Everything We Know About CAINE, the JOHN WICK Spinoff Sequel
The John Wick universe is one that's very ripe for spinoff exploration. And that's exactly what we are getting with the spinoff prequel film Ballerina as well as a sequel film about Caine. It's pretty easy to see why Caine is getting his own film. We met this blind High Table assassin in John Wick 4 who takes on his former friend to keep his daughter safe. At the end of the film, Caine and his daughter are free from the High Table, however, a post-credits scene shows Akira coming for him.

What will go down in Caine's John Wick spinoff? Here's everything we know about the film so far.
Right now, the film is using the working title Caine. That could change as it gets closer to completion and release.
We know that Caine will have to face Akira, the daughter of Koji whom Caine killed during a major fight at the Osaka Continental. He did spare Akira's life but she's hellbent on revenge and could possibly try to harm his daughter. We may also discover more about his life while moving his story forward. Variety reports that the Caine spinoff film will be a 'Hong Kong-style action thriller.'
Donnie Yen will both star in, executive produce, and direct the John Wick spinoff Caine film. It will be produced by Basil Iwanyk, Chad Stahelski, and Erica Lee, all of whom worked on the franchise's previous installments. The writer is The Batman – Part II's Mattson Tomlin. The film is set to start production soon, perhaps over the summer of 2025.
Of course, Donnie Yen will portray Caine. We can assume that Aimée Kwan will also return as Caine's daughter Mia. Rina Sawayama will reprise her role as the sword-wielding Akira as an antagonist.
'John Wick: Chapter 4 introduced us to so many compelling, original characters, including Akira. We're beyond thrilled to have Rina coming back to the franchise—Caine and Akira have unfinished business, and this next chapter in their stories will be explosive,' said Adam Fogelson, chair of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
We will have to see what new characters we meet and if any others from the franchise will return.
There is currently no release date for Caine.

Warner Bros. Gives Up on ‘Akira' Remake, But Hollywood Won't
Well, it's happened. After 20 years of shuffling creative teams and development hell, Warner Bros. finally called it and won't remake Akira. But things aren't ending there, according to the Hollywood Reporter. WB's simply let go of the movie rights it acquired back in 2002. They've now returned to the manga's publisher, Kodansha; according to THR, several producers and talents are already 'lining up' for the chance to adapt it. No specific people were listed, ditto studios or streamers, but you can imagine all the big ones want it. WB's been threatening to do an Akira remake directed or written by either Stephen Norrington, Garry Whitta, Jaume Collet-Serra, or others. One of the more recent names thrown out there was Taika Waititi to direct and co-write in 2017, and it was even meant to release in May 2021. But after Waititi was locked in for Thor: Love & Thunder and other projects, the remake got pulled from the release schedule. Since then, there's been no word on it. Like Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Saw before it, Akira now has a chance at a real future on the big screen. The question now is, who'll be the one to bring it to the masses, and how will that film change the source for a new audience that probably only knows it because of the endlessly replicated slide? Lauren Sánchez Bezos's Ongoing Fashion Fascination with Sophia Loren
By her own admission, Lauren Sánchez Bezos did not marry Jeff Bezos in the kind of gown she initially envisioned. Originally, she told Vogue's Chloe Malle that she had visions of a strapless dress. But after going on a Blue Origin space flight to the Kárman line, both her perspective about her life—and style—shifted. 'It went from 'I want a simple, sexy modern dress' to 'I want something that evokes a moment,' and where I am right now. I am a different person than I was five years ago,' she said. So, she researched pictures of brides from the 1950s. One in particular stuck with her: Sophia Loren's wedding dress from the 1958 movie Houseboat. 'I said, 'That's it. That's the dress.'' After several conversations with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, Dolce & Gabbana made her a high lace neck mermaid-line gown with 180 hand-finished, silk chiffon-covered buttons that took over 1900 hours to make. 'The whole thing was like a dream,' Sánchez says. Loren's original—and fictional—dress was made by legendary costume designer Edith Head, who received eight Academy Awards (as well as a total of 35 nominations) and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her work with Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures. She's known for crafting the clothes worn by Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's, Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief, and Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard.
