The seven-time world champion failed to pick up any points and sounded like a broken man over the team radio post-race.
Hamilton said: "Really sorry about this weekend guys, for losing you points."
He also reportedly sat in his car for some time after parking it up.
It comes after the Brit's woeful qualifying session yesterday that saw him exit in Q2 while team-mate Charles Leclerc secured a shock pole.

Hamilton again sounded crestfallen over the team radio, saying: "It's me every time. I'm useless, absolutely useless.
"The team have no problem. You've seen the car's on pole so we probably need to change driver."
Told by a member of the Ferrari team that his assessment was wrong, Hamilton replied: "It clearly is. I just drove terribly. It is what it is."
Hamilton has not finished on the podium in 14 races since making his move to the Scuderia.

And to cap a disastrous weekend for Ferrari in Hungary, Leclerc slipped to fourth and slammed the team over the radio.
He raged: "This is so incredibly frustrating. We have lost all competitiveness.

"You just had to listen to me, I would have found a different way of managing those issues.
"Now it's just undriveable. Undrivable. It's a miracle if we finish on the podium."
McLaren's Lando Norris won the Grand Prix and celebrated by kissing his model girlfriend Margarida Corceiro.

Millions of UK drivers heading abroad this summer told spend £6 NOW to avoid huge disappointment when you land

MILLIONS of motorists planning on heading abroad this summer have been warned to spend £6 now to avoid a huge disappointment. The DVLA issued the warning to motorists planning summer holidays in the European Union and beyond. 2 Drivers were told they may need an international driving permit (IDP) before travelling to their holiday destination. Anyone hoping to hop in a hire car while enjoying a summer break has been urged to check if they'll need a permit before they fly. Drivers could face disappointment after landing and trying to pick up their hire car if they don't have a permit. To avoid missing out on motoring abroad drivers have been instructed to purchase an IDP for just £5.50 from certain shops that have a PayPoint. To get hold of a permit you must be 18 or over, live in the Great Britain or Northern Ireland and hold a full UK driving licence. The DVLA said you should check if the individual state authority says you need an IDP. If you're planning on hiring a car, you should check with the car hire company if you need an IDP. In the US drivers might require a driving licence and an IDP to hire a motor for their holiday. Motorists who only hold a paper driving licence must take another form of photographic ID with them. Brits planning to move abroad who want to continue driving may need to get a local driving licence. Our rental car burst into FLAMES – we escaped by the skin of our teeth In some countries you can exchange your UK licence without taking another driving test. Rules in EU countries vary and the DVLA has encouraged motorists to check the rules for exchanging your licence in the EU. In some countries, like Cyprus, you can use a UK photocard driving licence for up to 30 days without an IDP. But if you're hiring a car you should always check with the hire company before travelling. 2 If you hold a driving licence from Gibraltar, Jersey, Guernsey or the Isle of Man, you may need an IDP for any length of visit. The DVLA said: 'If you're hiring a car abroad, you should check with your car hire company if you need an International Driving Permit (IDP) before travelling.' Brit motorists could face disappointment at the car hire desk if they forget to check. IDPs last for a while so it's worth getting one before jetting off for a holiday. A 1926 or 1949 permit lasts for 12 months while a 1968 permit lasts for three years or until your UK licence expires, whichever comes first. The Centre Line: Ensure you're staying in lane by lining up the central road marking with the left-hand corner of your car's windscreen. Use Your Sat-Nav: Your navigation system will guide you where to turn and serve as a helpful reminder on roundabouts. It's especially useful for navigating one-way systems with unfamiliar road signs, and it will alert you to changes in speed limits. Dual Carriageways: Stick to the right-hand lane, as this is the normal driving lane unless overtaking. Remember, your blind spot will now be over your left shoulder. Turning Left: This manoeuvre involves cutting across traffic, so give way to oncoming vehicles – similar to making a right turn in the UK. On fast-moving roads, you may need to pull over to the right before crossing at a right angle to avoid blocking traffic. Pay attention to the signs. Roundabouts: Give way to the left rather than the right at roundabouts and don't forget to signal right when exiting.

McLaren boss anticipates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri ‘swapping paint again'

Norris heads into Formula One's summer break just nine points behind Piastri in the standings following his third win from his last four appearances at Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix. Piastri came close to taking Norris out on the penultimate lap as they duelled for the win. There was a similar narrow escape between the McLaren drivers at the Red Bull Ring in June, a fortnight after Norris ran into the back of Piastri in Canada. 'There is competitiveness brewing but we are not feeling any tension,' insisted Brown. 'As the championship builds, I am sure that tension will grow. We are fully anticipating them swapping paint again at some point but I am very confident it wouldn't be deliberate, which is when you get into problems and get bad blood. 'I don't think they will fall out because of the communication, trust and respect we all have and they have for each other. We are very fortunate to have the two personalities that we have and I am looking forward to them racing each other. They are free to race. And if something bubbles up we will deal with it. DRIVER STANDINGS (AFTER 14/24 ROUNDS) Oscar Piastri takes a nine-point lead into the summer break#F1 #HungarianGP — Formula 1 (@F1) August 3, 2025 'It is not the elephant in the room because we talk about it. We meet every Sunday morning, they know each other's strategy, and we are totally transparent. 'I have said to both of them individually: 'Has your team-mate done anything to p*** you off?' Never. And that's what they have both said. Fundamentally you've got two great, respectful guys and their relationship today is the best it has ever been.' Norris drove well at the Hungaroring but could count himself somewhat fortunate to win after he qualified behind Piastri and then dropped two places to fifth on the first lap. A one-stop strategy reversed his fortunes but Norris admitted afterwards that he is 'not making life easy for myself' and there have been doubts as to the 25-year-old's title credentials. Nico Rosberg, the 2016 world champion, said recently that 'the championship is going to be decided in Lando's head'. But Brown responded: 'Lando is in a great place. There was also a time Lando couldn't win from pole position, according to the world, and he has won four of his last five races from pole, so I think this kind of narrative around Lando is not accurate. 'He is open, he kind of wears his emotions on his sleeve, everyone is different, and Lando of a year ago could maybe be more critical on himself but he is in a great place, I've never seen him in a better place and he is doing an awesome job.'
