Oman: $62mln major water project inaugurated in Al Wusta
The project involves construction of four stations: the Duqm station, which consists of a pumping station with full mechanical and electrical equipment; the Al Ajaez station, which consists of a pumping station with a 1,000 cubic metre ground reservoir; the Abu Madhabi station, which consists of a pumping station with a 1,000 cubic metre ground reservoir and a tanker filling station and Haima station, which has a pumping station with a 5,000 cubic metre ground reservoir, a 600 cubic metre overhead reservoir and a tanker filling station.
Among the projects is the Diaa 1 project in the Wilayat of Al Jazar. The project is a partnership with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). It is a solar-powered project located in the Wadi Ghadan highlands and has a production capacity of up to 60 kilowatts. This is in addition to Wadi Rawnab tanker filling station which has a production capacity of up to 30 kilowatts, Al Khamkham water desalination plant project in the Wilayat of Haima with a production capacity of up to 42 kilowatts per hour, the Wadi Nafi desalination plant project in the Wilayat of Mahout with a production capacity of 400 cubic metres per day, Dhahr desalination plant project in Duqm Governorate has a production capacity of 38 kilowatts per hour.
The projects also include the Al Jazar desalination plant project with a production capacity of 240 cubic metres per day, the Al Najda desalination plant expansion project in the Wilayat of Mahout with a production capacity of 500 cubic metres per day as well as the rehabilitation of six tanker filling stations in the wilayats of Mahout and Duqm.
Other projects include construction of a wastewater treatment plant in the Wilayat of Mahout, construction of a wastewater treatment plant in the Wilayat of Al Jazer, and the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in the Wilayat of Al Jazer.

Saudi's NWC launches $400mln water, wastewater projects in Jazan
The state-owned National Water Company (NWC) said on Thursday that is implementing 19 water and wastewater projects in Jazan province at a cost of over 1.5 billion Saudi riyals ($400 million). These include the installation of water and sewage networks that extend more than 1,203 kilometres (km), the company said in a post on the social messaging platform X. The nine water projects involve water networks extending more than 397 km. Additionally, two operational reservoirs with a total capacity of 15,000 cubic metres (m3) will be developed, along with the building of pumping stations with a capacity exceeding 60,000 m3/day. Oman: SalamAir releases 2nd quarter on-time performance data
Muscat: SalamAir, Oman's low-cost carrier, has announced its On-Time Performance (OTP) results for the second quarter of 2025, reaffirming its commitment to operational reliability and transparency. OTP is a measure of how often an airline is on time and is an indicator of the airline's ability to meet its commitment to punctuality for its customers. Between April and June 2025, SalamAir operated 5,144 flights and carried 712,610 passengers, achieving an OTP of 88%. This is a 12% improvement in OTP compared to Q1, which was 78%, and demonstrates the airline's dedication to maintaining punctuality despite operational and political challenges across the region. While flight operations during this period were impacted by regional conflicts and other external circumstances beyond our control, SalamAir continued to deliver strong performance and ensure a reliable service for its customers. The Emirates A350 begins regular operations to Muscat
Dubai: Emirates' highly anticipated Airbus A350 is now a regular sight at Muscat International Airport, with the start of regular daily services between Dubai and Muscat. The deployment of the next-generation aircraft, originally slated for 1 July, was brought forward by a week. The aircraft operates flight EK 866, which departs Dubai at 2:15 am and arrives in Muscat at 3:30 am. The return leg, EK 867 departs Muscat at 4:40 am and lands in Dubai at 5:55 am, perfectly timed to help customers connect for their flights to destinations in Europe, Americas, Africa and Asia. * The three-class aircraft offers 312 seats with 32 lie-flat seats in Business Class arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, 21 Premium Economy seats in a comfortable 2-3-2 setup, and 259 spacious Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 layout.
