New cast confirmed for season 2 of Prime Video' best thriller series that's the 'perfect mix of grit and wit'
And now the show is officially coming back for a second season, but this time it's got a brand new duo playing a new seemingly married couple.
Yes! Following the release of the first season Mr & Mrs Smith co-creator Francesca Sloane teased a potential update on another season of the show.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly on 2nd February 2024, Sloane said she was keen for the possibility of another season, explaining there's so much more they could do with the story and concept.
"I think that there's definitely a lot more story to tell here,' she explained. 'I think that we definitely feel like this is a fully satisfied story if it were to just live on its own. But it definitely has more legs to keep going, that's for sure."
And then on 14th May 2024, Prime Video confirmed they would be making another season of Mr & Mrs Smith.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, said of the news: "We are excited to announce that a second season of our groundbreaking spy series, Mr. and Mrs. Smith is in the works for our global Prime Video customers. The success of the first season, with its incredibly modern, sexy reinvention of the original film, is a testament to the brilliant creators Donald Glover and Francesa Sloane. We are proud to bring you another season filled with unforgettable journeys and new adventures.'
Ok bad news folks, Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are not set to reprise their roles next season, but if you've watched the season finale then that likely won't come as a shock to you.
As we discovered in season one, there are many different spies employed to go undercover as different versions of Mr and Mrs Smith, so it looks like we'll have an exciting opportunity to see a new pair of spies take on these iconic aliases.
And we now know the next pairing to take on the roles will be Sophie Thatcher and Mark Eydelshteyn.
You'll most likely know Sophie from her role in Yellowjackets and the movies Companion and Heretic. Mark is best known for appearing in the Oscar-winning Anora.
As mentioned, the eight-part series (which was released in February 2024), follows a couple who are recruited by a spy agency to work together, and partake in a fake marriage as part of their missions.
It's loosely inspired by the film (but differs in that the original couple didn't realise each other were also spies), with the official synopsis reading, "Meet the Smiths: two lonely strangers, John and Jane, who have given up their lives and identities to be thrown together as partners – both in espionage and in marriage.
It's a Prime Video original, so you'll need to be a Prime member to access Prime Video. Amazon Prime costs £8.99 per month or £95 a year, which works out at £7.92 a month.

Matthew Lawrence Wants To Revive Robin Williams With AI
AI is used for lots of purposes these days — and if he could, Matthew Lawrence would "love" to use it to resurrect his Mrs. Doubtfire co-star Robin Williams. Matthew made the revelation in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. He said he thinks Robin's "voice is just so iconic" and that using AI could provide a way to "do something really special" with it. He said, "I would love — now, obviously, with the respect and with the okay from his family — but I would love to do something really special with his voice because I know for a generation, that voice is just so iconic." He insisted he's not the only one who thinks so, either. "It's in everybody's head," he shared. "And it would be so cool." Apparently, Matthew got the idea from one of Robin's old commercials before the actor's 2014 death, which saw him speaking in a "computerized voiceover." "And it always stuck with me," Matthew shared. "And then, during his passing, with the AI coming out, I'm like, 'Man, he's gotta be the voice of A.I. He's gotta be the voice in something.' So yeah, I would love to do that." "Fuck no," one reader tweeted in response. "This feels incredibly disrespectful." "I doubt his family wants that," another said. "And no AI can replicate Robin Williams." "Absolutely not," someone else agreed. Other people pointed out that it couldn't happen anyway — at least not for a while, as Robin reportedly has a trust that strictly prohibits using his voice or likeness for 25 years. "That doesn't honor him," a fourth person wrote. "that disrespects him and his memory especially when he was against that." Another person took a difference stance, saying that they would be "okay with this if Robin's family is." I love Robin Williams, too, but I personally think we should leave people alone, especially if that's what they wanted! Tell me what you think in the comments.

Tom Hiddleston's ‘The Life Of Chuck' New On Streaming This Week, Report Says
Tom Hiddleston in "The Life of Chuck." Director Mike Flanagan's The Life of Chuck, starring Tom Hiddleston, is reportedly coming to digital streaming this week. After opening in limited release on June 6, The Life of Chuck — which is based on a short story by Stephen King — expanded to theaters nationwide on June 13. Released by indie studio NEON, the film's summary reads, 'From the hearts and minds of Stephen King and Mike Flanagan comes The Life of Chuck, the extraordinary story of an ordinary man. This unforgettable, genre-bending tale celebrates the life of Charles 'Chuck' Krantz as he experiences the wonder of love, the heartbreak of loss, and the multitudes contained in all of us.' Rated R, The Life of Chuck is expected to be released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, July 29, When to Stream. While When to Stream is typically accurate with its streaming reports, the streaming tracker noted that Neon has not announced or confirmed the release date of the film and as such, it is subject to change. The Life of Chuck is currently listed on Prime Video for pre-order for $19.99, which is also the film's digital purchase price. Since PVOD rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, viewers can expect to rent The Life of Chuck for $14.99 for 48 hours. In addition to Prime Video, The Life of Chuck will also be available on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home and YouTube. Tom Hiddleston Says He Was 'Overwhelmingly Moved' By 'The Life Of Chuck' Screenplay In an interview with Men's Health published in mid-June, Tom Hiddleston said that he read Mike Flanagan's screenplay for The Life of Chuck in one sitting and that he was "overwhelmingly moved' by it. 'I understood what Mike's extraordinary screenplay and Stephen King's short story was trying to say, which is that every seemingly ordinary human life is magic,' the Loki star told Men's Health. 'And that inside the soul of every human being is an internal world of connections, both real and imagined, connections to people we love, to experiences we've shared, to memories we've made.' In addition to Hiddleston, The Life of Chuck also stars Jacob Tremblay, Benjamin Pajak and Cody Flanagan as the younger versions of Chuck. The film's cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mia Sara, Karen Gillan, Carl Lumbly, David Dastmalchian, Matthew Lillard, Harvey Guillén and Mark Hamill. The Life of Chuck is expected to be released on PVOD on Tuesday.

Countdown's Elliot Knight Breaks Down That Bell/Valwell Bait-and-Snitch: ‘His Eye Is on the Prize'
The following contains spoilers from the July 23 episode of , now streaming on Prime Video. Tensions are running high on Countdown, as lead after lead on slippery Volchek comes up empty — or, worse, steers Task Force Hurricane into a dead end because someone apparently is snitching on their next moves. More from TVLine Dexter: Resurrection's Michael C. Hall and Krysten Ritter Detail Killer Dinner Party, Dexter and Mia's Instant Connection - Watch Gen V Season 2 Trailer Reveals Ethan Slater's Casting, Starlight's Mission for Marie and a Chance Perdomo Tribute Save the Dates: Solar Opposites Swan Song, E! News Shuts Down and More That was the case this week, in Episode 7 (of 13), when the team's stealthy raid of a company that works with fissile materials turned up only a smug lawyer sitting inside a recently emptied warehouse. SAC Blythe (played by Eric Dane) was quick to call out the SWAT team leader for having a rat in his ranks, but for naught. Is there a mole in the midst? Adding to the paranoia was an earlier scene between FBI Special Agent Keyonte Bell (The Boys' Elliot Knight) and District Attorney Grayson Valwell (Merrick McCartha), the same ambitious politico who has been (unsuccessfully!) bugging Blythe to keep him apprised of each and every development. Valwell spoke of how he worked with Bell's father and, more pointedly, how Bell's father (ahem) knew what to do to get ahead. Valwell clearly was courting Bell to be his man on the inside. And one might not fault Bell for being susceptible to such an overture, given how stung he was when Blythe chided him for mocking a colleague's bad tip. Of all Hurricane members, Bell 'definitely has the most to prove, and I think he's the most focused on how he can prove himself,' portrayer Elliot Knight tells TVLine. But if Bell continues to struggle to impress his SAC, there could be the temptation to at least consider alternative paths up the professional ladder. 'This is a big deal to be a part of a task force like this, but I do think it's important to Bell that his eye is on the prize, and that is to rise up the ranks,' says Knight. 'My question, as Elliot, is why does it sting?' to get dinged by Blythe. 'Is it as simple as him wanting to be the director of the FBI one day? What else is at play?' Luckily, viewers did not have to wait until next week to find out if Bell took the bait. Because at episode's end — as part of a montage that also included Mark confiding his tumor sitch with Amber and Volchek leading some Belarusian adversaries into a brilliantly explosive trap — Bell met again with Valwell to assert his loyalty to Blythe & Co. and acknowledge that, yes, his father was many things that he isn't. 'Bell knows that Valwell had a professional relationship with his father, and Valwell speaks to that and almost floats the sense of power over Bell — 'I worked with your dad and he made the right choice, because he knew what to do,'' Knight notes. 'It's a test for Bell to see what he will do.' But did Bell pass said test by refusing to be a snitch? Or is he perhaps cunningly playing a long game? 'There's a question mark over what happened in the past' with his father, says Knight, and 'either Bell has committed to this sense of justice and that's what he's going to fight for always, or there's something else he's looking to work towards. 'I think the smart play is to always assume that there's a bigger picture in this world, than what's happening on the surface,' the actor teases. Want scoop on , or for any other TV show?
