Oasis announce special anniversary album, 30 years after its first release

Oasis have announced a special deluxe edition of their album (What's The Story) Morning Glory? to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
It's been three decades since the band dropped one of the most iconic records of the Britpop era, and now the group are marking the milestone with a 30th anniversary deluxe edition of (What's The Story) Morning Glory?.
The new album, which will be available from October 3, will include five newly-recorded unplugged versions of classic tracks including Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Acquiesce.
The new unplugged versions were produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho from the original master recordings at Noel's studio, Lone Star Sound, in London.
Originally released in October 1995, (What's The Story) Morning Glory? became a cultural juggernaut, selling more than 22 million copies worldwide and earning Oasis their first BRIT Award for Best British Album.
It remains the UK's third biggest selling studio album of all time, and was recently crowned the UK's most streamed album of the 1990s.
The anniversary drop comes as Oasis hit the road for their highly-anticipated Live '25 tour, with unprecedented demand seeing fans from 158 countries scramble for tickets.
The global tour kicks off this week in Cardiff before moving through the UK and eventually landing in Dublin's Croke Park on August 16 and 17.
Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot. Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly.
Elsewhere, resale sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats, StubHub and Twickets are selling tickets for various dates, although fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets.
Meanwhile Seat Unique has some VIP tickets available offering a host of additional perks alongside access to the gig.

Oasis reignite in Cardiff – Here's what to expect in Croke Park

The drought ended to fevered applause as Oasis exploded on to the stage in Cardiff last night for the opening gig of their much anticipated comeback tour, the first of a number of shows in their 'LIVE 25 World Tour', planned for the summer ahead. The drought ended to fevered applause as Oasis exploded on to the stage in Cardiff last night for the opening gig of their much anticipated comeback tour, the first of a number of shows in their 'LIVE 25 World Tour', planned for the summer ahead. Pic: Samir Hussein/WireImage Oasis will play Manchester, London, and Edinburgh before heading across the pond to Dublin on August 16 and 17. So, if you are one of the lucky ones who managed to get your mitts on a ticket for one of the Dublin shows, then here is all of the information you are going to need ahead of the highly anticipated gig. There are a number of ways to travel to Croke Park for concerts, but its very important to plan ahead in order to avoid delays. The opening night was a huge triumph by all accounts, with fans of the band describing it as their best gig ever, since their break up in 2009, Pic: AFP STRINGER/AFP via Getty Images Where possible, use public transport, instead of driving as the roads surrounding the stadium are residential roads. This means car parking is limited and restrictions will be in place within the locality. Dublin Bus offers a high-frequency, accessible and easy to use service from all over Dublin. A number of services bring you close to Croke Park and many others will get you to the city centre from where the stadium is a 15 minute walk. Transport for Ireland (TFI) have invaluable information on their website and a quick look could save you a lot of hassle in the run up to travelling to the gig. Gates open at 5pm and the concert is scheduled to start around 6.30pm with support act Richard Ashcroft and Cast taking to the stage shortly after. Oasis are due on stage around 8.15pm and judging by last nights show, will play for in and around two hours. So, what are the rules and regulations around the gig? Well if you're under 16 then you absolutely MUST be accompanied by an adult, whereas if you're under 14, then you're not allowed in the standing areas and MUST have a seat. With Cardiff now an undoubtable success, the Gallagher brothers will, no doubt, be looking ahead to the Irish leg of the tour next month. Pic: AFP STRINGER/AFP via Getty Images The show is completely sold out, and hotels in and around the area of Croke Park, on the northside of the city are scarcely available. MCD has described an Oasis concert as 'unlike anything else'. 'The roar that greets them as they step on stage. A set full of wall-to-wall classics. The spine-tingling sensation of being in a crowd singing back every word. And especially the charisma, spark and intensity that only comes when Liam and Noel Gallagher are on-stage together'. If last nights triumphant return to live performance is anything to go by, then the fans heading to Dublin in August are in for an amazing couple of nights. In a nutshell, Use public transport if you can. Do not assume you can park near Croke Park, you can't! Don't assume you will find a cheap hotel room at this stage – you won't. And obey the Gardai and Stewards on the day, remember they are there to keep you safe and ensure that everyone has a fun and memorable time. For more information closer to the time, check out

Ozzy Osbourne set for swansong at Black Sabbath hometown gig

Birmingham braced Saturday for rocker Ozzy Osbourne's final ever gig as Black Sabbath's frontman, with thousands flocking to his UK hometown for a celebration of the heavy metal genre he helped to create. Millions are also expected to follow online after fans snapped up tickets for the show, starring the original line-up, in just 16 minutes. Osbourne, 76, who revealed in 2020 that he has Parkinson's disease, will join Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the all-day Back To The Beginning show in Birmingham, central England, where the heavy metal giants formed in 1968. The gig at Aston Villa Football Club's Villa Park stadium will also feature sets by US rockers Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Tool and Slayer among others, as well as a short solo set by Osbourne. Around 40,000 fans are expected to watch the original line-up's first show together in 20 years and Osbourne's swansong. The show comes as 1990s Britpop band Oasis play in Cardiff in the second of two concerts as part of another highly anticipated reunion. "Birmingham is a city which means so much to Ozzy. When it comes to heavy metal music, Black Sabbath forming and his love of Aston Villa -– it all started here," his wife Sharon said in comments released by West Midlands Growth Company (WMGC), the region's investment and promotion body. Black Sabbath have sold over 75 million albums worldwide and are widely recognised as one of the pioneers of heavy metal. All profits from the show will go to charities including Cure Parkinson's and Birmingham Children's Hospital. Osbourne's diagnosis led to him pausing touring. But Sharon told the BBC the Villa Park gig would be his last. "This is his full stop," she was quoted as saying. Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello, musical director for the concert, said he plans "to make it the greatest day, the most important day in the history of heavy metal music". The Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan, who will also perform, added that "this might be the greatest one-day lineup in the history of rock 'n' roll". The show is expected to deliver the area a multi-million pound boost, with hotel occupancy in Birmingham city centre expected to surge close to 90 percent, according to WMGC. "The eyes of the world will be on Birmingham," said John Cotton, leader of the city council. "There is always such a special atmosphere in the city on major event days." Osbourne's live performances at the height of his hedonism have gone down in rock folklore, particularly a 1982 gig in Des Moines, Iowa, when he bit the head of a bat on stage. Osbourne says he thought a fan had thrown a fake rubber bat onstage, and it wasn't until he took a bite that he realised it was real. "I can assure you the rabies shots I went through afterwards aren't fun," he told US TV host David Letterman in 1982. But there are unlikely to be any repeat performances on Saturday, with the rocker mellowing in his old age. To coincide with the concert, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition in honour of the city's famous son, displaying his awards, memorabilia and photographs.

The Battle of Britpop lives on as Blur fire cheeky dig during Oasis reunion tour

No, you haven't transported back in time by 30 years — Blur have fired a cheeky dig at Oasis in 2025 after the latter kicked off their reunion tour. The Britpop bands were at odds at the height of their powers in the 90s, with people being asked which band they prefer and the chart battle between the bands, amid jibes between the Gallagher brothers' northern band and Damon Albarn's Blur, who were considered to represent the south. Tensions cooled between the two bands, with Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn becoming friends over the last few years; but as Oasis kicked off their reunion tour for their first gig in 16 years, Blur's official social media channels couldn't help but get a cheeky dig in by sharing a video of them performing The Narcissist at Wembley Stadium. The band shared the clip on YouTube, and announced that their entire Wembley show was available to stream online, on Twitter (X) — although some fans thought the timing was hilariously awkward. 'Not today lads, not today,' one person wrote, while another joked 'not today babe, not today.' Others thought the timing was hilarious — with one person writing 'big fan of the timing on this tweet,' with another sharing a video of the Gallaghers at the BRIT awards when they took a cheeky dig at Blur while accepting an award. Oasis and Blur were embroiled in a Britpop 'rivalry,' with the pair going on a chart battle in 1995 and a football match in 1996. Pic: Avalon/Getty Images Being the two biggest bands in the UK in the 1990s, Oasis and Blur engaged in cheeky jibes throughout 1995, with Oasis calling Blur 'Chas and Dave chimney sweep music,' while Blur compared Oasis to Status Quo. The rivalry, which was egged on by the British press, culminated in 'The Battle of Britpop' which saw Blur's song Country House beating out Roll With It by Oasis which sold 279,000 copies to the Manchester band's 216,000. The winners performed the number one single on Top of the Pops, with bassist Alex James wearing an Oasis t-shirt in a nod to their adversaries. However, things cooled down between the bands, and Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn have become friends; with Noel admittedly calling the faux-battle 's**t' and thinking that the bigger chart race should've been between Cigarettes and Alcohol by Oasis vs Girls and Boys by Blur. Oasis kicked off their reunion tour in Cardiff on Friday. Pic: Samir Hussein/WireImage After Oasis split in 2009 following the huge bust-up between Noel and Liam, Noel went on to perform with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds — and even performed with Damon, who went on to found Gorillaz, at a Teenage Cancer Trust gig in 2013. As for Oasis, the brothers finally kissed and made up and announced a reunion tour; which kicked off in Cardiff's Principality Stadium on Friday (July 4).
