Iowa women's basketball offers standout 2026 Georgia PG Leah DeWitt
The 5-foot-8 native of Marietta, GA, stars for Marietta High School and plays club for AEBL Girlz. While it is a bit too early for most recruiting sites to ranks the 2028 recruiting class, Prep Girls Hoops ranks DeWitt as both the No. 2 recruit and point guard in the state.
In her first season on Marietta's varsity squad, DeWitt averaged 25.4 points on 52% shooting from the field, 35% from 3-point territory, and 80% from the free-throw line in 29 games, according to MaxPreps. In addition to her high scoring numbers, DeWitt averages 6.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
Along with Iowa, DeWitt holds offers from numberous premier programs such as Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, and Oklahoma.
While DeWitt will crtainly get more offers as he recruitment continues, new Iowa assistant coach Lasondra Barrett could be a secret weapon in DeWitt's recruitment due to her familiarity with the state. In the same notion, Barrett will be a valuable asset to the Hawkeyes throughout Georgia as well. Barrett joined the Hawkeyes' staff this offseason after three years as an assistant coach for Georgia Tech.

Previewing the 2025 season for Texas A&M WR Terry Bussey with his player profile
As we gear up for the 2025 football season, Aggies Wire is breaking down every player on the Texas A&M roster. Throughout the preseason, each profile will highlight a player's background, their recruiting rankings upon graduating from high school, and their projected role under head coach Mike Elko. Terry Bussey entered the 2024 season surrounded by hype—hype that new head coach Mike Elko rightfully tried to temper at every opportunity when asked about the true freshman's role. Fans speculated wildly: some wanted him on offense, others on defense, and a few believed he could play both sides of the ball. Ultimately, he landed on offense and special teams. His freshman season was hard to evaluate for several reasons. He arrived later than most of his class, didn't have a set position until later in the year, and had to navigate a new coaching staff establishing a new culture. Despite a low usage rate, Bussey showed flashes of potential, though it was a modest start to his career. In total, he recorded 49 touches for 572 yards and two touchdowns. Preseason Player Profile Recruiting Rankings (Class of 2024) The former five-star prospect was one of the most sought-after recruits in the nation. When Jimbo Fisher was fired during the 2023 season, several programs made a push, but Bussey stayed firm in his commitment and chose to remain with Coach Elko. In high school, he was a three-time Class 2A MVP and earned Mr. Texas Football honors from Dave Campbell's Texas Football in 2022. Despite missing several games during his senior season, he led Timpson High School to its first-ever state championship. Depth Chart Outlook Bussey's situation is unique. Last year, he filled a positionless offensive role. Coach Elko has now confirmed that Bussey's official position will be wide receiver, although his versatility means he'll be moved around—similar to how Deebo Samuel is used. Even if he's not listed as a starter, expect him to see plenty of touches during the 2025 season. UNC class of 2026 quarterback commit adds fourth star on 247Sports
Will Travis Burgess earning the starting job during Year One at UNC? The North Carolina Tar Heels are quietly building one of the top 2026 recruiting classes across college football – and continue adding talent seemingly every day. UNC's 2026 class is highlighted by four separate 4-star recruits: in-state edge rusher Zavion Griffin-Haynes, defensive tackle Trashawn Ruffin, safety Jamarrion Gordon and quarterback Travis Burgess. North Carolina has 20+ recruits in its next class, which should continue growing, particularly if there's on-field success in Chapel Hill this fall. Burgess, who plays at Grayson High School in Loganville (Ga.), will join a 2026 Tar Heels quarterback room that includes 2025 signee Bryce Baker and South Alabama transfer Gio Lopez. As Burgess prepares to play his final football season before arriving at UNC, he recently gained some good news, earning a fourth star on his 247Sports recruiting profile. Burgess is currently the 16th-ranked quarterback nationally – and the 27th-ranked player overall in Georgia. 247Sports called Burgess, who wowed at the Elite 11 finals, "One of the most impressive players in Los Angeles – and (he) was constantly able to turn heads with his ball placement." As mentioned previously, Burgess will join Baker and Lopez in North Carolina's 2026 QB room. Baker is a freshman – and there's a strong likelihood he stays in Chapel Hill for Year Two, given the fact he gave the Tar Heels one of their earliest, class of 2025 commitments. Lopez will enter his redshirt sophomore season this fall, competing with Baker and Johnson for the starting job. If Lopez wins the starting gig and plays well during his first year as a Tar Heel, he should return in 2026. Burgess is a major recruiting victory for UNC, choosing it over the likes of more successful programs in Wisconsin and Auburn. Can Burgess be the next great North Carolina quarterback? Steelers countdown to kickoff — No. 67: a history of the number and who wore it best
The Steelers countdown to kickoff is here — and we're at 67 days until Pittsburgh faces off against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. In the spirit of the countdown, we're taking a look at the history of No. 67 and the players who wore it best. Current Steelers No. 67 wearer: OT Calvin Anderson After spending three seasons with the Broncos and one with the Patriots, Anderson signed with the Steelers in September 2024 as much-needed depth in Pittsburgh. He would appear in only four games for the Steelers but signed a two-year extension this past April. Anderson is arguably Pittsburgh's top backup offensive tackle but could be pushed this upcoming training camp by rookie OT Gareth Warren and OT Dylan Cook. Last five Steelers to wear No. 67: Best No. 67 in Steelers history: DT/NT Gary Dunn When it comes to No. 67, no Steeler wore it better than Dunn. Selected by Pittsburgh with the 159th overall pick in the sixth round of the 1976 NFL Draft, Dunn became a two-time Super Bowl champion and served a pivotal role along the Steel Curtain defense. He played in Pittsburgh from 1976 to 1987 and was named second-team All-Pro (NEA) in 1984. Dunn's consistency, relentless work ethic, and championship pedigree earn him the rightful title as the Steeler best to wear No. 67.
