Daniella Westbrook wedding 'on the cards' to 'soulmate' ex-addict boxer

Daily Mirror24-05-2025
Things appear to be hotting up between Daniella Westbrook and her bare knuckle fighter boyfriend Charlie Symonds - with a source claiming marriage is even on the cards
Danniella Westbrook has had her fair share of life dramas – but after going public with a new man, a source claims she's in a 'love bubble' and 'ready to commit'. The actress, who joined EastEnders at 16 years old and played Sam Mitchell on and off until 2016, appeared to be smitten with bare knuckle boxer Charlie 'Chasa Real Talk' Symonds on a sun-soaked break to Greece.
Danniella and Chasa are believed to have been friends for six years, but have clearly taken their relationship to a new level and were seen packing on the PDAs. The mum of two, 51, was beaming as she and Croydon-born Charlie kissed and splashed around in the water. And now a source claims exclusively to OK! that what started as a close friendship has grown into something much deeper – and they've already talked about next steps.

'Danniella feels that she's found her soulmate. Chasa doesn't judge her one bit and doesn't care what has happened in her past. He understands all about the issues she's been through but is supportive – he just wants to make her happy. She's really smitten and feels like she can trust him, which is a really big deal for her.
'This is something she's prayed for for a long time, it could be something special. She is thinking about marriage and definitely wants to tie the knot with him, it's a no brainer for her and she's ready to commit fully. They're in a love bubble so wedding bells are definitely on the cards.'
It's been more than two decades since Danniella's nasal septum collapsed from excessive cocaine use, and she revealed a few years ago that she was still trying to repair the damage caused, as well as the effects of osteoporosis. Her appearance has since changed dramatically thanks to corrective surgeries, but our source claims she would happily go under the knife again to achieve bridal perfection, adding: 'She would definitely have more surgery and get some tweaks before getting married, she's very much dedicated to repairing her looks and looking the best she can.
'She's already had a lot of operations, but she wants to go on until she feels content. Now she's found 'the one' she wants to make sure she's looking her best.' The former Dancing On Ice star, who has battled addiction for much of her adult life, revealed that her life had'changed dramatically' since losing her dad in January 2024, and she'd 'pulled herself back from the brink again.' She wrote on her socials last month: 'I got myself back into recovery and [have] taken the right opportunities that have come and do come my way. I feel so grateful, blessed and useful.'
She gave her intrigued fans a peek into her budding romance when she hinted in another recent snap of the pair that 'a holiday romance was brewing', and that 'it may just become an everlasting love'. Charlie, 42, is a retired English professional welterweight boxer and is currently signed to Conor McGregor 's Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he walks into the ring as the 'Croydon Bomber'

The pair are believed to have reconnected in Dubai at the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships) where Chasa was competing – and have been enjoying quality time together since. He opened up last year about his own experiences of drugs, confessing he'd 'gone down a dark road' but had been in recovery for more than seven years since hitting rock bottom.
After going public, it seems Charlie and Danniella's fans are especially keen to see them go the distance. On one of the most recent snaps of them on Instagram, one follower urged the bare knuckle fighter to 'wife that one up, bro' – to which they both replied with red heart and hand-clapping emojis. Another person added: 'Please stay together forever' while another wrote: 'I've not seen you two so happy in a long time, long may it continue.'
Things also seem to be looking up for Danniella when it comes to her relationship with her two children – Kai and Jodie – who she's been estranged from at various points in their lives. In 2023, the actress claimed she was heartbroken after her grown-up daughter Jodie, who she shares with ex husband Kevin Jenkins, had 'cut' her out of her life with no explanations.
After a few followers posted on Jodie's social media urging her to get back in touch with her mum, she responded with a polite: 'If you don't know the situation please don't comment, thank you.' But it seems time can be a great healer and as of last month, things appeared to be improving. 'Having both my children back in contact with me and rebuilding what I broke is something I never thought I would get a chance to do,' Danniella said.
'The blessings just keep on coming one day at a time.' Our source says the TV star takes full responsibility for what's happened in the past but is determined to get things back on track. 'She's learned from her past mistakes, she's back in touch with her daughter and is so happy about it. She'll do everything she can to make sure things remain positive between them.' Hopefully Danniella gets the happiness she wants .

Actress is a dead ringer for Rita Ora after makeover can you guess who it is?

An actress looked a dead ringer for Rita Ora after a recent makeover as she posed for a photoshoot on Thursday. Modelling her own line of clothing on the streets of Manchester, she wore a cream blazer with a daring plunge neckline. She teamed the piece with matching shorts and added a pair of stiletto heels to complete her outfit. Mirroring Rita, she accessorised with some tinted, oversized, square sunglasses. Known for her role in a popular soap, this actress has also starred on a number of reality TV shows and competitions. Can you guess who it is? It's Chelsee Healy! The Hollyoaks actress, who plays Goldie McQueen on the Channel 4 soap, has also starred on Waterloo Road. Earlier this year, she competed on Dancing On Ice but became the first celebrity to be eliminated from the programme after being voted off in a skate-off against Comedian Josh Jones. Just four days before she was eliminated from the show, Eddie Rainford, the father of her daughter pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug between November 2022 and September 2023. In June, Chelsee watched on at Manchester Crown Court as he was warned he's facing jail for his role in a 'wholesale' drug-dealing operation. She had attempted to keep his full identity hidden on social media, only referring to her now ex-partner - who is dad of her 15-month-old daughter Cookie - as Eddie. The actress even hinted at a troubling time away from the cameras during her exit from Dancing On Ice, remarking: 'There has been a lot going on with me that I have been struggling with.' A source told The Sun: 'What Chelsee was desperately coping with while on the show was that her partner, the father of her youngest daughter, was in court for drug-dealing and has been sent to prison on remand.' While a separate insider informed the publication that the soap star was no longer in a relationship with Eddie. In March last year, Chelsee dropped a huge hint that they had secretly got married. The Hollyoaks star made reference to having a 'husband' as she shared a snap of a meal that had been cooked for her. She shared the picture of the plate of food and wrote: 'Sticky chilli steak coconut rice home made by the husband.' The actress - who plays Goldie McQueen on the Channel 4 soap - made no further elaboration of her comment. Chelsee's ex-partner was pictured for the first time after her co-star shared a snap - after she had previously kept the identity of her man under wraps. However, her Hollyoaks co-star Richard Blackwood gave the game away as he shared a series of snaps from Chelsee's baby shower - with one of them including Chelsea cuddling up to Eddie. Weeks before she'd given birth, Chelsee shared a picture of herself with Eddie, but she was posed in front of him, shielding his identity. Chelsee has since happily shown Eddie's face on her social media, with a snap on her Instagram showing herself and Eddie in matching cream outfits while holding their baby daughter Cookie - whom they welcomed in December 2023. Speaking about her decision not to publicly disclose the baby's father in summer she told Closer Magazine: 'This is the most supportive relationship I've ever been in. 'My friends and family love him, and he's the first bloke I've introduced Coco to, which says a lot. 'I knew he was The One within three to four months. I've kissed a few frogs, but he's definitely marriage material.' She added: 'In some past relationships I've never felt safe, they felt toxic and a little bit abusive, but with him it's completely different. I just want someone who brings me peace and is drama-free and this feels right. He's six years younger but has a mature head on his shoulders.' Chelsee also has an older daughter Coco, seven, from her relationship with ex Jack Malloy.

Where Coronation Street fans have seen Aunty Rani before as actress makes soap comeback

Coronation Street viewers have been introduced to Rani Alahan, the Aunt of Dev Alahan, but the actress has actually been on the programme before on several occasions. Coronation Street viewers have been introduced to Rani Alahan, the aunt of Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin), who has arrived just in time for his wedding to Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove). She quickly caused a stir at number seven as she set about taking control of the nuptials and the bride-to-be adopted a posh accent in a bid to impress her. ‌ The character is played by Josephine Lloyd-Welcome and, while she is now taking on a whole new role, this is not the first time she has been seen walking the cobbles of the nation's most famous street. ‌ From 2004 until 2009, she appeared on an intermittent basis as Doctor Patel and was initially seen on-screen with Dev and Sunita Alahan (Shobna Gulati) as she delivered the results of his then-wife's blood tests prior to her brain tumour diagnosis. ‌ Following that, she shared scenes with legendary matriarch Gail Platt (Helen Worth) and Jerry Morton (Michael Starke), when her character visited the former kebab shop owner following a health scare. In 2010, she appeared as an unnamed doctor who checked on Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), who is her new character's great-niece, for suspected meningitis. And in 2012, she was seen Raveena Bhatia, who was the boss of Marcus Dent (Charlie Condou) when he worked as a midwife at Weatherfield General. ‌ At the time, she played a part in his storyline that saw the openly gay character having an affair with Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon), and she spotted them both together in the Bistro. But Josephine's new part comes as Weatherfield businessman Dev, who first appeared on the soap in 1999, made a comeback after six months away. As well as her various stints on Coronation Street, Josephine has also appeared in a wealth of other British television staples throughout her lengthy career. Earlier this year, she appeared as Devika Babu in the penultimate episode of the latest episode of Doctor Who alongside Ncuti Gatwa, and she has also starred in episodes of Not Going Out, EastEnders, Doctors, Casualty, and Holby City. In 2021, she appeared the regular role of Rainbow on the Nickelodeon sitcom Goldie's Oldies. In 1980, she appeared in six episodes of Agony, the sitcom that made a star out of Dame Maureen Lipman, who now plays Evelyn Plummer on Coronation Street. Away from the screen, Josephine has also enjoyed an illustrious career on stage and has tread the boards in productions of Kinky Boots, The Mousetrap and Top Girls. ‌ But Josephine is not the only soap star to have appeared in Coronation Street in various roles before making a comeback in a regular part. Way back in the early days of the show, Jean Alexander played landlady Mrs Webb over the course of two episodes before rejoining in her signature role as the iconic Hilda Ogden. Similarly, Beverley Callard played the one-off part of June Dewhurst, a friend of Gail and Brian Tilsley in the early 1980s before she truly made her mark on the programme as Rovers Return landlady Liz McDonald. Years later, Lisa George played a family liaison officer on more than one occasion before she arrived to play feisty knicker stitcher Beth Sutherland from 2011, and Catherine Tyldesley, who is thought to be making a comeback as former barmaid Eva Price, played a midwife before she landed what became her most famous role. ‌ And in 2004, Alison King played a bored housewife known only as Mrs Fanshaw, who seduced builder Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) before she returned two years later to take on the role of no-nonsense factory boss Carla Connor. What's more, Jane Hazlegrove first joined the cast as a teenager when she played Sue Clayton in the early 1980s. Her character's family became involved in a dispute with Jack and Vera Duckworth before they left, and the actress came back more than two decades later to take on the part of Bernie. Aunty Rani's debut on the programme comes just as Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) is set to leave. We haven't got an exit date yet for the character, but with his father Dev Alahan returning to Weatherfield after months offscreen, amid two big twists for his son, it seems it could be soon. ‌ Aadi was caught up in drama just weeks ago when he planned to take LSD at a party only for someone else to unknowingly take it. That person, Lauren Bolton, nearly died and has yet to find out Aadi was involved. He's been trying to make amends by helping her out, and in upcoming scenes they grow closer - with this no doubt set to end in heartache. Also, Aadi was the victim of theft last week when someone robbed the shop. Of course it soon emerged that Aadi had staged the whole thing, with the help of troubled teen Brody Michaelis. Brody took off with the money, or so it was assumed as Aadi claimed £6,000 was taken. ‌ He was later forced to confess to his stepmother Bernie Winter that this was the amount he was in debt after taking out a loan. He'd taken the money from the safe to pay off said loan, hoping the robbery would allow them to claim on the insurance. Next week the drama continues when Aadi realises the insurance company won't pay out. With the money gone, surely it's only a matter of time before he's forced to explain all to his father Dev. Aadi is facing big trouble once he's exposed for both the staged robbery and the LSD spiking, not to mention the betrayal towards his family with the theft of their money to fix his mistake, without telling anyone. With it confirmed Aadi is leaving the show soon, will this all lead to him leaving home for good?
