'I tried cheapest full English in Benidorm and I was left stunned by what I was presented'

A British man who moved out to Benidorm, Spain, to live was over the moon to spot a budget-friendly full English breakfast for sale but he quickly changed his tune once he saw it
A British man was 'amazed' after trying the 'cheapest' full English breakfast available in Benidorm for less than £4. The Spanish municipality, based in the province of Alicante, is a firm favourite holiday destination for many British residents and Louis Grier is no exception.

In fact, the 32-year-old has made the sunny seaside hotspot his home. Recently, Louis was impressed after spotting the iconic full English breakfast on offer for the low price of £3.90. He regularly updates his 43.2K TikTok followers on his life in Benidorm, sharing his experiences and tips for those looking to holiday or move there for themselves.

In a recent video, which has so far pulled in more than 58K views, Louis ventured to Mariano's, a popular and well known restaurant in Benidorm, where he was keen to try the venue's take on the legendary full English breakfast.

Kicking the video off, he spoke directly to the camera and explained: 'Today, I am going to Mariano's to see what the English breakfast is like there.
'I've had the Spanish breakfast - it's not bad, it is a Spanish restaurant, after all - but I'm going to try the full English breakfast.
'They've got an offer on for €4.50 (£3.90). Mariano's is great for many things but I've never really had breakfast here, so let's try it.'

Unfortunately, the meal didn't live up to Louis's expectations. He showed his plate to the camera, revealing two pieces of Spanish toast with two fried eggs on top, one sausage, two mushrooms, a tomato, a hash brown and two rashers of bacon.
After tucking in, he explained he 'wasn't expecting much for €4.50' but declared the 'breakfast was absolutely awful', branding it one of 'the worst' he's 'ever had' in Benidorm.

He elaborated: 'I visited Mariano's, a renowned restaurant in Benidorm.
'It is celebrated for its exceptional chicken, considered by many to be the finest in Spain, and is also highly regarded as the best take away in Benidorm.

'Considering its popularity among both English and Spanish speakers, this establishment has consistently provided excellent food to British patrons for numerous years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed many wonderful takeaway meals.
'However, I regret to say that the breakfast was quite unappetising, and I was unable to eat it – it was that bad.'
Adding a little more detail as to why the breakfast was so poor in his opinion, he added: 'It tasted undercooked and of very low quality.

'I would maybe go back but only for its famous chicken.'
Louis's video racked up hundreds of comments, with people keen to share their thoughts.
One person said: 'That's all I've tried there. It's terrible, so I've never been back. The place is a dump.'

Another person said: 'Looked ok for the price', while a third agreed with this sentiment and said: 'What was wrong with it, everything looked fine, that's not a fair review'.
Someone else commented: 'Mariano's has gone right down hill to what it used to be'.
And another person said: 'I once had one from there, it was terrible', but someone else added: 'Still the best place for chicken. And their garlic bread is to die for!'

Spanish hotspot's brutal 2-word warning as Brits threatened with £648 fine

As part of its 'Improve Your Stay' campaign, a blunt warning to tourists has been plastered across on billboards and buses across a Spanish city - reminding Brits of a little-know rule One of Spain's most popular cities has unleashed a brutal clampdown on tourists this summer. Last year, the country's iconic Costa del Sol witnessed a record-breaking 14.47 million visitors - a 3.17 per cent spike compared to 2023. ‌ Many of these holidaymakers, particularly those from the UK, would have opted to stay in Málaga, a coastal city situated in the Andalusia region renowned for its golden beaches, stunning architecture, and nearby proximity to the steep, stomach-churning gorge of El Chorro. However, the city has updated a list of 10 strict rules tourists must follow, as part of its 'Improve Your Stay' campaign, which first launched in 2024. ‌ ‌ These demands have now been displayed on buses, billboards and across social media, and are reportedly designed to 'ease tensions between tourists and residents' amid the string of recent protests. According to EuroNews, the brutal warning at the top of the list of golden rules is simple: "Dress completely." Tourists are also being urged to 'not be conspicuous' and to keep the noise down, especially at night when they're in residential areas. ‌ The fresh warning comes after Málaga controversially upped its fines for unsociable tourist behaviour, including public drunkenness, excessive noise, and wearing inappropriate clothing in public. Flouting these rules now risks a hefty €750 (approximately £649.05). Of course, wearing a bikini or swimming shorts while you're kicking back at the beach or taking a dip in the hotel swimming pool is absolutely fine. However, if you're caught roaming the streets topless, or in your swimming costume, you could find yourself in trouble. ‌ The clampdown follows a barrage of complaints from locals over tourists trolling the city streets - many of which are home to religious sites - without being covered up. So even if you're sweltering in 40C heat, make sure you're dressed appropriately. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has long warned Brits about the country's strict clothing laws, which many Brits are completely unaware of. In fact, it has a section dedicated to Spain's 'dress code' rules under its 'Safety and Security' page. ‌ "In some parts of Spain it's illegal to be in the street wearing only a bikini or swimming shorts," the FCDO states. "Being bare-chested is also illegal in some areas in Spain. You could be fined if you're caught wearing swimwear on the seafront promenade or adjacent streets." It's a similar situation over in the tourist-riddled hotspot of Algarve in Portugal, which is planning to fine tourists up to £1,250 if they're caught wearing a bikini, trikini, swimsuit and similar forms of swimwear outside of 'exempted areas'. These include seafront car parks, hotels, beaches, beach access points and swimming pools.

Passenger discovers mobile phone flight hack but people spot one major problem

A Tiktokker revealed 'old school' travel item can be your solution for a quick flight hack; which saves you from cramps but Tiktok viewers seem to have their own thoughts on the hack We've all been there - you're on a flight, you want to watch something on your phone, but there's nowhere to put it without either cramping your neck or holding it for hours. But one Tiktokker @Chlowfaraway has revealed a simple travel hack, which solves the issue. ‌ While the hack drew many views in, viewers were quick to point out a glaring issue. In the viral clip a passenger is seen slipping their printed boarding pass into the latch of the seat-back tray table. This creates a makeshift holder where you can rest your phone for hands-free viewing and the hack racked up over a half a million likes and plenty of praise for the awkward mid-air juggle. ‌ ‌ But while the idea was clever, many in the comments section weren't impressed and not because of the hack itself. Instead, people were surprised that the passenger even had a printed boarding pass to begin with. One viewer said: "Who prints their boarding passes? Jesus." Another chimed in: "Travel hack: you can get your ticket on your phone since like 10 years ago." ‌ But not everyone had this mindset and defended the old-school approach, with one saying: "I love the physical ticket! Y'all are so weird acting like it's so outdated bc it's just a different option lol." And some simply pointed out that flying in certain countries or on international trips often still requires a paper pass, whether we like it or not. Either way, the trick sparked debate about whether printed tickets are a thing of the past - but if you do still carry one, it looks like it can come in handy for more than just getting on the plane.

FKA Twigs agrees to settle lawsuit alleging abuse from Shia LaBeouf

A lawyer for FKA Twigs, whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett, filed a request in Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss her case against the 39-year-old American actor with prejudice, meaning it can't be filed again. A joint statement said: 'Committed to forging a constructive path forward, we have agreed to settle our case out of court. While the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.' First filed in 2020, the case had several trial dates scheduled in the years since, but those were always delayed well in advance. The two met and became a couple in 2018 after 37-year-old English singer and actor Barnett was cast in a supporting role in Honey Boy, an autobiographical film about LaBeouf's upbringing as a child actor. After an early 'charm offensive' from LaBeouf, the relationship became a 'living nightmare', her lawsuit said. She said LaBeouf put her in a constant state of fear and humiliation, once slammed her into a car, tried to strangle her and knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease. She said he also isolated her from family and friends, demanded absolute fealty and was angrily jealous of everyone from waiters she'd been polite with to her ex-fiance Robert Pattinson. She said that her experience was part of a pattern for LaBeouf. 'Shia LaBeouf hurts women,' the suit said. 'He uses them. He abuses them, both physically and mentally. He is dangerous.' LaBeouf said in a statement just after the lawsuit was filed that he had been 'abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I'm ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt'. But he denied the accusations in the lawsuit in a 2021 filing, saying any injuries done or damages incurred by Barnett were not his doing. LaBeouf is best known for his roles in 2007′s Transformers and in 2008′s Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. He also starred in the 2019 film The Peanut Butter Falcon and in last year's Megalopolis. Known for her genre-bending musical styles, FKA Twigs worked as a backup dancer for other artists before releasing her studio debut, LP1, in 2014. She followed it with 2019's Magdalene and Eusexua from earlier this year. As an actor, she appeared in 2024's The Crow.
