Himachal CM dedicates Rs 119.51 crore development projects in Bangana
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 7 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday dedicated development projects worth Rs 119.51 crore in the Bangana sub-division, marking a significant boost to infrastructure, healthcare, education, and water supply, as per an official release.
The Chief Minister also participated as the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony of the three-day Piplu Fair.
Prior to the event, Sukhu joined the traditional Shobha Yatra and addressed the gathering at Bhalethi, where he highlighted the cultural importance of such fairs and encouraged local farmers to adopt natural farming to enhance economic well-being.
According to the release, development initiatives included the inauguration of key projects such as the Rs 2.12 crore Executive Engineer Divisional Office Building at Thanakalan, Rs 61.51 lakh Water Quality and Monitoring Training Centre at Barnoh, Rs 2.44 crore building for Government Senior Secondary School in Jathehri, Rs 1.45 crore Primary Health Centre at Chamyari, and Rs 93.69 lakh for four classrooms at Government Senior Secondary School in Mandli.
Infrastructure projects like the Rs 10.31 crore Olinda-Bohru link road, Rs 12.22 crore roads from Saili to Handola via Kamoon Patti and from Saili Mahadev Temple via GPS Lubowal, and Rs 10.73 crore Rural Livelihood Centre building in Bangana were also inaugurated.
Foundation stones were laid for upgrades to lift drinking water schemes worth Rs 2.35 crore in six villages, a Rs 10.59 crore irrigation scheme in Boul and Moh Khas, and rainwater harvesting structures costing Rs 7.20 crore across four locations.
Further, the Chief Minister laid the foundation for a Rs 6.72 crore residential complex for the State Taxes and Excise Enforcement Office at Una, Rs 5.98 crore for road projects connecting Khuruni to Khairian via multiple villages, Rs 10.44 crore under NABARD for bridge construction in five areas, and Rs 33.59 crore for road construction from Bhiyambi to Barsar.
The event saw the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and MLA Vivek Sharma. (ANI)

HC sets aside GO 126 allotting 3.7 acres for International Arbitration Centre
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court division bench of Justices Kunuru Lakshman and Kalasikam Sujana on Friday 'set aside' GO 126, dated December 26-2021, allotting 3.7-acre prime land worth crores, located in Plot no.27, Survey no. 83/1, Raidurg village, Serilingampally mandal, RR district to the International Arbitration and Mediation Centre, Hyderabad. Though the court upheld GO 76 dated November 12 sanctioning Rs. 3 crore to meet the day-to-day expenditure of the centre and GO 6, dated March 17, 2022 wherein the Chief Secretary directed all departments and public sector undertakings to refer all its disputes above 3 crore to the IAMC for arbitration. The bench passed orders setting aside GO allotting 3.7 acres to IAMC, while adjudicating two PILs. The first PIL was filed by Koti Raghuntha Rao, party-in-person; the other was filed by A Venkatarami Reddy, a retired employee. The bench concluded the IAMC--which has been functioning since 2021--performance is abysmal. It expressed deep concern regarding its performance in future. As on January 29 this year the IAMC took up only 15 cases of which 11 were conducted pro-bono; only 57 mediation cases were conducted; of them 17 were conducted pro-bono. The bench cautioned the government to examine incurring of costs by referring cases to IAMC; directed the government to alter its policy of referring cases to IAMC, if costs prove a burden to the exchequer. The bench opined that it is the policy decision of the government to extend financial assistance to a new institution like IAMC at initial stage, but as time goes by, IAMC has to sustain itself financially. But going by its performance for the last five years, the bench stated that its sustenance is difficult in the long run. The bench referred to setting up of 'ICADR' (International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution) centre formed by the Government of India in 1995 to promote arbitration, but due to its abysmal performance, despite financial support, ICADR could not deliver results. The court hoped the IAMC does not go the ICADR way. Both PILs were closed.

CM urged to take all-party team to New Delhi to apprise PM on BC bill
Hyderabad: The BRS leaders on Friday demanded the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to take the all party delegation to New Delhi and take up local body elections only after providing 42 per cent reservations to the BCs. Addressing a press conference here at Telangana Bhavan along with party leaders Ch Rakesh, Kishore Goud and MP V Ravichandra, the Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council S Madhusudana Chari said that Revanth Reddy's is known for giving promises and later forgetting them. CM Revanth Reddy is acting contrary to the promise he gave in the Legislative Council on 42 per cent reservation for BCs in local elections. Revanth broke his word by promising to take an all-party delegation to Delhi for the approval of the BC Bill. Despite going to Delhi many times, CM Revanth Reddy did not discuss the BC bill with PM Modi. Revanth is going to Delhi only to give kick backs. It has become clear that he has no sincerity towards the BCs. He said that even Ponnam Prabhakar had made several comments on BC Reservations. Ponnam Prabhakar is being made a scapegoat by the CM. The Congress party has never loved BCs. The Congress has a history of setting up commissions for BCs but failed to implement their reports. Madhusudhana Chari alleged that the Congress made false statements in the Kamareddy Declaration just for the votes of BCs in the elections. The Congress has given nothing to BCs even after two budgets. They said that Rs 20,000 crore will be allocated to BCs in the budget every year. They did not keep that promise. They cheated them by saying that there will be 42 per cent reservation in six months. The Congress party has no sincerity in anything. The BJP also has no concern for BCs. The central government has done nothing for BCs in eleven years. The BC ministry has not even been set up. Allocations in the budgets have also been reduced. He said that the elections should be held only after giving 42 per cent reservation to BCs in local body elections. MP V Ravi Chandra said that the Congress made many promises to BCs for votes in the elections but after coming to power, it forgot to implement the promises made to BCs.

BJP dubs Congress' renaming spree as ‘names change sarkar'
Hyderabad: The BJP in Telangana dubbed the 18-month-old Congress-led government as a 'Name's Change Sarkar' for failing to deliver on its promises. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar said 'Telangana Congress promised Change,' However, 'in 18 months, all it delivered was Name Changes.' On Friday, the Karimnagar MP, taking a dig at the State government for changing the name of the Rs 5 meal scheme named after 'Annapurna' to Indira Gandhi, said, 'Universities renamed. Hospitals renamed. Irrigation projects (were) renamed. Awards renamed. Flyovers renamed. Housing scheme renamed. Farm loan incentive renamed. Greening Drive (was) renamed. Departments renamed. Official residence renamed. Telangana Talli changed.' They 'Now, shamelessly, they've renamed the Rs 5 meal scheme from Goddess Annapurna, the divine giver of food, to Indira Gandhi. This isn't governance – it's an insult to Hindu beliefs. No real work. Just name work. And namesake work.' Medak Parliament MP M Raghunandan Rao criticized the Congress government, stating that after 18 months in power, it lacks the courage to evaluate its performance and address the promises made to the public. Instead, it seems to create a new name and narrative each day to distract the people from its shortcomings. The MP asked the GHMC Mayor to focus on civic issues rather than name-changing excrement. There are many unresolved issues in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area. The supply of potable water is insufficient, and the drainage system is inadequate. Illegal constructions are occurring in newly developed colonies, ration cards are not issued, and new pensions are being approved. The promises made by the Congress party in the state have not been fulfilled. Many women are unable to access scooties, and numerous individuals have not received the promised financial assistance of Rs. 2,500. Additionally, unemployed persons are not receiving the Rs. 4,000 that was promised. Residents are submitting petitions regarding the lack of streetlights in the slums. There are also concerning reports of stray dogs attacking children, resulting in fatalities. Furthermore, sewage water has flooded several colonies. The GHMC Mayor should respond to such issues. 'Just naming the Annapurna canteen after Indiramma canteen has not yielded any results for GHMC.' He urged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to stop changing the names of the schemes, reduce the hype surrounding them, and focus on fulfilling the promises made to the people before the elections. Telangana BJP Chief Spokesperson and Media In-charge N.V. Subhash condemned the decision to rename the popular 'Annapurna Canteens'—which serves subsidized meals to the poor—as 'Indira Canteens'. Calling it an 'unwarranted, insensitive, and politically motivated' move, the BJP termed the renaming as a direct affront to the sentiments of the Hindu majority, and yet another attempt to erase cultural symbols deeply rooted in India's civilizational identity. 'Annapurna is not just a name—it symbolizes Goddess Annapurna, the divine mother who nourishes the world.' He stated that the scheme had gained widespread goodwill due to its apolitical intentions. The GHMC is not a private trust, nor is it operated by the Congress Party. 'The use of public funds to glorify a single political dynasty reflects entitlement and autocracy,' Subhash remarked.
