Andy Murray's luxury five-star Cromlix resort serves up a double win at Hotel Oscars
The Wimbledon winner bagged trophies in two different categories for the luxury resort

He may have retired from playing tennis, but Andy Murray is still winning trophies – this time with his wife Kim for their hotel Cromlix.
The Oscars of the hotel world were presented to the very best in Scotland in a lavish ceremony in Glasgow on Thursday night marking the latest edition of the hotly contested, highly-valued Innis and Gunn Prestige Hotel Awards.

Finalists from all over Scotland attended the ceremony which was hosted by Des Clarke and saw the cream of the hospitality industry attend.
Cromlix was crowned Best Boutique Hotel, beating off challenges from Brambles of Inveraray and The Leddie in Aberlady, East Lothian, which were both highly recommended.
The hotel, a Victorian Mansion build in 1874 in Dunblane, Stirlingshire, also picked up the award for Best Historic Hotel, seeing off Dalmunzie Castle Hotel in Blairgowrie, Dornock Castle Hotel in Dornock and Mabie House Hotel in Dumfries.
Cromlix has just 15 rooms and suites, all individually decorated and costing upwards from £390 a night, as well as a self-contained Gatehouse Lodge, perfect for families.
Of course there's tennis courts and guests can get borrow rackets to hit a few balls around- there's even private coaching on offer but not from Sir Andy, sadly.
Twice-Wimbledon winner Andy, 38 and Kim, 37, bought Cromlix in 2012 for a reported £1,8 million and tied the knot there three years last.
The couple didn't attend in order to let their team enjoy the spotlight of the wins, including general manager Barry Makin, who was highly recommended in the Best GM category
Cromlix was named hotel of the year in the 2024 AA Hospitality Awards and just weeks later the hotel's Glasshouse restaurant was awarded a prestigious Michelin Key.
It was also crowned Independent Hotel of the Year at the Scottish Excellence Awards last year.
Awards Director Warren Paul said at the ceremony: 'Of course there's a lot of eyes on Cromlix thanks to the Murrays but for us and our title sponsors Innis and Gunn, every winner or Highly Recommended recipient here is a star.

The Amada Colossos in Rhodes is one of the most popular hotels on the island and as the name suggests, it's a massive complex but incredibly still feels intimate and welcoming. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 5 The Amada Colossos in Rhodes is one of the most popular hotels Credit: Supplied 5 The Amada has just under 700 rooms Credit: Supplied 5 The bedroom had tonnes of space, with all the mod cons and a sensational orthopaedic mattress Credit: Supplied I was a tad weary after a day's travelling, but I immediately perked up when I sampled the luxurious hospitality there as I sipped fizz and had a nibble in the fancy Executive Lounge. The Amada has just under 700 rooms, across 17 different types, so depending on your budget and preference there's definitely a room for you. My Sea View Executive Suite was simply out of this world. It had a walk-in wardrobe like something you see on a celebs pad on TV — I hadn't packed anywhere near enough holiday clobber to do it justice. The main living area was spot on with a big comfy sofa, ideal to kick back on, and a giant flat screen TV to catch up on world events, watch a movie or just tune into the resort's info. It also had a packed mini bar of alcoholic and soft drinks, which was constantly topped up by the fantastic staff. The balcony overlooked the stunning beach and was the perfect place to relax first thing in the morning with a cuppa, or last thing at night with a nightcap from the minibar. And the sprawling bedroom? What can I say . . . it had tonnes of space, with all the mod cons and a sensational orthopaedic mattress which was a struggle to rise from in the morning. And the bathroom had a brilliant and welcoming power shower to wash away the day's exertions. I love a pampering, and often treat myself to a massage back home, so you can imagine my delight on discovering the Amada Colossos' incredible spa. I chilled in the steam room and sauna before I was treated to an hour-long full body massage that was one of the best I've ever had. I'm sure I didn't look it, but I certainly felt like a Greek God! However, if you fancy something a bit more active then the hotel's water park is ideal for the young — and the young at heart. The Peloponnese penninsula - an underrated Greek holiday destination Now we all know Greece is renowned for its food and the offerings at the hotel doesn't disappoint. the only problem I encountered was choosing where to eat. After all, with a choice of over a dozen restaurants and bars and only a few days to sample them, I had to choose wisely. The main buffet seemed popular with all the guests so I headed there and enjoyed both delicious local and international dishes. If you can't find something here you like then I don't know how to help you! Then there's the tempting Italian eaterie, serving up a la carte options including the simply wonderful Carpaccio di Vitello Tonnato and Caponata di Melanzana — that's veal with tuna sauce and a Sicilian dish of fried aubergine with tomatoes and capers. Prepare to be transported to the Italian countryside. The tantalising fine-dining Asian restaurant's incredible degustation menu took us on a journey across the Far East. It's fabulous for non-meat eaters and vegans too with an array of choices. But one dining highlight among many was being treated to an al fresco dinner near the beach one night, sampling the divine tasting menu of fish and meat dishes as the sun set. It was just incredible. I always think you can't beat eating and living how a local would, and we certainly did that at Votsala, their Greek Taverna by the Sea. It was sensational. The crumbed feta and the freshest of salads got the taste buds going, accompanied with an abundance of bread and olive oil. The selection of locally produced dishes like giant beans in oil and veg, octopus, cheese balls, and the beef kofte were the business. It was one of the best lunches I've had on all my travels and I didn't want it to end. After stuffing my face, I just wanted to relax and at the Amada Colossos there's that in abundance. 5 Gerry found out what ancient monuments Lindos had to offer 5 The Amada Colossas resort beach Credit: Supplied The giant pool area and the adjoining beach are the perfect places to unwind and soak up the rays with the fantastic backdrop of the inviting Aegean Sea. Normally I can barely stretch myself awake when I get up in the morning, so I was a little bit worried after I signed up for my first outdoor yoga class - but I loved it! Before I knew it, I was getting my creaking bones into all sorts of positions under the guidance of our talented instructor. It was a super relaxing start to the day, just as the morning rays started to beat down on me and set me up nicely for a packed day of visiting some of Rhodes' most incredible sights. First we headed to Lindos, one of the most popular villages and no wonder. It's simply stunning and oozes traditional charm. A short journey from the centre of Rhodes, its hilltop site, with panoramic views shows off the island's beauty. The white buildings stand out from miles away, glistening majestically in the Greek sunshine. There are several restaurants and boutique shops accessed by tiny winding paths all the way through the village. But the absolute highlight here has to be the Lindos Acropolis. Sure, it might not be as familiar as its namesake in Athens, but it's just as breathtaking. The incredible temple towers over the area and is quite literally steeped in thousands of years of history. The hotel also offers half-board and ultra all-inclusive. See Our tour guide was excellent and gave us all the information we needed to learn about the past. It's a decent hike of around 300 steps, but it is definitely worth the effort. It's not every day you get to enjoy see an incredible piece of history that dates back to the 10th century BC. Below the stunning hillside architecture is St Paul's Bay, blessed with crystal clear waters and a lovely beach and that's just where we made a beeline for a dip and a walk on the fine golden sands. After a packed morning of sight-seeing, it was time to refuel and soak up some more Grecian sunshine while at lunch at The Kapari — a Fish & Sea restaurant, flanking the beach in the town of Kolympia. I felt like like I was in my own little slice of paradise as I listened to the mesmerising sound of the waves wash up on the shore, while enjoying a crisp cold glass of local white wine. We had an endless supply of delicious dishes including calamari, risotto and salads. What a way to celebrate a fabulous day venturing and exploring just a tiny bit of the less familiar ancient monuments Rhodes has to offer. Whether you want an action packed or chilled break, Rhodes is an amazing island with so much to discover. And the Amada Colossus will ensure you have a monumental time.

Aberdeen secure stunning £8MILLION funding deal as Dave Cormack vows to keep pace with Premiership rivals

The Dons chairman, director Tom Crotty and behind-the-scenes investors will fund a new indoor 4G pitch at Cormack Park and major improvements at Pittodrie. And Cormack has promised to keep Aberdeen at the forefront of Scottish game after the 49ers Enterprises' £20m investment in Rangers and Tony Bloom's £10m boost for Hearts. Cormack beamed: 'We continue to make good progress towards achieving long-term financial sustainability of the club with record season ticket sales, AberDNA memberships and markedly increased commercial and retail revenues. 'Combined with the additional funds generated, successful player trading is integral to this goal and remains a major factor in our recruitment. 'We have spent the last 12 months studying the market and refining our strategy in this area. 'This has complemented some of the squad planning work that we have undertaken, which in part has highlighted the need for adjustments in our own structures and the need for additional capital and operational investments if we are to continue to make progress and challenge ourselves to drive more success on and off the field. 'Together with our investors, I remain committed to driving Aberdeen forward and continuing to make our supporters and the region proud of its football club.' It's understood Cormack has personally put in £4m on the new sum with Crotty also investing heavily in the plan. The £8m will mainly be used for capital projects at Cormack Park, including the planned construction of a new full-sized indoor arena - with work to start in the New Year. Aberdeen fans react to historic Scottish Cup win The vision is for a new covered 4G facility for all-year-round use. Works will also take place at Pittodrie, including improved floodlights and corporate lounges as the club plans for a medium-term stay at their current home. Dons chief executive Alan Burrows added: 'This latest injection of funding takes the total investment from Dave, Tom and their colleagues to over £25m in the last few years. 'We're incredibly grateful to our investors for the new funds, which will provide a significant portion of the capital required for these improvements at Cormack Park and our stadium, while also being able to continue to invest in the squad and the football operation. 'Our training facility at Cormack Park is fantastic, and the addition of a full-sized, indoor arena and additional operational space will take it to a whole new level, opening new possibilities for our men's, women's, academy and community programmes. 'In addition, we have recently been able to more than double the investment in our scouting and talent ID department across the continent. The policy says that if my fridge stops working Currys will come and fix it within seven days, if not, I could get a replacement. I called Currys and it sent an engineer to check what was causing the issue. After a few days I called Currys again and a man came to my home to fix my fridge. He said it couldn't be fixed so Curry would send me a new one. But I haven't heard anything from them since. I really needed a working fridge so I contacted another company. I paid £360 for a new fridge freezer, which was delivered the next day. I've wasted £36 and am now hundreds of pounds out of pocket. Can you help? Kathryn Cudmore, Lincolnshire. A. Your plan with Currys promised care and repair but you received neither when your fridge unexpectedly stopped working. I was disappointed to hear that Currys had fallen below its usually high standards. The Care and Repair policy promises breakdown support when you need it. Once you have signed up you should be able to contact Currys as soon as a device breaks. The company is so confident in its ability that if it takes more than a week to repair your appliance then you can get a replacement for free. Meanwhile, if the device can't be repaired then Currys will give you a gift card so you can get a new one. This is what you were told when the repair man came to your house. Despite these promises Currys left you out in the cold - which was more than could be said for your fridge freezer. I wanted to get your issue resolved as soon as possible so I put your case to Currys. A spokesperson apologised and said it was not the level of service Currys prides itself on. You have been sent a cheque for £333.32, which includes the value of the voucher, refund for your policy, original delivery, installation charges and the cost to recycle the old product. I am so glad the money is back with you. It is always worth complaining to a company if its service falls below the levels you were promised. Make a note of the date and time you made any calls to a company's customer service. You should also save any letters or emails you receive to use as evidence. Squeeze Team total: £223,150.
