Why Ford Vs Ferrari Did Not Come Through With Brad Pitt And Tom Cruise: "Both Wanted To Drive"
Brad Pitt is currently basking in the success of his recently released film F1, which has topped the charts at the international box office. While the rumours of the F1 sequel are still rife on the Internet, with a possible crossover of Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt revealed why Ford vs Ferrari didn't happen with him and Cruise in the lead roles, as reported by Variety.
In an earlier interview, F1 director Joseph Kosinski revealed that he had initially pitched the idea of Ford vs Ferrari with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in lead roles. However, it didn't see the light of another day due to budget issues with the makers. James Mangold ended up directing Ford vs Ferrari with Christian Bale and Matt Damon instead.
In a recent interview with The National, Pitt revealed that there was another reason why Ford vs Ferrari didn't feature Cruise and him in lead roles.
"Tom and I, for a while there, were on Ford vs Ferrari with Joe [to direct]. This was about 10 years before the guys who actually made it - and made it a great movie," Pitt said.
He added, "What it came down to is that we both wanted to drive, and [Tom] wanted to play Shelby, and I wanted to play Ken Miles. And when Tom realised that Carroll Shelby would not be driving much in the movie, it didn't come through. So I'm not sure how that's going to work [in a potential F1 sequel], but we'll give it a go. I'd love to," as quoted by Variety.
According to the outlet, Pitt is currently considering an F1 sequel, as Apple is reportedly in talks about a potential follow-up to the racing movie, which grossed 144 million USD worldwide upon its release.
"I would want to drive again, selfishly speaking. F1 is still the focus. It needs to be on Joshua Pierce - Damson Idris's character - and the rest of the team fighting for a championship. Where does Sonny fit in? I'm not sure. Sonny's probably out on the Bonneville Salt Flats, setting speed records or something like that. So I'm not sure beyond that, just yet," said Pitt as quoted by Variety.
F1 is directed by John Kosinski, who is famous for the direction of Top Gun: Maverick. The racing drama also stars Damson Idris, Javier Bardem and Kate McKenna in lead roles.
It was released in theatres on June 27, 2025

Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 17: Aamir Khan's movie nears ₹150 crore mark, mints THIS amount on Sunday
Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 17: Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par is less than ₹ 5 crore shy of achieving the ₹ 150 crore mark by the end of three weeks at the Indian box office. The movie, which had a significant hold on urban cities earlier, is now facing tough competition from Anurag Basu's Metro In Dino, which, too, focuses on the same target audience. However, the potential of both Sitaare Zameen Par and Metro In Dino in metro cities is being impacted by stiff competition from the Hollywood biggies – Jurassic World Rebirth and Brad Pitt's F1. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Sitaare Zameen Par earned ₹ 3.23 crore till 5 PM on Sunday, Day 17. With this, the movie's total earnings have climbed to ₹ 145.78 crore, which is nearly ₹ 4 crore away from the ₹ 150 crore mark. These are just early estimates from Sitaare Zameen Par's Sunday earnings. The numbers will be revised later to include evening and night show collections. By the end of Saturday, Day 16, the movie had collected ₹ 142.55 crore, of which its Tamil version garnered ₹ 74,00,000 and its Telugu variant earned ₹ 44,00,000. Here's a quick look inside the world's first Ferrari-themed restaurant: Ristorante Cavallino
Located across from Ferrari HQ in Maranello, Ristorante Cavallino began as a humble canteen in 1950. Today, it's a stylish tribute to Enzo Ferrari's legacy — reimagined by chef Massimo Bottura and designer India Mahdavi. Cavallino is located in Maranello, between the Ferrari factory, the Gestione Sportiva racing department and the new flagship store. The restaurant, garden and open-air terrace are adorned with a collection of memorabilia and racing rarities from the company's archives, allowing the public a unique glimpse into the Ferrari legend. Housed in an old farmhouse bought by Enzo Ferrari, together with the land around it that is now home to the Ferrari company (a symbol of Maranello and Italy around the world), Cavallino was originally the company canteen. It was then transformed into a sit and dine restaurant in 1950, and is now the setting for Massimo Bottura's creative cuisine, conjured up by the chef's pupil, Riccardo Forapani. According to Tripadvisor, the eatery serves traditional regional dishes, such as the delicious tortellini del Tortellante, with interesting personalised twists, as evidenced by the Mòdna dessert, a Sacher cake made with sour cherries. The interesting wine list includes plenty of options by the glass, while the decor here has a pleasant vintage feel. The main room is decorated with pixelated Prancing Horse-patterned wallpaper. The high ceiling arches offer perspective and depth, and the squared terracotta floor in shades of red and ivory is inspired by classic Italian trattoria tablecloths. A post shared by Luxurious (@luxuriousbymm) The warm, welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by oak-panelled walls, upholstered yellow leather benches, console furniture individualized with photographic collages of Ferrari engines, and natural linen tablecloths. The walls feature maxi-print images from the Scuderia's historic yearbooks, as well as the front wing of the car in which Charles Leclerc won the 2019 Italian Grand Prix. Located between the main hall and the outdoor area, the Grill Room is a pleasant surprise within the warm surroundings of the restaurant. The wall features a system of grilles which allow guests to watch the preparation of dishes. From the large arched windows, guests can admire the Mediterranean-inspired outdoor patio, dominated by a pergola. It is replete with trees, plants, flowers and aromatic herbs, and is vibrant with all the changes of the seasons. There are also a couple private rooms located on the first floor, and dedicated to those wishing to dedicate themselves to the immersive experience celebrating the history of Ferrari. Both rooms are inspired by the heart and soul of Ferrari: racing and GT. From design sketches of the first Ferrari racecar to Ascari's historic winner's trophy from the 1952 Monza Grand Prix, you can find it all here.

Caitlyn Jenners manager Sophia Hutchins dies at 29 in ATV crash
Washington DC [US], July 6 (ANI): Manager and close friend of Caitlyn Jenner, Sophia Hutchins, has died at the age of 29. She passed away on Wednesday in Malibu, California, after a tragic ATV accident, as confirmed by People magazine. According to TMZ, Hutchins was riding an all-terrain vehicle when it collided with another moving vehicle. The crash threw her off the road, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Sophia became publicly known after she started working with Caitlyn Jenner soon after Jenner came out as a transgender woman in 2015. The two met through a shared hairstylist and formed a close bond. At the time, Hutchins had transitioned during college and had not yet graduated. She later took on the role of Jenner's manager, handling her public appearances and other professional matters. Sophia was also the CEO and executive director of the Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, which focuses on transgender rights and support. She appeared in several episodes of the reality show I Am Cait, which followed Jenner's life after transitioning. The show aired for two seasons before ending in 2016. In a 2018 interview with Variety, Hutchins spoke about her work with Jenner, saying, "Coming from a reality show, where every detail of your life is documented, to not seeking any press is kind of a big change. Caitlyn is not working on these [activist] issues for press attention. She's doing it because she genuinely wants to help the community." While there were often rumors about a romantic relationship between Jenner and Hutchins, both always denied it. "We are not going to get into that. But we are very close," Jenner told Variety at the time. "We're kind of inseparable. We're the best of friends." Born on April 1, 1996, in Bellevue, Washington, Sophia Hutchins earned a degree in economics and finance from Pepperdine University in 2019. Along with her work in activism and management, she also founded the sunscreen brand Lumasol. (ANI)
