An eight-year-old girl is in a serious condition in hospital after a crash in Dumfries and Galloway.
The incident happened at around 10.50am on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, on the A747 Glenluce to Glasserton road near Monreith.
It involved a black Mitsubishi L200 car and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, an eight-year-old girl, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment, where she remains in a serious condition. There were no other injuries.
The road was closed for around eight hours to allow enquiries to be carried out.
Road Policing Sergeant Colin Ramage said: 'Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I would appeal to any witnesses to please contact police.
'In addition, drivers with dashcam footage around the time of the incident are asked to come forward as this may assist with our enquiries.'

Traffic cops are appealing for vital information following a crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire. The incident happened shortly before 1.30pm on Sunday, June 29, on the A735, Kilmaurs Road, north of the Altonhill roundabout. Officers said the car involved in the collision was a white Volkswagen Tiguan. Emergency crews raced to the scene. After that, an 18-year-old woman, who was the pedestrian, was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment. She has since been discharged. Following the incident, the road was closed for several hours while cops probed the crash. Now, they are urging anyone with information on the collision to get in touch.
