The retailer has released new cosy homeware pieces for autumn including wreaths, garlands and throws
The 'burr' season is almost upon us - think pumpkin-themed drinks and candles, cosy throws, and cinnamon-baked sweet treats. Despite it being the beginning of August, Dunelm has released the first drop of its autumn decor and homeware collection.
There are many newly released items for cosy customers to shop, from comfy throws to burnt orange-hued wreaths and garlands. One of the stand-out pieces include a Chunky Chenille Throw, priced at £40.
Ideal for using when curled up in front of the telly, the ribbed blanket has tassled edges. The sandstone coloured throw is made from a 'soft and fizzy' polyester material, it also comes in peacock, green and red colourways.
The throw has more than 30 customer reviews, with one purchaser describing it as 'lovely' and 'soft'. They added: "Nice colour. Very reasonable price. My cat likes it too!"
Another buyer was disappointed with the material, writing: "Very soft, but (the) colour (is) different to the picture. I was looking for a tassle throw in a different material."
An additional buyer said: "I bought this beautiful chenille throw in forest green to add a statement colour to my bedroom. It looks amazing against my cream bedspread. The quality is fab."
There's also a selection of pumpkin garlands to choose from, including this brown and gold garland and wreath bundle for £40. Each piece is adorned with gold pumpkins, oversized pine cones, faux pampas, brown and orange autumnal foliage, and cream berries.
Another option is this Artificial Autumnal Light Up Wreath priced at £50, or this Green & Orange Pumpkin Garland on offer for £30. For decor fans looking to go the extra mile, there's even a pumpkin velvet footstool (£39).
Elsewhere, Next has also started releasing its homeware autumn range with plenty of suitably cosy-themed goodies for shoppers. Stand-out items include this Light Up Autumnal Pumpkin Garland for £30, there's also a matching wreath offered for £36.
Over at Amazon, shoppers can find savings on Yankee Candles, including this large Spiced Orange jar for £24.70, down from £29.99. With a burn time of up to 150 hours, the scent features notes of citrus and fiery ginger.
For general reviews on Dunelm, shoppers can turn to Trustpilot, which has more than 60,000 comments and ratings, with plenty of mentions of the retailer's homeware and decor. One user praised Dunelm's 'easy to navigate' website, adding: "Quality products and excellent customer service a definite recommend and a definite go to website and store for home decor."
Someone else bought some autumn-themed wall art but wasn't pleased, writing: "I'm a regular customer of Dunelm and normally happy with the items I buy, but I was a bit disappointed with the wall art I purchased, 'A Touch Of Autumn'.
"In my opinion, it is not worth the price I paid of £85. It looked nice when I saw it online, but in reality, it is very low quality. I decided to keep it, but on reflection, I will probably replace it soon."
Another new-in-autumn piece worth highlighting is this Halloween bedding. The 'Creepy Town'-themed patchwork print set is priced at £15 - £32 and is available in single, double, king, and super king sizes.

Amazon Prime's 'absolutely awful' sci-fi remake crashes out with 0% RT score

Amazon Prime Video's adaptation of War of the Worlds has been universally panned as fans declare 'watching paint dry is more exciting'. Based on the 1898 H.G. Wells sci-fi novel, the new remake has quickly climbed the Prime Video charts, landing at number three in the UK, but the reviews tell a very different story. The synopsis reads: 'A gargantuan invasion is coming with this fresh take on the legendary novel of the same name. 'Renowned actress Eva Longoria is joined by iconic rapper and actor Ice Cube, along with Michael O'Neill and Iman Benson, for a thrilling out-of-this-world adventure that is filled with present-day themes of technology, surveillance, and privacy.' Just a week after it landed on the streamer, however, it has secured a shockingly rare 0% Rotten Tomatoes critics score, with the audience score not far behind on 13%. The Daily Telegraph called it a 'silly and shoddy' movie while Variety accused it of being a 'feature-length commercial for all things Amazon'. The main thrust of the movie appears to feature Ice Cube sitting at a computer screen, which doesn't make for particularly scintillating viewing, despite an alien threat brewing in the background. It is a feeling echoed by fans across the board. 'I am traumatised. Not because of how graphic it is, but how awful it is. It feels like a 10 year old had a fever dream and decided to write the story at the top of their head,' ExxtraZY wrote on RT. 'The butchered one of the greatest sci-fi stories mankind has ever told. Just horrible. Bad writing,' Maxwell J agreed. This movie could either be considered a glorified Amazon Ad or a really, really, really bad movie,' William I criticised. 'Stayed 20 minutes longer than I should have because of Ice Cube. But even he couldn't save this disaster of an adaptation,' Lesley J reflected. Over on X, Graham Mansfield wrote: 'This new War of the Worlds movie might be the worst movie I have seen in years.' 'The new War Of The Worlds movie was so bad, I had to watch it completely,' Alexander Spielvogel echoed. It wasn't all bad, with some coming to the defence of the movie. 'Ok so I am gonna buck the system here. I truly enjoyed WAR OF THE WORLDS. I thought Ice Cube was great – loved the entire cast. Eva Longoria – great. Loved the kids. What is the problem here??' Susan E questioned. 'I felt the story was strong enough to suspend belief. I didn't care too much about the special effects, I cared about are the kids going to be OK and how this story is different from the many other renditions I have seen,' Hal H echoed. More Trending War of the Worlds has been adapted before in various formats, including the 2005 movie starring Tom Cruise, which has a 76% critics score (although it trails behind at 42% with audiences). Of course, there is also the musical album adaptation from Jeff Wayne in rock opera style. War Of The Worlds is streaming on Amazon Prime Video now. Got a story? This Is The Enormous Blouse Trend We Never Saw Coming

Stepping out in a hot and humid New York, style icon Tracee Ellis Ross, expertly dressed by long-term collaborator Karla Welch, delivered a masterclass in the art of BBD (that's big blousy dressing). Opting for a billowing blouse by Jacquemus and equally voluminous skirt in matching deckchair stripes, it was a lesson in how to keep cool while looking perfectly put-together. And so, as we enter the muggy depths of August, consider BBD the blueprint for your next summer ensemble. The key to nailing the trend? It's all in the fit. Think flowing hemlines, supersized sleeves and plenty of volume. You may think sleeves don't scream summertime, but they're actually the season's unsung hero, saving you from singed shoulders while ensuring you're office appropriate. Choose generous balloons, draped batwings or raglan shoulders that'll allow plenty of room for a welcome breeze. Next up is fabric choice. To truly embody BBD is to appear effortless, nonchalant even, so think linen blends or lightweight cottons for optimum 'throw on and go' effect. Rejina Pyo's ankle-grazing bubble hem skirt in the perfect shade of buttery yellow ticks all the BBD boxes, while Ganni's beige midi dress comes with extra-spacious sleeves and silver hardware that'll take your outfit up a notch. On the high street, Next's 100% linen balloon sleeve blouse will be your warm-weather wardrobe hero right up until autumn. Keep your hair sleek, à la Ross's slicked back bun (the ideal 'do for muggy days and sticky commutes) and accessories minimal to avoid going too 'art teacher'; low-key flip-flops will do, switched out for simple pumps and statement studs when the evening arrives. So, there you have it, an easy-breezy summer dressing solution – without a sweat patch in sight. 1. Acne Studios, Asymmetric Draped Striped Voile Shirt Dress 2. Next, Ecru Cream 100% Linen Long Sleeve Boho Top 3. Rejina Pyo, Flora skirt 4. Massimo Dutti, Flowing Satin Kimono Dress 5. Film adaptation receives 0% Rotten Tomatoes score

Ice Cube 's film adaptation of War of the Worlds has received a devastating 0 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes following negative reviews from critics. The science fiction thriller, a modern spin on HG Wells' 1898 novel, stars Ice Cube and Eva Longoria and was released last week on Amazon Prime Video. Critics, including Peter Debruge of Variety, described the film as a 'feature-length commercial for all things Amazon' due to its extensive product placement. The movie has been widely criticised for its flat performances, uninspired direction, and a lack of narrative depth by both critics and audiences. Despite the overwhelmingly negative reception, the film is currently the most-watched movie globally on Amazon Prime Video, according to FlixPatrol.
