B Praak Slams Diljit Dosanjh Over Hania Aamir Controversy? Says 'Apna Zameer Hi Bech...'
Even though B Praak did not name anyone in his post, the timing of his note has left netizens wondering if he is slamming Diljit Dosanjh.
Looks like Punjabi singer B Praak has taken a dig at her fellow singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. The latter has been facing backlash for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his movie Sardaar Ji 3. Amid all this, B Praak recently took to his Instagram stories and penned down a cryptic note.
The Mann Bharrya singer wrote, 'Kayin artist apna zameer hi bech chuke ne. Fitte muh tuhade 🤮👎🏼" This roughly translates to, 'Some artists have sold their conscience." Even though B Praak did not name anyone in his post, the timing of his note has left netizens wondering if he is slamming Diljit Dosanjh.
Why Is Diljit Dosanjh Facing Backlash?
Diljit Dosanjh has been facing backlash and boycott calls in India for featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his next movie, Sardaar Ji 3. Recently, BN Tiwari, President of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), slammed Diljit for working with Hania, and demanded a complete ban on all his projects.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, FWICE President said that they are imposing a strict ban on all future films, songs, and projects involving him. 'We have called for a strict ban on all upcoming films, songs or any other sort of projects. We will also issue a formal letter on the same today. Along with Diljit, we have also called for a ban on the producers of the film regarding all their upcoming films," he said.
Later, it was announced that while Sardaar Ji 3, directed by Amar Hundal, is set for an overseas release on June 27, it will not be released in Indian theatres.
While Diljit has not reacted to the controversy as of now, he recently spoke to Grammy with Recording Academy President Panos A. Panay, in which he said that music unites nations, and that he feels people need to look beyond nations and focus on Mother Earth.
'Countries are at war, and we don't have control over these things. But I believe music is something that unites nations. I feel blessed to be part of something that spreads love across nations," he said.
