Amazon slashes £95 'exquisite' perfume in 200ml bottle to £20
As part of Amazon's latest big Prime sale event, perfume fans can get their hands on their favourite scents for a fraction of their usual cost this week. The event, which is taking place from 8-11 July, is exclusively for Prime members and offers thousands of discounts on various items, including beauty products and best-selling perfumes.
One of the best deals currently available is on Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely Eau de Parfum. The fragrance comes in a huge 200ml bottle, and although this would usually set shoppers back £95.79, they can get it for £20.50 until Friday, July 11.
The 'captivating' women's perfume starts with a 'gentle' blend of citrus, rosewood and lavender. It then 'unfolds' with hints of apple martini and orchid, grounded by base notes of white amber, cedar wood and 'sultry' musks.
Amazon says the perfume is "delicate yet instantly recognisable" and "effortlessly transitions from day to night." The "soft" pink bottle is said to be reminiscent of a ballerina's slipper, and the scent is described as "exquisite" and "perfect for those who love intimate, feminine fragrances".
Besides Amazon, there are plenty of other places selling similar floral perfumes. Argos has a 75ml bottle of Hugo Boss Femme Eau de Parfum on sale for £34 - down from £68. Boots is offering a 50ml bottle of Calvin Klein Eternity Moment for Women Eau de Parfum for £22, it was £59. You can even get Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely from Superdrug for £24, but it is only for a 150ml bottle.
On Amazon, Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely Eau de Parfum has racked up an average customer score of 4.6 stars out of five, with 83% of reviewers leaving five-star comments. Most customers find the perfume has a floral scent and consider it a great value.
The fragrance quality receives largely positive feedback, and customers appreciate it as a gift option. Regarding longevity, opinions are mixed - while some say it lasts most of the day, others report it only lasts about five minutes.
One person said: "I wear this perfume every day for work and have had a lot of people ask what it is as it smells so nice. Good value for money." A second put: "200ml looks a lot. Bottle v simple. Scent v flowery n subtle. The scent gets nicer as it evaporates into warm skin. Would I recommend it, probably for daytime around the house. The scent doesn't last that long but is v nice."
A third wrote: "The smell is very refreshing! It's beautiful. I get many compliments on the smell." A fourth said: "An absolute gem of a fragrance! I wear as my work perfume and also everyday fragrance. It's light and flowery but NOT overpowering which is ideal when working in the NHS."
They added: "People comment in this all the time, and because it is EDP it lasts all day! I have been buying this for 17+ years and it never fails to make me feel fab!! 200ml EPD for less than £25. Just a bargain!" However, one person claimed: "Used to be a lovely long lasting scent, not an Eau de Parfum Spray lasts about 5 min and the scent has changed too."
Someone else put: "Very disappointed with product no smell not what am used to smelling very watery." Another said: "Very bad smell." Nonetheless, another said: "Best perfume ever." Someone else said: "Amazing fragrance! It lasts a good number of hours and doesn't wear off quickly. If you love a good floral scent, this is for you!"

Amazon overhauls Wondery podcast studio, cuts 110 jobs
Aug 4 (Reuters) - (AMZN.O), opens new tab is restructuring the Wondery podcast studio by shifting its award-winning narrative podcasts such as "Business Wars" to Audible and consolidating creator-led shows into a new unit, according to a memo seen by Reuters. About 110 employees will be laid off as part of the process, while many Wondery employees will transition to other parts of Amazon, the company said in an emailed statement on Monday. Wondery CEO Jen Sargent will depart the company following a transition period, the memo said. Intense competition in the expensive podcast industry as well as a growing focus on creator-led video content have prompted audio streaming companies including Spotify (SPOT.N), opens new tab to diversify their podcasts as they look to lower costs and attract more users to their platforms. "As video podcasting has grown in popularity, we have learned that creator-led, video-integrated shows have different audience needs and require distinct discovery, growth and monetization strategies compared to audio-first, narrative series," Steve Boom, vice president of audio, Twitch and games at Amazon, wrote in the memo. Wondery was acquired by Amazon in 2021 and has seen podcast revenue quadruple since then as the studio expanded its slate to include video podcasts and creator-driven series, according to the memo. Under the new structure, Wondery's narrative podcast studio - home to shows such as "Dr. Death" and "American Scandal" - along with the Wondery+ subscription service, will move to Audible, the e-commerce giant's audio platform. Its creator-focused podcast team that produces shows including "Mind the Game", "New Heights", and "Armchair Expert" will join a new Creator Services group within Amazon's Talent Services division. This new team will continue to operate the creator-focused podcast studio under the Wondery brand. "By making these changes, we can better support creators in monetizing their content across multiple channels," Amazon said. Bloomberg News first reported on the Wondery overhaul.

People 'always get compliments' on £25 Britney Spears' perfume
The pop star's 'sweet and feminine' perfume is currently half price at Boots Shoppers have declared there is 'nothing not to like' about a pop star's fragrance, which is currently available at Boots. The online-exclusive offer drops almost £25 off the price of the perfume which has kept fans for decades. Boots is currently running a deal that offers half-price across some of Britney Spears' fragrance collection, including Fantasy, which the store carries. The 50% reduction applies to all bottle sizes of the gorgeous pink perfume, including the 100ml edition, which typically sells for £49 but is now priced at £24.50. The health and beauty retailer's website characterises Fantasy as "alive with enchantment and rich with the thrill of the chase.", reports the Mirror. It combines red lychee, golden quince, and kiwi with jasmine petals, white chocolate, and sensual woods to create a "light, feminine scent." The fruity fragrance comes housed in a striking pink bottle adorned with Swarovski crystals. The original Fantasy has remained a fan favourite since its launch as one of Britney's initial fragrance collaborations in 2005. Subsequently, it has been reimagined with new variants, including Fantasy Twist, Circus Fantasy, and others—each featuring distinctive scent profiles. Similar celebrity fragrances can be found at other retailers, such as Katy Perry's "sweet and playful" Purr Eau de Parfum, available for £15.95 at Amazon, and Sabrina Carpenter's Cherry Baby EDP, available for £20.99 at Superdrug. However, the deal for the Toxic singer's fragrance is something customers have been praising for years - judging by the hundreds of positive reviews from Boots shoppers. One said: "This has been my favourite perfume for such a long time. The smaller one is perfect for your bag." Another added: "Perfect sweet floral smell and lasts all day. I have had this for years since it came out, love it." A third put: "I've tried quite a few Britney fragrances and I have to say I've liked all of them - and this one is no exception! It's really lovely and not too heavy for the daytime. Nothing not to like!" Yet, not all customers were satisfied. One claimed: "This was always my go to perfume but it does not smell like it used to, it's not as strong candied smell it's more a floral smell now that does not last." Another suggested: "This does not last long at all." A third also warned: "Not good at all. The smell does not stay at all!" And one more recently put: "This was always my go-to perfume but it does not smell like it used to. It's not [got] a strong candied smell, it's more a floral smell now that does not last." Despite these remarks, someone else described the perfume as "absolutely gorgeous," whilst a second shared: "This is one of my favourite scents. It's sweet and smells like candy. It lasts throughout the day, and I always get compliments with it."
