administrative performance of the government during the holy month. Punjab Information Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani was also present on the occasion.
Azma Bokhari said, 'The satisfaction expressed by the organisers of majalis and processions is clear proof of the government's success. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz personally monitored the entire process, which is why Punjab stands out with exceptional arrangements for every religious occasion.'
She further stated, 'The expression of gratitude from the Shia community is a commendable tradition. The Chief Minister does not tolerate any negligence when it comes to public service, and her entire team, along with the provincial administration, remains actively engaged in the field.'
The visiting delegation included prominent figures such as Allama Kazim Raza Naqvi, Shabih Shirazi, Qasim Ali (Focal Person), Yousuf Johari, Hafiz Iqbal, Ilyas Yazdani, Sagheer Warraich, Kamran Naqvi, Asghar Hussain, Malik Nasir, Malik Shahid, Wajid Ali, Ammar Naqvi, and Safdar Jafri.

Lahore's limits: CM directs grand operation to protect passenger aircrafts
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to launch a grand operation to protect passenger aircrafts within Lahore's limits, and mobilized District Administration, Wildlife and Environment Protection Authority for the purpose. She directed the Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb to mobilize Punjab's first Wildlife Force, and decided to dismantle illegal slaughterhouses and poultry farms near airports. She also directed the relevant authorities to strictly implement laws and regulations for garbage disposal of bakeries near airports, and said, 'There will be a ban on doing any kind of business near airports that may create a risk of birds gathering.' In this regard; Punjab government has issued an order, which says, 'Poultry farms, bakeries and slaughterhouses established without environmental protection arrangements will be banned.' The notification added, 'Strict application of environmental regulations will be ensured for companies that manufacture leather and leather products, besides a ban on open skinning of animal hides. Moreover, there will be a complete ban on throwing garbage near airports, making the use of lidded garbage bins mandatory.' Wildlife Headquarters has also issued an order directing Wildlife Rangers to start operations immediately. The CM said, 'Lahore Eastern Bypass, Manawan Hospital Dahoriwala, PKLI, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Ichhra Lal, and Chah Miran areas have been declared 'No-Bird Zone,' operation will start from these areas. The notification of Punjab government says, 'All such reasons should be eliminated due to which flocks of birds gather near airports.' It adds, 'Grain on the roofs of houses, pigeon breeding, pigeon flying in large numbers, feeding of pigeons in temples and public places and excessive gathering of birds should be prevented.' The notification highlights, 'Wildlife Rangers, district administration and related agencies will take action as per Punjab Wildlife Act in case of violation.' The notification says, 'Bird collisions with aircraft during take-off, landing and low-altitude flight of aircraft cause accidents.' It points out, 'According to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), more than 90% of accidents occur at altitudes below 3,000 feet.' The notification emphasised, 'Punjab Wildlife Act should be strictly implemented, arrests, punishments and fines will be imposed for violations.' Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said, 'These measures are being taken to ensure safe air travel and safety of hundreds of human lives.' Chinese experts' report: Minister reviews finalisation of sectoral action plan
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad to review the implementation and finalisation of the sectoral action plan based on the Chinese experts' Report. The meeting was attended by Secretary Planning Awais Manzur Sumra, Vice Chancellor PIDE, Chief Economist, Project Director CPEC Secretariat, and senior officials from various ministries and divisions. The report shared by the Chinese Embassy was prepared by Chinese Working Teams following their visit to Pakistan to assess potential areas of enhanced economic cooperation. The report outlined key observations and recommendations in different sectors such as connectivity, the development of a national agricultural plan, Gwadar Port linkages, IT collaboration, and other strategic areas. Ministries were requested to review the report and provide feedback. In line with the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, 10 federal focal groups were constituted to develop sector-specific action plans in response to the technical assessments presented by the Chinese expert teams. Since then, the Ministry of Planning under the chairmanship of Minister Ahsan Iqbal has held multiple rounds of meetings to shape the final action plan and has consistently encouraged the ministries to align their inputs with Chinese recommendations and outline a clear path forward. During the meeting, all relevant ministries discussed the sectoral suggestions made by the Chinese teams and presented updates on their respective projects. Minister Ahsan Iqbal directed that each ministry must prepare a comprehensive response based on the Chinese Experts' Report so that the CPEC Secretariat can compile and submit a unified, detailed reply to the Chinese side. He also directed that China should be formally informed about the progress made by Pakistan on the recommendations, and efforts should be made to fully capitalize on the areas and projects for which China has already expressed willingness to cooperate. The meeting marks a significant step towards deepening Pakistan-China economic cooperation and ensuring that both sides move forward with a shared understanding and commitment to mutual development goals. Indian water aggression: National policy being formed: Ahsan
LAHORE: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Sunday that a comprehensive national policy is being formulated in consultation with all four provinces to counter Indian water aggression. He said this while inaugurating the newly established Engineers' Lounge at the Institution of Engineers Pakistan, here. Ahsan maintained that the proposed policy is aimed at effectively safeguarding Pakistan's water resources in the face of ongoing regional challenges. He also announced to establish a special technical committee comprising water experts and engineers to provide technically sound recommendations to address water disputes and related challenges. Highlighting the importance of engineering for national progress, Ahsan stressed the need for mobilising engineers as part of a national mission to address Pakistan's pressing challenges. Ahsan Iqbal further said that Pakistan's engineers were a valuable national asset, and their intelligence and hard work must be harnessed for the country's development agenda.
