M3GAN 2.0 Flops at the Box Office
The first M3GAN movie was such an unexpected hit, and the little killer robot doll became such a hit online—especially with the gay community. With the sequel embracing the gay fanbase, it seemed like the movie was primed for a successful run at Pride Month, but that doesn't seem to be the case. According to Variety, M3GAN 2.0 has promptly failed at the box office, earning only 17 million globally with a budget of 25 million. For context, the first movie managed to earn 45 million globally (eventually getting to 180 million) out of a 12 million budget. We don't know exactly why the sequel didn't manage to bring back the audience from last time, but there are several factors being considered; like the fact that it has to compete with several huge blockbusters like F1 and How to Train Your Dragon . Some also speculate that it has something to do with the shift of the marketing to focus on M3GAN being a sassy 'good' robot now. While I love the switch of genres that's very much like Terminator 2 , some guess that this turned off horror fans in favor of just catering to the LGBTQ+—who was probably just a minority of the audience that loved the original movie. Who knows, maybe the sequel would find new life once it releases on streaming, but for now, it looks like the marketing campaign—while fun—didn't manage to encourage people to actually get tickets and see it in the theater. Such a shame because I was hoping for a trilogy. M3GAN 2.0 is now showing in theaters.

Project Hail Mary: Ryan Gosling Stars in Next Movie from the Writer of The Martian
Andy Weir is best known for being the author of The Martian , and the film was praised for being completely accurate when it comes to the premise of someone trying to survive in Mars. Now his other book, Project Hail Mary is getting an adaptation, and we just got our first trailer starring Ryan Gosling. Check this out: Here's the logline: 11.9 Light-years from home. 6th grade science teacher. 1 chance to save us all. Besides Gosling, one big hook with this movie is that it's being directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller; who are going out of their superhero/comedy box for a sci-fi blockbuster. Funnily enough, Lord and Miller kind of lost their sci-fi card when they were fired from the Han Solo movie; and now they're working with Gosling, who is set to star in his own Star Wars movie directed by Shawn Levy. Anyone whose read the book Project Hail Mary can't help but gush about it, and the trailer has a lot of them excited. Looking at it with fresh eyes though, it does kind of look like the same premise as The Martian, with the main character spending a huge time alone in space; and we'll have to watch him survive by himself—also video diaries look like they're going to be a regular part of the movie. Hopefully we'll get to see more of the movie soon. Personally, I think it looks fantastic; and it does look like the film is also going to delving into all the logistical complexities of transporting just one person lightyears away. Watch out for Project Hail Mary when it comes to cinemas on March 20, 2026.

Stephen King's The Running Man Also Gets First Trailer
A month ago we got the trailer for The Long Walk , an adaptation of a Stephen King novel where kids go on a life-and-death game show where they have to walk. Now we have a trailer for another live-and-death game show from King, but this time, the contestants run . Check out the trailer for The Running Man starring Glen Powell and directed by Edgar Wright: In a near-future society, The Running Man is the top-rated show on television—a deadly competition where contestants, known as Runners, must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins, with every move broadcast to a bloodthirsty public and each day bringing a greater cash reward. Desperate to save his sick daughter, working-class Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the show's charming but ruthless producer, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to enter the game as a last resort. But Ben's defiance, instincts, and grit turn him into an unexpected fan favorite—and a threat to the entire system. As ratings skyrocket, so does the danger, and Ben must outwit not just the Hunters, but a nation addicted to watching him fall. ome Just in case you need a reminder, Edgar Wright is the same guy behind cult favorites like the Cornetto Trilogy and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. His last movie, Last Night in Soho came out back in 2021 and had him embracing the horror genre, but now he's back to snappy action, and this time he has rising star Glen Powell as well as a former collaborator in the form of Michael Cera. Admittedly, Wright has been taking it slow when it comes to his recent projects, but this could be a great comeback. He was also said to have been in the running to direct the next Bond movie; but unfortunately he lost that to Denis Villeneuve. Personally, I have my fingers crossed that Wright eventually comes back to Marvel and helms a rebooted Guardians of the Galax y trilogy. I mean, if he's not interested in Star Wars , maybe a GOTG film would be the next best thing for a director of his brand. Watch out for The Running Man when it comes to cinemas on Nov. 7.
