England recover from 5-1 down in record draw with Germany at under-19 Euros
In their second game of the tournament, England found themselves 5-1 down in the 48th minute, but four goals in 11 second-half minutes helped the young side earn an unlikely draw.
The 10-goal haul in Bucharest on Tuesday was one more than the previous tournament record of nine goals in a match, Spain's 8-1 victory over Cyprus in 2006 . Gerard Pique and Juan Mata both featured for the victors that day.
Germany looked on course for a comfortable win on Tuesday as goals from Barcelona's Noah Darvic and Said El Mala established a 2-0 lead just after the half-hour mark.
Fulham's Josh King pulled one back in the 35th minute, but Max Moerstedt and Leopold Wurm ensured Germany retired at half-time 4-1 up and in command.

El Mala made it 5-1 upon the restart, but Manchester United's Ethan Wheatley pulled one back seven minutes into the second half to England's remarkable comeback.
Tottenham Hotspur's Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny, Nottingham Forest's Zach Abottt, and Crystal Palace's Jesse Derry all scored to make it 5-5 in the 63rd minute. Despite six minutes of stoppage time, neither side was able to find a winner, and the game ended in a pulsating 5-5 draw.
The result leaves Germany, who lost their first game 3-0 to the Netherlands on Saturday, bottom of group B, while England, who were held to a 2-2 draw with Norway on the same day, are in second spot.
England face group leaders the Netherlands on Friday in their final group game.

Benjamin Sesko makes crucial transfer decision to impact Liverpool's Alexander Isak chase
RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko has snubbed Manchester United and is keen to join Newcastle United. That's according to DELO, who claims Sesko has analyzed both Premier League proposals and favors a move to Newcastle this summer. The news comes just hours after Liverpool saw a $146 million offer for Alexander Isak rejected by Newcastle. Newcastle has clarified that Isak is not for sale, but would only consider allowing a deal if its $197 million valuation was met. After losing out on Hugo Ekitike to Liverpool, Newcastle has also stated that a replacement for Isak would need to be finalized before allowing him to leave. READ MORE: Luis Diaz dealt early Bayern Munich setback after Tottenham transfer agreement READ MORE: Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Alexander Isak bid, Adidas kit launch, Rodrygo talks Sesko, 22, is seen as one of the brightest young talents in world soccer and has been heavily monitored by Europe's top clubs. Newcastle and United are considered the frontrunners to sign him this summer, but Sesko prefers a move to the League Cup champions. The Slovenian forward joined Leipzig from Salzburg in 2022 for a fee of $28 million. Leipzig is understood to require a fee of $87 million to sanction a transfer this summer, with add-ons and a sell-on clause also integral to a potential sale. Earlier this window, Newcastle attempted to sign Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt and planned to play him alongside Isak. However, Liverpool hijacked the move and then tried to prize Isak away from Newcastle. After weeks of speculation, Liverpool submitted an official bid for Isak worth $146 million on Friday. Newcastle instantly rejected the offer, and Liverpool opted to withdraw its interest. A second bid was thought to be pointless due to Newcastle's firm stance, which hasn't changed since Liverpool's interest was first reported. However, Newcastle's stance could change if a replacement striker is signed, and Sesko is keen on the move. It's been a very active summer for Liverpool, which has signed Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, and Armin Pecsi. Approximately $325 million has been spent by Liverpool this summer, meaning that departures have also been crucial to balance the books. Nat Phillips, Caoimhin Kelleher, Jarell Quansah, and Luis Diaz all left the club this summer, and Liverpool received a collective $141 million. Liverpool also secured $12 million from Real Madrid for the early release of Trent Alexander-Arnold. Another high-profile player must be sold to come close to Newcastle's demands and fund a potential Isak transfer. Darwin Nunez has been heavily linked with an exit this summer, and negotiations with Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal are ongoing. Liverpool is looking to secure a fee in the region of $75 million for Nunez, $10 million less than they paid Benfica for his services in 2022. Nunez was previously in talks with Napoli, but the Serie A champions withdrew interest. Tyler Morton, Harvey Elliott, and Andrew Robertson have also been linked with moves away from Liverpool this summer. At this stage, a second bid for Isak is off the table, but if Sesko joins Newcastle, the transfer saga may be revived.

Liverpool 'makes decision' on new Alexander Isak transfer bid after Newcastle rejection
Liverpool will not make another bid for Alexander Isak after their initial bid for the Swedish striker was rejected by Newcastle United. On Friday is was confirmed the Magpies had turned down Liverpool's $157.9 million offer for the 25-year-old, with Newcastle having no intention of selling the striker who has three years left on his deal. Isak, who did not travel on Newcastle's pre-season tour of Asia, has made it clear he wants to leave St. James' Park this summer. However, it has now been reported that Liverpool will not, at this time, be going back in for the Swede. The Liverpool Echo's Ian Doyle wrote on X: "#LFC indeed won't be making a second bid for Alexander Isak as things stand given the clarity of Newcastle's swift and emphatic response. The Reds offered £110m." READ MORE: Liverpool transfer news LIVE: Alexander Isak bid, Adidas kit launch, Rodrygo talks READ MORE: Luis Diaz dealt early Bayern Munich setback after Tottenham transfer agreement Having joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for $79.3M, Isak has become one of the best strikers in the world. He has scored 62 goals in 109 appearances for the Magpies, with 23 of those coming last term in the Premier League. Isak also netted the second goal for Newcastle during the Carabao Cup final earlier this year against Liverpool, helping the Magpies to their first silverware in 70 years. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has reiterated he wants to keep the Magpies star striker on Tyneside. "He is still our player," said Howe in Seoul, South Korea during Newcastle's pre-season tour. "He's contracted to us. We, to a degree, control what is next for him. I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. "My wish is that he stays, but that's not in my full control. We have not received a formal offer for Alex, from any club. My wish is that he stays and we see him playing again next year." With Newcastle having yet to bring in a striker this summer, losing Isak would mean they need to bring in a minimum of two forwards. They value Isak at just shy of $200M ($197.4M), meaning the Reds bid fell short by around $39M. While they did add Anthony Elanga, Newcastle's efforts to strengthen their squad this summer have been thwarted by a number of different Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, who brought in Hugo Ekitike, a player who Newcastle had held an interest in since 2022. They also have Champions League football this term to deal with, with the last time they featured in the competition seeing them finish bottom of their group behind Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan.

Man Utd club shop bans supporters from printing names of legendary trio on back of shirts due to key licensing issue
Fans cannot print name of three legends on their shirt United do not own player trademarks Sign at club shop informs confused fans Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? Reported by Manchester Evening News, the three players in question are legendary No. 7s Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Eric Cantona. United do not own the trademark to any of the trio of former players' names, which means they are not licensed to print them on the back of shirts. THE BIGGER PICTURE The report states that this has been the case for several years and not just at United, as Real Madrid do not have the rights to print the legendary Ronaldo's name either, despite his status as one of the club's greatest-ever players. With this in mind, the recent craze around retro football shirts makes sense as it gives fans the chance to sport the names of their favourite players from the past on their backs, on shirts which were printed at a time when the player in question was at the club. In the case of Ronaldo, Beckham and Cantona, these shirts must be very rare to find indeed. WHAT FANS HAVE SAID United fans expressed their confusion at the licensing rule on social media. One fan said on X: "That's really weird." "Modern football just gets weirder," another added. A third said: "What if I call my son Beckham and he wants his own name on his shirt?" Another stated: "How can you copyright a name lol I'm pretty sure there's more people with those names." WHAT NEXT FOR MAN UTD? The Red Devils face Everton and Fiorentina in their final pair of pre-season fixtures before Mikel Arteta's Arsenal visit Old Trafford on August 17. Ruben Amorim's side will be looking for a major improvement on their unprecedented struggles last campaign and may look to complete further transfer business before the campaign gets underway.
