Shiv Sena (UBT)-MNS alliance not sealed yet, Raj must clear air: Sanjay Raut
Raj Thackeray
and Sena (UBT) chief
Uddhav Thackeray
came together against imposition of Hindi, their political alliance was not sealed yet.
Raut said it was necessary for this alliance to forge, and now there should be no confusion.
Raut also said that one day, Raj would come forward and clear the air on his high tea meetings with Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde. Raut made the comments in his weekly column in Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamna.
Political analysts said through his column, Raut was cautioning Raj that he must stay true to the Thackeray reunion and announce a formal alliance without allowing confusion to creep in.
"Raut is also pressing for a formal alliance between the two cousins and telling Raj that the slow response from him was creating confusion among people. Raut is also recalling that so far, tangoing with the BJP and Shinde resulted in a drubbing for the MNS, and its political fortunes are now at rock bottom. In the future, Raj must avoid any temptation to flirt with BJP or Shinde given his previous track record. Raut's comments serve as a note of caution and also a reminder that the reunion will require Raj's full commitment for it to sustain," a political observer said.

"Although the two Thackerays' coming together has created confidence among the Marathi people, it does not mean that all the problems of Maharashtra and the Marathi people have been resolved immediately. Both the Thackerays came together against Hindi compulsion, but their political alliance has not been announced yet. This alliance is necessary; only then will Maharashtra get a new direction. The current rulers of Delhi and Maharashtra are shaken by the way the storm of Marathi unity has been created in the state.
They will try to prevent this alliance from happening," Raut wrote in his column.
"Shinde and Fadnavis go to Raj Thackeray's residence for tea, and Raj Thackeray welcomes them. Shinde's position in Maharashtra politics is like that of a mercenary. Fadnavis heats up the political air by meeting Raj Thackeray. Since Shinde is deflated now, his meetings with Raj Thackeray are short-lived, and it doesn't seem like the current Marathi unity will end because of these two.
One day Raj Thackeray himself will come forward and speak on all this and clear up the confusion," Raut said.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray is likely to spell out his plan for an alliance with the MNS for the upcoming BMC and other local body polls in an interview with Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut in party mouthpiece Saamna this weekend. It will be a two-part interview. Sena (UBT) functionaries said Uddhav will reveal the status of talks with the MNS chief and the roadmap for the alliance. Uddhav will also take on the Mahayuti govt on Hindi imposition, the Special Public Security Bill, and farmers' suicides in the state.

Dill Mill Gayye fame Pankit Thakker addresses ongoing Hindi-Marathi language row; says, "It's time for us to take a step back"
Over the past few days, Maharashtra has seen growing debate around the use of Hindi-Marathi language. Actor Pankit Thakker, who currently plays Chandru in the TV show Saru, was asked for his thoughts on the issue. Choosing to stay away from the controversy, Pankit politely declined to comment, saying he didn't want to add fuel to the fire. Instead, he emphasized the importance of setting aside differences and coming together for the growth and progress of Maharashtra. He shared, 'We live in a beautiful country where our diverse cultures and languages are a strength, not a weakness. It's important that we celebrate unity and brotherhood. I have no desire to add to any controversy, but I will say that the recent tensions over the Hindi-Marathi language issue in Maharashtra have led to heated debates and, sadly, even violence. As someone who calls this great state home, I'm genuinely concerned about the growing divide that's putting our social harmony at risk. This is the time to pause, reflect on our shared values, and come together to find a path that uplifts and includes everyone.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it legal? Andhra Deputy Chief Minister defends Hindi as 'unifying language', sparks debate
On Super 6, the focus is on the language debate sparked by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's defence of Hindi. Kalyan urged people not to feel ashamed of speaking Hindi, referring to it as 'Peddamma' (elder aunt) and a unifying language. This stance has drawn criticism from some southern politicians who argue against Hindi imposition. The program explores various perspectives on the role of Hindi vis-à-vis regional languages and English in India's linguistic landscape. The transcript covers a debate on the imposition of Hindi in non-Hindi speaking states. Panellists discussed the pros and cons of promoting Hindi as a unifying language, with some arguing for its utility and others opposing any form of language imposition. The discussion also touches on the politicisation of language issues. Additionally, the transcript mentions a row between Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and the Centre over an invitation to a bridge inauguration event, as well as updates on Nipah virus cases in Kerala.

Rahul voices concern over law & order, attacks govt
Patna: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Bihar govt, claiming the state has turned into India's "crime capital" under CM Nitish Kumar 's leadership. His remarks came amid growing concerns over a spike in violent crimes across the state. Posting on social media platform X, Gandhi cited media reports highlighting 31 murders in just 11 days and alleged the rise of a "contract killing industry" in Bihar. His post, written in Hindi, painted a grim picture of the state's current situation: "Fear lurks in every alley, unease pervades every home while unemployed youth are being transformed into killers." He did not hold back in his criticism of both the CM and the BJP. Gandhi alleged that Nitish was more focused on preserving his power than addressing the state's law and order crisis. "The CM is busy protecting his chair and BJP ministers are busy collecting commission," he claimed. The Congress MP argued that the upcoming assembly elections were not just about political change but about saving Bihar from a dangerous descent into lawlessness. "This election is not just about changing the government. It is about saving Bihar," he wrote. His remarks gained traction following the murder of prominent businessman Gopal Khemka, who was shot dead outside his Patna home on July 4. Khemka's son had also been murdered seven years earlier in Hajipur. The incident has become emblematic of what opposition leaders describe as a breakdown in public safety. Gandhi's comments reflect a rising chorus of concern over Bihar's security situation. Opposition parties say the combination of soaring crime rates and "administrative inaction" has created a climate of fear with residents feeling vulnerable.
