Woman injured in hit-and-run crash as ICE protestors moved through downtown
According to Chicago police, the crash unfolded around 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of East Monroe Street amid a large anti-ICE protest.

Officers said the victim, a 66-year-old woman, was standing in the roadway when she was struck by an unknown vehicle.
The woman suffered a broken arm and was taken to the hospital, where she was treated and released.
While police have not specifically confirmed that the crash unfolded during the protest, WGN-TV's cameras were rolling on the scene when a car narrowly missed protesters gathered in the area.

A WGN-TV employee said he saw the car parked first on State and Monroe, adding that the driver appeared to be taunting officers with a can of spray paint before she got in the car and drove through the protest.
No other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made.
An investigation into the crash is now underway.

Police seeking security footage after rash of arsons near Irving Park
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police are asking for help to identify the suspect in multiple arsons near Irving Park over the last week. Portland police are asking anyone living near Irving Park to review their security camera footage from July 20 and July 27, as they may have video footage of an arson suspect. The first arsons happened on July 20 and included a shed in the 700 block of Northeast Fremont Street, a trailer parked in the 3100 block of Northeast 8th Street, and a garage door in the 3600 block of Northeast 7th Street. On July 27, police said that several more arsons happened, including a fire that damaged a fence and shed in the 3900 block of Northeast Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and one that damaged a vehicle in the 3800 block of Northeast 6th Avenue. Authorities said they are focusing on the area between North Williams Avenue and Northeast 15th Avenue and between Northeast Stanton Street and Northeast Shaver Street. Police are asking any residents living in that area with security footage between the hours of 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. on July 20 and between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. on July 27 to share the unedited footage with them online. Illegal immigrant facing attempted murder charges for stabbing victim multiple times at soccer game
FIRST ON FOX - An illegal immigrant from Honduras with a criminal history was recently arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a person three times during a public soccer game in Alabama. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed to Fox News Digital on Friday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged an immigration detainer against 20-year-old Javier Lopez Tinoco, who is charged with attempted murder following a brutal stabbing attack in Baldwin County, Alabama. The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office arrested Tinoco on July 19 after he allegedly stabbed a victim three times during a public soccer game in Summerdale, according to DHS. After the attack, he allegedly fled the scene. The victim's current condition is unknown. Police were able to track Tinoco down on July 29, and when he was arrested, authorities said he had four small bags of cocaine with him. Following the arrest, ICE immediately filed an arrest detainer to prevent Tinoco's release and ensure he remains in custody pending criminal and removal proceedings. The stabbing incident was not Tinoco's first run in with the law. He was arrested by police in 2024 for public intoxication, DHS confirmed. "A man was nearly KILLED because this Honduran illegal alien decided to go on a stabbing spree. These are the type of criminal illegal aliens ICE is working to get off our streets and out of our country," said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. "ICE lodged a detainer to ensure this criminal will never be loose in American neighborhoods again," McLaughlin added. "President [Donald] Trump and Secretary [Kristi] Noem will continue to put the safety of Americans FIRST."
