Cardi B Embraces Sculptural Shoulders and Fringe Pearls for Schiaparelli Fall 2025 Couture Show in Paris

Yahoo9 hours ago
Cardi B joined celebrity and high-profile attendees for Schiaparelli's fall 2025 couture show during Paris Couture Week on Monday. The Grammy Award-winning rapper opted for sculptural attire, wholly evocative of the couture stylings of the Italian luxury fashion house.
The 'Money' rapper's look featured a slimming black dress with a rounded plunging neckline, courtesy of Schiaparelli's spring 2024 couture collection. Atop the bodice of the ensemble, Cardi B's look featured exaggerated shoulders with an elongated construction and a framed silhouette with strings of pearls in a fringe style all over the sculpted piece.

As for accessories, Cardi opted to go minimal, save for a pair of pearl statement earrings in a teardrop style that complemented the cascading strings of pearls as part of her sculptural ensemble.
When it came to Cardi's glam, the rapper went old school. Her hair was styled in a blunt bob with a sinuous side part reminiscent of the aesthetic popularized during the 'roaring' 1920s. Her makeup included standout elements like bold brows, dramatically lined eyes and a glossy lip.
Cardi posed for photos with a live raven on the steps of the Petit Palais ahead of the show. WWD caught up with the rapper at the show, inquiring about her feelings when posing with the raven. 'I'm not scared of the bird,' the rapper told WWD's Joelle Diderich. 'That's my friend! I control him; we're best friends,' Cardi said.

The rapper has a long-standing relationship with Schiaparelli and previously attended the haute couture show in 2023. For the 2023 edition of the haute couture collection show, Cardi wore a similarly extravagant ensemble.
Channeling creative director Daniel Roseberry's animal-inspired 2023 collection, Cardi wore a cape covered in wool tendrils, which gave the illusion of black feathers. Upon removing the cape, the rapper revealed a sleek, strapless black dress with gold trim at the neckline and lace-up gold corsetry elements at the back.

5 Bob Haircut Trends Everyone Is Asking For This Summer

courtesy of spoke and weal NY Here's the thing about a good haircut: It only takes one photo to spark inspiration. If you're feeling a little lost this summer, we're here to help. Bob haircuts are particularly fun because if you've been a Refinery29 reader for a while you know, we appreciate the often imperceptible but critical details that make an Italian bob different from a French bob (the former is more cropped to the ears, and the latter is often structural and includes a bang). Here, we're breaking down the top bob trends of the moment — for summer 2025 — in hopes that they might inspire your next appointment. Find our predictions with imagery for you to save and expert styling advice, ahead. Carved bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by Spoke & Weal (@spokeandweal) The technique used to create a carved bob gives the hair a very lived-in look, "similar to when you cut hair using a razor," explains hairstylist Amanda Lee. The cut, which is purposefully grown-out with tapered ends, was popular in 2018 and 2019 and is seeing a resurgence. "It's a creative cut based on removing weight and creating layers that provide lift and movement into the hair," explains hairstylist Cassadi Currier. Flipped bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lindsey Neavitt (@lindseyneavitt901) Many stylists track the origins of the flipped bob back to the '60s. "It had a very retro feel," explains Lee. "Jackie Kennedy is the first name to come to mind when I think of the flipped bob." There's an innate elegance to this style but it's pretty versatile. The current variation is cut short, maybe slightly asymmetrical, and has some polish. For styling, Lee recommends using a hot brush (like the Mane Medium Hot Brush, $98) to give your hair a good flip on the ends and a smoothing balm (she prefers the Emi Jay Angelstick, $38) to polish any flyaways. Fluffy bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by DECEMBER FULLY BOOKED (@hairbyanaiss) A fluffy or "soft-sweeping layered bob" is a modern favorite among stylists. "It's one of my favorite types of bob haircuts," says Currier, "and I love that most of them have a deep-set side part." Lee considers the fluffy bob a modern version of a classic cut. "The fluffy bob is really just a modern take on the classic bob shape, giving it more volume and movement," she says. To style, she recommends a big round brush, a round brush blow dryer, or a round brush attachment (if you're using a Dyson). Japanese bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by 菊池 洵 / 美容師 (@jun__kikuchi) "The Japanese bob is also a chin-length bob that really hugs the curvature of the face," says Currier. "This bob is usually parted in the middle and has gorgeous sweeping layers that go away from the face with blunt ends." The name comes from the country of origin and inspiration. In Japanese hair salons, this is just a short bob. For styling a Japanese bob, Currier recommends using a flat iron and "beveling" sections, curving the hair under. But for the pieces around the face, "you're going to want to direct the flat iron forward in the opposite direction and sweep backward towards the ear to give a bit of a curved, sweeping look to the fringe," she explains. Bitchy bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jenna Perry Hair Studio (@jennaperryhairstudio) This bob is fun. It's polished, one-length, and hits right at the corners of the mouth. It has some high-fashion edge and attitude, which is likely why hairstylist Jordan Luger at Jenna Perry Salon in NYC calls it the "bitchy bob." If you're thinking of inching up this summer, this is a charming way to go about it.

'Harry Potter' star Jason Isaacs slams 'racist' criticism of series star Paapa Essiedu

Jason Isaacs isn't here for all the muggle back talk. The "Harry Potter" alum, who played Lucius Malfoy in the wizarding drama franchise, weighed in on the controversy surrounding Paapa Essiedu's casting in the upcoming HBO series adaptation of the films. Essiedu, 35, is set to portray Hogwarts professor and Slytherin head Severus Snape, originally played by Emmy-winning actor Alan Rickman. Isaacs, 62, took aim at the racially charged criticism against Essiedu, whose dark complexion differs from that of the original Snape. The British actor, born and raised in London, is of Ghanaian descent. "Paapa Essiedu is one of the best actors I've ever seen in my life," Isaacs said during a July 5 panel discussion at Fan Expo Denver moderated by Collider. "I've seen some people online who are being rude about him. What they're being is racist." Meet your new Harry Potter: HBO series casts Harry, Ron and Hermione HBO's "Harry Potter" series, which does not yet have a release date, will be a new adaptation of the bestselling children's book series by J.K. Rowling, which was made into a hit film series in the 2000s that starred Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson. Rowling serves as executive producer on the show. Dominic McLaughlin is set to play orphan-turned-boy-wizard Harry Potter, while Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley. "All the cast of the new Harry Potter TV series are amazing," Isaacs told Collider. Critics "will be swallowing their tongues, hopefully — you know, their digital tongues — when they see what (Paapa) does on screen." 10 bingeable memoirs to check out: Celebrities tell all about aging, marriage and Beyoncé Essiedu, known for his roles in "I May Destroy You," "Black Mirror" and "The Outrun," shared his excitement at joining the magical world of "Harry Potter" in an April Instagram post announcing his casting. The actor affectionately signed off the post's caption as "Professor Snape." "An honor and a privilege to be going on this journey with these legends," Essiedu wrote at the time. "We shall eat, and we shall leave no crumbs. See you at Hogwarts." Contributing: Brendan Morrow, USA TODAY

Imane Ayissi Fall 2025 Couture: Natural Woman

Named 'Ikorrok' after the Ewondo word for 'fallow,' Imane Ayissi's fall collection was an ode to nature and a reminder of its powers of renewal, a notion he brought to fruition in a vivid display of silks, hand-dyed cottons, wool felt and his signature raffia with a medley of playful embellishments. 'I love taking something 'brut' and working with it to give it its letters of nobility, the way I do with raffia, which is a very rustic material, to sublimate it without using glitter and all the bling usually associated with luxury,' said the designer backstage before his show. 'I love starting with something basic and bringing it to life.' In perfect alignment, most of the materials he used were biodegradable, intended to ultimately return to nature and regenerate it. Delicate flowers in white porcelain by French sculptor Aline Putot-Toupry adorned the front of a raw-edged wool felt jacket in bright fuchsia, worn over a matching draped slip. Thousands of multicolored beads formed vertical stripes down dresses in a range of shapes to look like swarms of tiny insects, with more literal critters serving as the shimmering buttons on tailored silhouettes here and there. Dainty beaded fringe-work resembled shivering dew on a spider's web, on a striking tie-dye jumpsuit with a cinched waist and sharp silhouette, for instance. Ayissi styled his designs with elbow-length gloves in a broad array of colors or giant felt discs by way of earrings, accentuating his singular aesthetic and innovative textile choices.
